This screen was to compare power usage and clock speeds. The MSI can run a lot quieter if you ramp up the fans, but here i'm testing the cards in their default state. I'd get the TUF and save the extra cash, unless you want to overclock and use more power, or prefer the MSI's design (which does look better IMO). Hope this helps!
Others say the TUF isn't really that loud in comparison. Also the TUF is mainly aluminium vs MSI's plastic copy of a ASUS 2080 TI Strix 😂 TUF is also cheaper.
when you noise normalise the cards, the TUF and MSI perform identically. So essentially your paying extra on the msi for looks and RGB. Hard time seeing how people wouldn't buy the TUF instead, its just better and cheaper

So if i manually pump the fans up to like 70-90% the temps will be similar to the tuf right? That plastic backplate won't hinder the performance and temps? Looking at very heavy workloads like Rendering and 3D texturing!
Yeah you can, but these cards are designed to run at 80 anyway, and remember I tested a bad case scenario with no front fans running - your temps should be lower
What I don’t understand about this card is having 3 power pins with a hard 370W power limit if I’m not mistaken.kind of defeats the purpose for a 3rd 8 pin.
Finally got a 3080 today in this model for £800 from Curry’s. I will now sell my 3070 Suprim X, I’ll miss the look as I feel the Trio is small step down, but a 3080. FINALLY!

I bought the gaming x for 843 euro's in the netherlands. It's coming in 2weeks but when i look at the tuf, its only 35 euro's more expensive so im sticking with my gaming x trio
In all the videos of this card the side bar looks a little dim/washed out. Is this true in person or just the way it reacts to a camera? The other LEDs in the system just seem more vivid.
Thing is with all the extra cabling that's needed for this card, Why don't they design the card with the power socket on the PCIe side?... No more unsightly cables routing there way around the card.

G-Sync enabled? There shouldn't be a reason why you're suddenly getting mouse latency other than that. There is however bugs with HDMI 2.1 and LG CX TVs so there might be bugs with that and your display too. You could try using the display ports, they can handle 4k 60 fps easily. 2) my psu only has 2 pcie power cables but 4 pcie connectors. Is it ok if i connect 1 cable with one connector and the other cable with both connectors?
I hope MSI are preparing new bios with power limit raised to 360-370Watt it can give an extra stable 50MHz on GPU
I use the suprim bios 430w
Can we use the 3080 with an egpu (razer core x for example)? And will it be better than a 2080 ti in a full pc? Maybe some benchmarks 🤔
3080 is two times 2080 super and 50% better than 2080ti
@@abshmoin2233 but there is always a drop in performance when we use a card with an external gpu ,so if we use it will we still get a higher performance?and will it fit in a razer core x🤔
How long will it take for these cards to be semi easy to purchase? 2021?
I got this exact card on my custom NZXT pc build. It’s being delivered as we speak
Case fans in front weren't even spinning
Only card that will arrive in stock where I live on friday which isn't super overpriced. The store I'm buying from is getting this, the tuf (non oc and oc), and zotac trinity, and the gaming X trio is the cheapest! Just hope I can snag one before they sell out again..
Did you just use 2 PCiE cables with the third connector daisy chained? No issue?
I have a corsair 850 watt platinum psu is this enough for this beastly thing? I updated my 2060 and my gpu got bricked somehow.
@Alf Stewart 77 never got it, seller tried to scam me numerous times with lies
One of my first big GPU purchases was a Twin Frozr 560ti. It was awesome until the fans stopped working outside of RMA and the warranty. MSI couldn't do anything for me and I ended up getting an aftermarket Artic GPU cooler which worked but the entire experience just left a bad taste in my mouth for MSI ever since and I have refused to buy MSI anything. I know they make good stuff and I only ever use Afterburner and even though I've used EVGA since and had two cards I needed to RMA, EVGA handled it so good that I've been happy to support them ever since. Maybe its time to venture to Asus and MSI GPU's again.
Do you have a discord pc centric? Man i really am having issues with my new 3080 msi gaming x trio! games will crash throughout the day i purchased a brand new 750 w corsair bronze as well with it! what would you suggest i do? i have tried so many options in changeing things through afterbuner etc. i still get crashes. no crazy blue screens or anything just game will freeze for a slight second and just completely close.
Nice vid! Though still love my MSI 2070 super! 🙂
I got a 2070S also but I'm buying this out of necessity because even mostly on medium at 2560x1080p, 'Red Dead Redemption' 2 is a monkey's butt.
Do you build pc’s for the common folk? Love your videos btw! Really helping me understand what I need for my first PC build!!
wow the temps are high. maybe i hit sillicone lottery but my gpu under load doesnt go over 70 and cpu on load doesnt go about 65. i have the arctic liquid freezer II 360mm and and all arctic p12 pwm pst fans as exhaust and just keeps everything very cold!
okay i missed the part where you said no front fans on LMAO
Hey question for you, with these new graphics cards, do you plan on keeping the predator x35/ pg35vq or is there something you will be upgrading too. I have the old 32in 4k predator and have been looking to upgrade to something and dont know if i want to wait or go with one of the 35ins
Buy samsung odyssey 49inch ultrawide :)
can't wait to buy this in 2022.
is that LG 34WN750-B monitor you use in this video man ? its seems not 34 inch screen only 32 Inch ? or 27 mabe
I am stuck on ordering this GPU now that you mentioned the 3 8 pin connectors. I currently just bought an asus rog Thor 850w PSU. Will I be able to buy a gaming z trio 3080 lhr with this specific PSU? I am new to all this!
Great content, throughly enjoy all your vids.
@@PcCentric nice to hear! Thank you
Is daisy chaining your power cables likes that recommended?
I have the same card running on a 650w psu daisy chained like his and it’s working just fine
This is probably my favorite tech youtube channel
What I don’t understand about this card is having 3 power pins with a hard 370W power limit if I’m not mistaken.kind of defeats the purpose for a 3rd 8 pin.
Finally got a 3080 today in this model for £800 from Curry’s. I will now sell my 3070 Suprim X, I’ll miss the look as I feel the Trio is small step down, but a 3080. FINALLY!
When will Asus strix card review come also tell does it worth to buy rtx 3070 in a PC build with buget 2500$ or 2600$
Pre ordered! Can’t wait!
What's the difference between this gpu and the MSI GeForce RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X OC?
Are all psu's equiped with the required cables to power this beast?
I think you were chocking the card as front fans are not spinning. Also I hopped you would try to overclock and show why it is 100 pounds more don't think it's just a design improvement.
That was deliberate to test them under a bad case scenario. Overclocking coming soon!
I don’t know about my online classe attendance but in this channel it is 100 percent
How did this comment get 10 likes? 10 people understood this sentence? Eh.
Commercio right
I bought the gaming x for 843 euro's in the netherlands.
If only I could get one... 😭😭
get back in line ;)
Hope you review the top ASUS and EVGA soon and compare them with this MSI
Thing is with all the extra cabling that's needed for this card, Why don't they design the card with the power socket on the PCIe side?... No more unsightly cables routing there way around the card.
hey look it's the one i had in my cart on newegg today before the bots literally snatched it out of my cart within 5 seconds of it being in stock. not joking, it was literally in stock for 5 seconds total.
:(
Please tell me those intake fans were off to better hear the card fan noise.(Sorry if it was explained, skipped through for specific info(power draw/noise), thanks for it though).
Does this fit in the Corsair 280x. That’s my current case and I really want to know.
323 x 140 x 56mm thats measurement of the MSI RTX 3080 - You can cut out a piece of cardboard and try i think :)
@@corpsepuppy427 Looking at Readit posts, it looks like it does fit but may need to take out the front fans first to install the gpu and then fit fans back in. I have the same case and have just ordered the 3080 Gaming Trio X.
Really curious why your front fans aren’t spinning?
does this one have the cheap capacitors everyone is talking about, that only the founders and TUF has? Sorry if i missed it in the video. Seems like the TUF is the only good one
Im looking to build a new system with this card and a 5900x. This video implies a 750w PSU is more than enough to run a system at full load but should i go with an 850w? Im not really planning on overclocking
Why would you blur our the temperature of the other cards? I've heard the MSI rtx 3080 cards run significantly hotter than the other cards.
can i ask u something with thatc rtx since u have that what motherboard is compatible with that? and what should i use for that? Intel core or AMD? im build my own pc and i already have that MSI RTX 3080 i dont know what should i but next to be compatible with that grpahics card. Thanks
It’s literally running 20 degrees hotter than the TUF at a slightly lower boost clock. Why would you want this card if you had the choice? You say you would choose this card, but you don’t say why. And there are plenty of reasons why not.
Don't compare those temp numbers, Those are open case perf mode on the TUF. That screen was for clock and power usage only.
PC Centric Ah, okay, fair enough.
Cool! Since you like this one can I buy the FE card??⚡😜
so now that you have seen the competition do you still feel the same about this card ?
Question!! I have this card and I have a Samsung 4K 60hz monitor. When I am plugged in, I get a little mouse input lag. I’ve tried both hdmi ports on the back on the monitor. I’ve also got all drivers installed and everything.
This is my setup:
Intel I7 10700k 10th Gen
NZXT Kraken X53 Liquid Cooler
ASUS Prime Z490-A
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32gb Ram
Samsung 970 EVO 1TB NVME SSD
MSI RTX 3080 X TRIO
Phanteks Eclipse P400s
Corsair RM850
(6) Thermaltake RGB cooling fans
(2)NZXT Cooling fans
Windows 10 Pro
G-Sync enabled? There shouldn't be a reason why you're suddenly getting mouse latency other than that. There is however bugs with HDMI 2.1 and LG CX TVs so there might be bugs with that and your display too. You could try using the display ports, they can handle 4k 60 fps easily. Assuming your have a DP on your 'monitor'. Also it would be worth mentioning what peripherals you use as well in your specs especially if it's related to mouse latency. Can't say anything about the motherboard or cpu as I switched to AMD recently.
TheMaw365 I don’t think the monitor has gsync. I think it has free sync but it’s grayed out like I can’t activate it. I’ll double check when I get home.
TheMaw365 this is the model.

Did you upgrade from old gpu? use DDU to uninstall old drivers.
`bought one last week.......tough to see you having it and i have to wait ....;)
I5-9600Kf + Rtx 3080 It's good ? 🤔
3:25 NNGGAAAAAAHHH.... BUUURNSSSS xDDDD
It stole my dreams of getting a 3080 x'D
nice one mate. very good work 😁
What port do you use for you main monitor to game on, HDMI or Display Port
I have this same gpu with the MSI mag 240 hz idk which one to use for which monitor, I have a dual monitor as well.
What LG monitor are you using?
Where can I buy the 3 x 8 pin connector? Please could you give me a link? Or am I okay using two 8 pin PCIE x2 cables?
Nice! I was trying to get a Tuf but I missed my chance so I had to fork out for one of these. I haven't got it yet but I am now happy I got this one after all! Thanks for the info.
Man, your videos are great.
But that super wide angle lens distorts a lot and give us very weird size perspective of the things you are showing.
How does he get his hands on not one not two but three 3080’s? Life is unfair
Probably scalps them after 😂
He probably gets them sent to him for reviews.
@@scottwinfrey8250 lol the comment was rhetorical bro
So I just got this exact one delivered in my custom NZXT pc and it doesn’t have the three dragons on it!! And it only has 2 8 pin connectors?? Did they give me the wrong one!!??
