Erika (German folk/marching song) - Synthesia

- Erika is a German folk song written in the 30's. Many think it is a right extreme song but it's basically German Katyusha.
The blue part is an alternative left hand or an duet version.
Difficulty: Medium
I took references from these videos:
• Video
• Marcha Militar Alemana...
i played this in school for a music assessment and they all loved it, especially because one of them was german

I was invited to play the piano at one of my friends synagogues. Their German and Jewish and most of them spoke German and very little English so I decided to play this song for them. They let me finish, however, I was told to never return.
You should've played Horst Wessel 😏

Fun fact for who does not understand German:
this song is about the fact that "Erika" is not only a common name for women in Germany, but also how a plant is called. It's a love song, and in the whole lyrics you can't find a single word about war or politics
True
Is it really a love song? I thought Erika (the little maiden) was the guy’s daughter.

In terms of its meaning, it's pretty much a German equivalent to Katyusha.
Yup it was used in ww1 before nazi germany

My german friend told me about a traditional dance that goes with the aong, and it's very easy, maybe too easy, as you only use your hand, which you have to slowly levitate into the air... Lovely local tradition I guess.
