      Savage Pepe theyre far away from gold and theyre happy they got on the podium with a medal at least, silver lost to first place.. he wouldve been remembered in years and years to come if he could just lift a few kgs more

    Came close to the podium back in 2004. In 2008 an injury during competition kept him fromtaking a medal to Colombia when he was a strong favorite (though another colombian would medal then) and in 2012 silver with an Olympic record. Finally the time came for Oscar in 2016 with a supporting crowd.

      Bordiga Armchair Apparently the weight total is what mattered as well as the weight of the lifter. He had the single biggest lift, and was on the same total weight lifted, but weighed a little more, so came into silver position.

      It's what makes the Olympics so special. If you made it to the Olympic games you're truly a special athlete. Four years of insane hard work to even have an attempt to make it and then you're competeting against the best in the world. And in weight lifting you only have a few tries to show the world your best.
      Hard not to feel emotional for any athlete who accomplishes their dream with such incredible stakes.

      They made it up to the Olympic trials and passed through to go and compete, even if you don’t win a medal you’re an Olympic athlete in the history books and that’s something to be happy about. Even if they feel like they didn’t reach their full potential, they got a lot out of what they did accomplish just by getting to that point/opportunity

    I think I was the only one from Indonesian 🇮🇩 see Eko Yuli Irawan here .WeightLifting wasn't famous like Badminton or FootBall in Indonesia but their consistency at Olympics was well proud for me👍 .Since 2000 ,Indonesia always get at least 1 medal from WeightLifting even haven't win Gold yet 🙌

      @@mamazbreez Sayang banget sih menurutku kalo dari Strategy mulai masang Attempt nya juga ,Pihak Indonesia kurang sesuai bagi saya .Mulai dari Snatch ,Attempt 2 sama 3 Eko di 146kg which is PersonalBest(PB) Eko di 145kg seharusnya masang nya 145kg karena Oscar dari Colombia dapet Snatch 142kg dari Attempt 2 sedangkan Eko Snatch 142kg langsung dapet di Attempt 1 .Memang Eko lebih berat BodyWeight ketimbang Oscar sehingga kurang menguntungkan karena Oscar tinggal mengikuti Beban yang dipasang Eko,Tapi Oscar fail di Attempt 3 Snatch 145kg .Seharusnya Eko cukup masang di 145kg bukan 146kg yang berakibat Eko fail keduanya untuk membuat Sedikit Keunggulan di Snatch karena PB Snatch Eko lebih tinggi di Snatch 145 berbanding Oscar hanya di 140 (Keduanya didapet di Olympics London2012) apalagi mereka sudah bersaing ketat sejak Olympics London 2012 sampe Rio2016 sebelum masuk CleanAndJerk apalagi Oscar unggul di CleanAndJerk secara PB yakni 177kg berbanding Eko hanya 175kg .Di CleanAndJerk pun ,Ketika Eko habis Fail di 176 dan Oscar berhasil di 176 dan keduanya sama sama sisa 1 Attempt .Saya paham kalo Tim Eko harus masang target naik untuk bisa menyalip Oscar minimal 177 dan 1 sisi untuk memberi waktu Istirahat 2 menit lebih lama ,Karena ada yang Atlet Kazakhstan Farkhad Khaki mengincar 177 juga untuk berusaha menyalip Eko dari Rank 2 namun Gagal ,Seharusnya 177 saja cukup atau jika mau mecahin OlympicsRecord(OR) CleanAndJerk kelas -62kg yang dipegang Oscar di tahun 2012 dengan 177kg ,Harusnya cukup 178 saja tidak perlu 179 yang terlalu tinggi
