Same.. mine now has gunk that won’t come out though.. really unfair of them. I (along with others) told them early enough they could have done the right thing. 😔 this will be something that gives me pause when considering any new releases of Ninja products now.
Agree, and thanks for the video! This is definitely an issue that will lead to mold & it is not sanitary. If that gap was a little wider so you could get in there to clean it that would make a huge difference. Love this machine otherwise, so I’m hoping Ninja can provide a cleaner solution.
My barrel freezes under the slush or frozen juice option no matter what soda or juice I use the barrel freezes the soda or juice. Any reason why? But spiked drinks it’s fine
Hey there, I spoke to customer support today about my retail purchased and registered Slushi machine and this issue. They were very very much against replacing the vessel. I was very kind with the worker who was clearly just doing her job, but after 3 pushbacks on the issue, I was put on hold and a Supervisor recorded my warranty details and added me to a list of customers for backorder replacements. Could be a brush off, but I was told it was 2-3 months backordered which also indicates that Ninja knows this problem is real. Do not let them try to tell you that soaking it in water or putting the vessel in the dishwasher will clean that impossible space. It won't. It's a brush-off tactic that is kind of uncouth. I understand the company made a great product with a design flaw, the least they could do was replace everyone who bought one with a better (vessel) version and make it right. This is the cost of good business, and good business is consecrated by how a company treats their customers.
Yes, unfortunately, they know about the issue but are not addressing it and most likely the replacement vessel you get will also have the issue I received two replacements one of which has black pieces stuck inside of it and I can’t get those out so it’s was not even usable. 😖
100% this is a problem. I've had my Ninja Slushi for a while now and this issue is extremely noticeable especially after putting milk products in it... I can see the hazy liquid stuck in there even after a deep clean. I have a sink with a faucet that has a sprayer and that doesn't help get it all out. Anyone thinking you can put a tooth pick or other instrument in there... nope... this will lead to mold and other issues for sure. My only solution has been taking a pot and heating up some water to almost the point of boiling... then after doing the best I can cleaning I do a plunge of the container repeatedly. Before I started doing that I was using a can of air duster to blow out the crevices lol... that worked but then Id spent more time cleaning it all over again being paranoid some kind of chemical from the canned air was getting all up in there. They really could have designed this without that groove all around.. Hopefully they make a updated container that is compatible with this unit at some point... I bought a couple replacement containers just in case the one I have gets to the point I don't want to use it anymore... Despite that issue I do like the product.
I’m really hoping they redesign the vessel. I’m holding out hope.. 🤞🏼😬 they sent me ANOTHER vessel despite me asking them not to, but apparently someone in the escalation department thought it would help 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll open it and it will be the same I’m sure. I’m calling them the end of this month and if nothing is changed I’ll have to return. I’m sure they’ll make a newer model with all the fixes if they don’t fix the vessel this time around.
I just ordered one today and this seems to be the only issue i have heard about. Do you know if anything has changed in design or if they "fixed it" somehow?
Nothing has changed and I don’t believe they have any plans on fixing for this round. I do believe they will take all the info they have and create a 2.0 slush eventually.. we’ve seen it with the creami. It’s a shame because it’s such an awesome machine otherwise.
I'm shocked they haven't addressed it and continue to push it out like this. I really had high hopes, which is why I didn't return and I truly regret not returning it.
As I told you, it is a Manufacturing Flaw and even worse, IT IS A QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE. The base piece is not molded correct and is smaller that the opening of the Vessel. There are only 2 fixes, Fill the gap with "Something" or remake the original mold of the part. And that will COST BIG DOLLARS, and then Ninja will have to admit there is an issue and either replace all Vessels for machines sold, Refund all Buyers or PLACE A RECALL (which is not going to happen, that's BAD PR). Their original response to me is ABSOLUTELY CORRECT ! "WE DON'T HAVE A SOLUTION...." And one would think, before they sent out a replacement Vessel to customers, SOMEONE WOULD'VE MADE AT LEAST THE MINIMAL ATTEMPT TO VERIFY THE ISSUE DIDN'T EXIST. That shows INCOMPETENCE, POOR QUALITY CONTROL AND PISS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
@@davidsanchez3981 I completely understand your frustration because I noticed it as soon as I washed our Ninja Slushi before using. I called them and was told it was a defect. my most recent call was last week when I escalated it and they also noticed theirs in the office has the same issue. I don’t think it’s an issue. I think it’s definitely a bad design. I’m guessing we’ll be returning it, but I haven’t heard back from them yet so I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt until then. 🫣
Same issue . Called a 2nd time after the 1st replacement. They said they wouldn't replace it again. I needed to learn to clean it. Suggested vinegar and baking soda. I was about to go Karen on them. Finally a manager said when they get in stock they will send a new one. I Suggested having the gap on the outside instead of in so to avoid the issue or to make those pieces separate for cleaning
Replacing won't fix the issue, unfortunately. I was ready to return mine but my kiddos were so upset.. so I'm HOPING (NINJA, HI!!) that they will redesign the vessel. :)
I haven’t really used it aside from a few times. I’m holding out hope but that hope has dwindled and I wish I returned. I do clean it well thanks to my faucet having a similar feature to a waterpik, but it’s not something everyone has.
Just got my machine. The first time I used it I made a strawberry daiquiri. Tons of strawberry are now stuck in the same place. Ridiculous design flaw. This is definitely a deal-breaker for me.
Same problem here! Bought mines 2 days ago, made frappes the first time and washed and noticed the milk stuck in there… cleaned it forever as best as I could and tried to rinse through for a long time…. Washed again and then tried juice yesterday and it’s completed filled with gunk… it sucks bc I really want to keep this but I can’t justify the price with this problem… it feels like it’s always going to be moldy
I have the same issue I soaked it, took a toothbrush and around the edge. You should not have to go through this much change to clean it. I love this machine. I talk to three different people at ninja I was told to put in the dishwasher. I knew that wasn’t gonna work, anyway the last person I talked to finally admit this is a problem. She told me to use the water pick to try to clean it, but if you spend that much money on something, you shouldn’t have to do that, then I was told it wasn’t covered under the warranty and I’m on the list to buy a new vessel so machine is no good to me right now. It’s a design flaw.
Unfortunately a dishwasher will not get it out. I haven't used the dishwasher at all. I'll make a follow-up video to show how I clean it.. going to try using it for the 4th time. I had hopes they would have redesigned it.
It should be dry, where is the condensation? If it’s in the plastic area I’m mentioning, I would say normal for this design flaw, but not normal by any means.
Design flaw(or bad choice) but you can definitely clean that out . Its not easy and not convenient but its possible. Little brush similar yo the ones used to cleanstraws or like one of the other comments said use a water pick.
@@KnowYourProduce ok so this is definitely not a great answer for you but i soaked that side in hotwater for a bit and it seemed to work a little . no question that they should have sealed that with something. mold will grow in there .

I was told by support that gap should not be there and they are sending me a new vessel, but I now know how to get it clean.

The waterpik may actually help rinse it, but the problem is that it’s so tight the water becomes stuck and slowly dries inside. That’s where the concern truly is for this.
This is such a non issue. Use a paper clip or Q tip and clean it. You're making it like there's plastic being grinded into every drink. Such a non issue.
Thanks for your suggestion. I completely understand that some people might not see this as a major issue, but when spending $299 on a kitchen appliance, I believe it's important for it to be both functional and easy to maintain. That may work, but the issue is drying as well, as the water gets trapped.
@@KnowYourProduce, the waterpik worked. I dried it with compressed air (spray).
