Unfortunately, there are people that absolutely can NOT leave their homes because they do not have the money for gas, a motel, etc..... they are STUCK, and praying to God for their survival. PLEASE pray for all those who are hanging on for dear life during this horrible storm! And don't forget the amount of damage others may go home to afterwards! They need our prayers also!

Each State should have designated shelters in place for such emergencies. I've had to evacuate for hurricanes and had no idea where we were going. All they told us was to go North. We had no friends or relatives in North Louisiana nor money for an extended stay at a hotel. While traveling, we saw so many people broken down on the side of the road trying to make it in a car that just couldn't make the trip. By the Grace of God we made it to shelters far from home. It was scary not knowing if you would have a home when we returned.
If you live in Florida then they have an agreement with Uber. They will take you to a shelter for free. Please don't feel like you are stuck because you have an option.
This is just a good reminder that EVERYONE should be prepped, NO MATTER WHERE you live!
There was no way to prep for 30 feet of water.
Many were prepped. All of it washed away. 😢
Amen. We are in Greenville, SC. No idea we would get hit so hard by a Hurricane! 😮 A solid week without power and a flooded Barn. Fortunately we didn’t lose any lives, 4 legged OR 2 legged ❤

A few years ago I lost my home and all my hard work canning all summer to a house fire. It can be really discouraging and hard to start over, but with the grace of God i was able to get back up, dust myself off and begin again. Never give up! God bless y'all from here in Alabama. ❤

Not everyone has the financial means to evacuate. I pray they can survive. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
They have free shuttles to take people out of harm's way.
Some have animals and can't leave. Many have no where to go.
Some are bedridden, severely disabled, too ill, alone with no family or friends to help...

If you have a home to return too.If it was flooded or destroyed you should be thanking God you didn't stay.smh folks acting like someone is dragging them on extended vacation or something. Crazy!

I have followed you all for about 3 years now . I can say I am successfully living off grid . No water no electric. The human spirit and God given ability is not to be underestimated!

Me too 10nyrars in Hawaii and survived several major hurricanes. Evacuated for the last one because it's nerve racking and almost got swept away 5 yrs ago, but zero damage❤

My daughters family had to evacuate. That evacuation is biggist since 2017. Driving was sooooov sllloooow. And they left yesterday. I pray nobody has to ride out Milton in their vehicle. Girl, youvgot me Hungery for red beans!
My 80 year old dad stayed in North Sarasota. He is so stubborn. Pray pray pray!

I was watching Ryan Hall earlier today. My daughter lives in Weaverville, NC, just north of Asheville. She is ok and so is her home. But her Dad's home in Burnsville up on the mountain has a good bit of damage because part of his roof was torn off. (Burnsville had 3 tornadoes go through the area) She has been helping him rip out sheetrock. She told me today thank you for bringing her can goods when I come visit and making her keep can goods at home. She said I had food even if it was green beans etc. I would take her can organic soups and organic Spaghetti sauce, noodles etc. She didnt have power but a neighbor had a gas stove. She has always had gallons of spring water and stocked up on more before the storm. We discussed things she will get before next years hurricane season. She already has a propane tank but discussed a propane stove, generator and transfer switch, hand pump for her well, and filling water bottles and storing them in the basement and rotating them out. She lives on a good size hill in her neighborhood. She will make a list and now will stock more canned food of her choice. I am glad she is thinking of preparing ahead now. She helped her little elderly neighbors by going to a neighbor with a generator and filling water in 5 gallon buckets and taking them to the elderly couple. They got power & water back after 5 days..5 long days. She said she couldn't wait to get an actual shower! Now her paternal grandma, who turned 100 this year, aunt & family, step-mom, have all evacuated in Fort Myers FL. Her sister & family are in Orlando have gone to a more secure hotel in Orlando. It's like bam bam for them. First her & her dad & step-mom's house in North Carolina and now family in Fort Myers. I'm proud of her she is holding up well and helping where she can. Prayers for everyone facing Milton and those in North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina & Florida still dealing with the aftermath of Helene. I cant remember a storm affecting so many states and I'm 67!
The original 10 damaged states, now 6, are equal to the area of the UK-- England, Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland put together!!

@KCSmith1 it makes it where the power generated by the generator does not go back up the electrical line and harm/kill the linemen. That is my understanding. If you have a transfer switch it is safer and all you do is flip breakers off you do not want the generator to run. That's my understanding. I need an electrician to hook me one up also.
You have opened my eyes to the fact that my dried and frozen foods are not enough..especially the beans in the bucket. I'm gonna get a canner when I can and be better able to care for my 70 year old self.
Don’t forget you can sprout beans and eat those raw if necessary. Also can cook, ferment and dry some black-eyed pea leaves.

Ryan hall and crews videotaped our business the entire night during beryl!! That’s the only way we knew what was happening he had 4 cameras live of our business. It sucked watching it get demolished but way better than not knowing!!!! I watch Ryan hall yall every storm now!! 😍😍😍

For those who didn't evacuate or couldn't evacuate because of whatever the circumstances I Pray that God shields you and your families from the coming storm. In Jesus' name I pray! Amen!!!
We are in South Central GA below Vidalia and it decimated our area. Some of it will never be the same, ever. So many still without power. There were so many trees down it looked like a bomb went off. This is farm country and the devastation is going to be felt at the grocery stores soon as well. We had it bad but N Carolina was so much worse. People have reported that they didn’t get much notice to evacuate, there was really no chance for them. Plus, the mountains aren’t much affected by hurricanes so they probably thought it wouldn’t be that bad. It is a nightmare for these people. Praying for all affected by this tragedy and a huge thanks to rescuers, linemen and tree workers as well as all volunteers and those that donated. Thank God for our American spirit of love for one another is still alive!

@HomesteadHeart Miss H, just thought I would mention to you. People can map their location around them 50 mile radius or whatever your willing to drive to. Check often sometimes someone new starts a drop. People could start their own drop and become a coordinator themself. Also Azure has home delivery as well if your not interested in becoming a drop coordinator. Hope this helps someone!

Please anyone who sees this. Take it seriously. I'm in NC and the news you see about the damage here is far from the reality. If you stay and survive the damage there is no one to help you afterwards. No services, no food, no water. Churches and volunteers are the ones recovering dead bodies. People are straggling into towns having not eaten since days ago. I cannot express the devastation.

When you said “with a hurricane you know it’s coming, it’s not a surprise,” it really resonated. Jesus told us to be alert. We know these things are coming. Now is the time to get ready. We don’t know what/when/how we will be rescued out of here. Our preps might not even end up being for us, but for those coming after us.
