    I grew up in a house with a very dangerous alcoholic 🤦🏾‍♀️ he’d drunk cook and forget he was cooking and almost burned our house down a few times, left doors wide open and random cats would come in. It was terrible

    I lived with an alcoholic father. Everything was about him. It was like living with a live hand grenade. You never knew what would set him off.

      My dad was like that too. He never got wasted he wouldn't black out but it was still enough that he would be hurting the next day so he would be trying to sleep it off and he was unhappy or complaining most of the time and he also didn't handle stress or anger very well. He also didn't care how calloused and inconsiderate it made him and thought everyone else was "too sensitive" he said I was too sensitive for not wanting him to be too harsh with his words. But in reality he was just being an asshole he thinks that everyone should just do everything his way and he makes the problems way bigger than what they already are. Also unfortunately that hasn't changed and that's why I don't talk to him.

    While drunk and walking I've even yelled at multiple cars and random people sometimes. Like you said, booze just lowers that switch it lowers the voice in your head that tells you "I shouldn't do this because it's either dangerous or ill look insane". Hate alcohol but I also love it. It's a part of me

    Some people want help others dont. Depending on where the person is at, reaching out a hand and saying you will help them get help well, it will cause quite a bit of trouble for you.

    The paranoia that "alcoholics" or anyone who is drunk, can't control the path of their thoughts, and their faculties are distorted. Yes, I'm married to one. Solution?

      Support, and more support. Then on your own time, go find some one to talk to. Say, a psychologist or local peer support specialist. They will have good direction for what steps you need to take personally to either help your loved one or your self. If the relationship is toxic or in any way physically harming to you, I suggest creating healthy boundaries. If you get a chance head on over to “put the shovel down” great channel that talks more in depth about all of these topics!

    I believe the alcoholic in my life gets emotionally abusive because he wants to escape from responsibility...watching this behavior makes me sad,

    I have been that angry abusive alcoholic. I have been fortunate enough to know that I'm the problem. We can make incredible strides but when we let our guard down it disappoints us and everyone else around us.

    opioids and alcohol are my drugs of choice, both make me really pissed frequently though. Especially when mixing, low doses of them combined and I'm the most irritable man on earth, high doses of either and I'm just in my peaceful and blissful coma which is where I aim to be.

    • @TellYourStory

      Do you currently take them. Or, have you ever sought out sobriety?

      @@TellYourStory 3 months later just seeing this and I have been been doing better but still not sober, I take suboxone now instead of pain pills and heroin, it's been a gift. Unfortunately I'm still dependent on alcohol and drink anywhere from 10-14 standard drinks daily. Been an addict since 17 after I got on probation, couldn't smoke weed so I started abusing robitussin (dxm) and once I discovered opioids and booze at 18 it was game over, 25 now.

I made a bigger mistake cos I thought he changed but no he gets worse then before. Me and my mom just moved next door to him. ☹️☹️☹️I get scared 😨😨.

    It has always astounded me why this drug is legal. I don’t drink I am one of these strange creatures that doesn’t do drugs except coffee and I only have two cups a day. I won’t date a drinker, even a guy who has two beers while watching the football. People change after the first beer. The fact that it makes people aggressive is scary enough. I always ask guys straight up do you drink and if they do it’s goodbye. I have been to social gatherings and everyone is great until the alcohol starts flowing. You get the relative that wants to start picking on you. You get the guys getting flirty with you while their wife and kids are just a couple of feet away from you. You get jealous women come up to you and make a comment about your pretty dress in a condescending way. Some get very aggressive and want to physically attack you. And than you get silly stupid women and men that want to hug and kiss everyone in the room or the woman who’s husband is cheating on her and she blurts it out in a loud voice so the whole room can hear or people that start crying and want to tell you about their horrible childhood. I have seen people work extremely hard to pass exams and start a brilliant career only to have it taken from them by getting plastered and destroying everything. I get natural highs from swimming, dancing, long distance walking on the beautiful nature tracks that I live near and The Pacific Ocean that I live near. I love music and singing and Psychology especially forensic psychology and learning about new things all the time. I could not enjoy these things if I drank alcohol. 🇦🇺⭐️😇

    Not so much angry … I feel very agitated and irritated so much of the time snappy and waspy either with alcohol or sober. I can’t ever feel calm and chilled and drink to calm myself down to relieve anxiety

    • @TellYourStory
      @TellYourStory  2 года назад +1

      I felt the same way. I do think that with time, sobriety can bring that anxiety down. Though, I also think, you should try to find a hobby that helps you relieve your self of stress. Try to find something simple that you love to do, and put time aside each day to do it. Block everything out..people, troubles, things, even loved ones, and do that one thing! Maybe that will help! Keep moving forward!
