Just finished my first ever build. I had zero experience with PCs and was pretty terrified throughout, but everything is working. I've watched most of these videos 4-5 times in the past few days to be sure I didn't miss anything. It's very impressive how you demystify the process while being entertaining. Ridiculously helpful. Thank you!
I'm also new to pc gaming and have parts coming in slowly. I need to know if you can only buy a windows 11 or 10 USB stick (cause I don't have another computer to install windows) and don't need to upload anything on a usb stick to transfer to your pc. Essentially like any drivers?
lol im in ur shoes atm lol just got a 5600x/strix b550 gamingF and gotta switch my old pc cpu/mobo out and put those in and its nerve racking hoping it goes good and works lol
Dude I was a Xbox guy for years you gave me the confidence to build my first pc and get everything set up with a few laughs along the way can’t explain how much I appreciate you!!!
Huge pro tip is to move your Shadowplay temp folder to an HDD rather than the default C:/ location. This folder is constantly writing recorded footage to the drive and can beat up your nice SSD. HDDs handle frequent writes a little better in terms of drive health, so I always put the temp folder there. Another pro tip is to go to mouse settings and turn off enhance pointer precision (mouse acceleration).
Well..... I agree that SSD's sound more fragile than HDD's, but nowadays they're as durable as any HDD. So you gotta decide between a slightly slower system and replacing a cheaper part, or a blazing fast system and replacing a expensive part. I don't mind, I actually leave it at C. The durability difference isn't that great, the speed I get makes a slight difference and I lose WAY less data if my SSD blow up, since only Windows, and some games where I really need a low loading time gets permanent storage on it.
Hey Dude, I'm old...like almost 40 old...And just got back into PC gaming after about a 20 year break. Finding your videos incredibly helpful. Great job.
the most overlooked tip is: before you download ANYTHING, change the time on your PC. that way you avoid files saying "downloaded tomorrow" (yes that's what it actually says)
Looking into this, I've seen some comments saying that the program was super resource intensive and was decreasing overall performance; is that still the case?
If you don't like multiple softwares for controlling rgb I'd suggest giving Signal RGB a try. I just switched to it and it controls my lian li strimmer, Corsair ram, Asus mobo and rog strix GPU and I was able to get rid of disgusting aura sync and icue.
I'm building my first PC ever next Thursday. It's a 3070 Ti, Ryzen 9 5900x build. I'll probably check out your video on how to build a PC and then come back to this one after I'm done (successfully, I hope). Thank you for all the amazing information, Marcus!

Hi Marcus, great video as usual. One thing you missed is setting the "Colour Depth" in NVidia control panel. Full colour depth 32 Bit, dynamic range full and if our monitor supports it 10 bpc
It’s been 10 years since I’ve built a PC and done a fresh install of Windows so this was an awesome refresher thank you!! Just finished a fresh build last night after quite a bit of troubleshooting and having to do a late night run to buy a used GPU because my old RX 580 does NOT like to do fresh installs without onboard graphics apparently lol
I just build an amazing pc for the first time ever two weeks ago. And pc centric was the main reason why I was easily able to build it with confidence.
First time I ever built my pc it didn’t work. I went to sleep and tried again the next day and everything came out fine! This takes time don’t worry and trust the process!
I already know im gonna be watching this video over and over. I am buying all the parts for my pc at microcenter this weekend and im honestly a little scared, but this video seems like its gonna work like a charm for me. Wish me luck

and i tought my computer case was big 😁 i have a big tower i stuffed full of hardware for music production, i dont play games, but videos like yours give me some tips in how to configure the computer CPU,GPU and Memory wise, the most problematic thing for music production is latency, there's also the problem when you use 4 sticks DDR5 with XMP that your computer wont boot anymore, you have only two sticks in your machine, great for using XMP but defeats the purpose of having 4 DIMM slots, i had to disable XMP and run my 4 sticks at 5000Mhz instead of 6000Mhz, i lose 1000Mhz,but my system works flawless now, cheers m8
the one million dollars bit got a subscribe out of me! Been watching a few of your videos and your personality comes out! Great job and thank you for all the time it takes to put out such quality videos like these.

You forgot about bios update! Mostly people say that you dont need to do it if your pc is running good, but mostly of then updates can be plus more compatibility or bugs that may occur within the time playing. Also, update your Motherboard Chipset drivers, but, i only recomend updating it for your motherboard, the others you need, windows already provide.
I don’t know if you look back at these old videos but out of curiosity where do you manage to learn this from like did you study yourself or did you go to school for it I find it very interesting
The vast majority of PC builders are self-taught. You don't go to school (usually) to learn to build PCs. A lot of it just comes down to having a natural curiosity and wanting to learn. That's how I got interested in PCs as a kid: taking things apart and trying to put them back together in working order.
Perhaps its just me but viewing system info in GeForce experience to confirm resizable bar is on and enabled after making the bios change may have been a nice touch for those that aren't familiar with enabling resizable bar.
LatencyMon and the tweaks to reduce system latency issues. I went from 30ping to 17ping by assigning my least used core for my ethernet. Disabling any unused stuff in device manager also reduces system latency
