Came close to the podium back in 2004. In 2008 an injury during competition kept him fromtaking a medal to Colombia when he was a strong favorite (though another colombian would medal then) and in 2012 silver with an Olympic record. Finally the time came for Oscar in 2016 with a supporting crowd.
Bordiga Armchair Apparently the weight total is what mattered as well as the weight of the lifter. He had the single biggest lift, and was on the same total weight lifted, but weighed a little more, so came into silver position.
It's what makes the Olympics so special. If you made it to the Olympic games you're truly a special athlete. Four years of insane hard work to even have an attempt to make it and then you're competeting against the best in the world. And in weight lifting you only have a few tries to show the world your best. Hard not to feel emotional for any athlete who accomplishes their dream with such incredible stakes.
