My baby was just born 23 days ago, he was never diagnosed with Down syndrome until he was born the doctors did a genetic test on his blood. Santos my baby boy tested positive for DS. Me and husband are ready for this journey with our son, it was hard for us it’s still hard at times. Santos was in the NICU after birth, left the hospital after 7 days in NICU, he’s a strong little one and he’s so adorable and has a big attitude already. 🙏🏼 Blessings to all families. 💚

What little cuties! I’m old enough to remember when parents were told to place their babies with Downs into an institution because they would just be a burden. I’m so glad that attitude changed and now these kids are given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

If life was like the cartoon The Simpson’s where everyone stayed the same age then fine but kids grow up and parents get older and develop their own disabilities. It’s not all rainbows and sunshine with any child with special needs.
Glad these parents are so happy, now, but this lifestyle isn’t for everyone nor should it be.
Maybe the moral of the story is to enjoy every moment with the hope of creating lasting memories with your kids. 😉 Cheers 💜
My daughter os now 7 and she is a big joy from God.
It's not the same for older or elderly down syndrome people,who are mostly institutionalized. The parents have passed or are too old to take care of them. Those are the facts. People with downs syndrome outlive their parents. Most cannot take care of themselves. They are only biological babies and children for so long. Most people have them institutionalized during their teens or young adults,sadly it becomes too much to handle. I knew a 77yr. old women who was still taking care of her 54yr. old son,until he hit her and she was hospitalized. She changed his diapers for 54yrs.
