Massive Beatles fan here. Not that familiar with Pomplamoose, but this is extraordinary. Love the couple of extra jazz chords in the chorus, and the bass playing is sublime. Really brought something new to a song that's really hard to cover well.
This re-imagining of a classic song is simply brilliant. Too much to mention but I must note the wonderful, etherial chords over the E ostinato on the piano. OMG
I feel like no one talks enough about how proficient a bass player Nataly is. I mean Nick and Sam are obviously of the absolute highest calibre on earth, but for someone playing and singing, Nataly is pretty Godlike. Impressive stuff.
Yes, i believe is a combination of the black and white pic with the slower version , I could really pay attention to the lyrics, very sad Always great job Nataly!
Jack on The Ivories.....Nataly on The Bass.....and going down Memory Lane with Eleanor Rigby leading the way.....This was like sitting at The Kitchen Table with Family and getting caught up on Love and Fun.....Thank You for filling my Heart and Soul ....Cheers From Ohio
I don’t normally like covers of this song because they don’t give me that familiar chilling feeling and goosebumps, but this cover hits again and again. I get goosebumps and it feels magical. Bless your hearts.
That's the first time I've really paid attention to the lyrics of this song, and this cover captures the tone so beautifully. You guys are always so pleasant to listen to.
@@Pomplamoose Your minimalistic instrumentation helps a lot. In my opinion, your cover transports the message even better than the original. (Although I do like the original as well 😉)
Don’t get me wrong. I was always blown away and mesmerized by the original Beatles arrangement. Their harmonies are incredible, and I’m also anchored to it because I fell asleep to it when I was a little kid. BUT, this stripped down version had me pulling out a box of tissues. It’s use of a lone vocalist (that lone singer being Natalie, with her understated style) brings up this profound kind of sadness! It’s way more powerful for me than the Beatles recording in that regard. The piano harmonies and dynamics here are still killer in this version as well though. There are way fewer elements in this version to distract the listener from the sense of loneliness that the writers probably meant to covey.
I love every bit of this video. The atmosphere, the minimalist arranges, the beautiful bass line, the 'E' ostinato on piano, and of course the voice. It is not simple to make such a beautiful thing, giving the impression of being simple. What a wonderful work! Thanks from Spain
@Fiodor Fiedorowicz this is pure ART, its like a blurry fuzzy Claude_Monet picture, but made with music , like in a shinny warming morning wakeup out of coffe , off a 72 y.o paraplegic balet dancer in a ElderHouse
So well done. I love that the two of you love music, but you also love each other. What a gift that is to be married to another that loves what you love! Inspiration.
When the music is too nice, you don't pay attention to the lyrics. This is how Georges Brassens explained he was making the music nice enough to be pleasant, but not too much, to avoid "drowning" the lyrics. Your dramatically pure rendition brings the words to the surface, and this is how I realise how sad the story is, while the Beatles original version gives the impression of a "second degree" sarcastic song. Hats off 👍😀😊 A Frenchie.
On a rainy day when the drops are just pelting on my window just hard enough to make a pleasant sound to relax to songs like this from you guys are unbelievably perfect and honestly required. I could just begin to float away in pure stress free bliss to you two. Man I love you guys.
I come back to listen to this again and again. The combination of Natalie's voice and her bass playing just makes it. It is such a sad song, and her voice just captures the hopelessness in the words. But a great piece of music, that you have captured the essence of and enhanced. Thank you Jack and Natalie.
Just listened this for the first time. By this time tomorrow, I foresee myself having listened to it another hundred times. One of my favorite songs sung by one of my favorite bands in a style that gives me goosebumps... I think I'm in love... Thank you for this amazing treat! Nat and Jack, you guys are epitome of cool. Love from Ireland, hope to see you guys here some day (please!)
Awesome take on my favorite Beatle song of all time! I love the stripped down “lonely” feel of this! Did a cover of this myself a few years ago, but not NEARLY THIS GOOD! 😉🙌🏻
My favorite Beatles tune. I like your interpretation. It perfectly harnesses the intensity and melancholy of the lyrics. And yes, I've got to say it; she is absolutely gorgeous, and her voice...😚👌
