The low sugar/high alcohol detection does not directly measure the liquid. What is does, is it’s measuring the temperature that the liquid is getting. If temp keeps decreasing but no slush is formed after a certain period of time it’s going to assume that your mixture either has low sugar or high alcohol. So it will take 30 minutes to tell because it’s time based
Thanks for the review! If you live in Canada, Canadian Tire has a special buy on this item for $349.99. Sale runs from September 5th to September 12th Currently at Lac Seul in North Western, Ontario. The bite is on!!🎣
I bought one after being on the waiting list 4 times. I tried coke slushi, margarita, sneaky pete, whisky/coke, gatorade/vodka, shirley temple slushi, and chocolate mikeshake over labor day weekend party. It as great. We did experience the error of too much sugar, and too much alcohol. Everyone loved it and wanted one. The cost was the only negative, we wish $249.99. On the margarita we did not use the book recipe and just put in premix that already had alcohol in it. As expected, it had TOO much sugar we added just a little water and it froze up nicely. We also set the milkshake to the coldest setting which is very close to a Wendy's frosty, but just misses it due to it having to be extruded by design. The sneaky petes were the best ever due to the consistency of the product. If you are on the fence, DO IT! I am still amazed I can have slurpees at home anytime I wish. A total game changer. FYI there are syrups that do have the brix freezing that are Sugar Free, hit Amazon if you are diabetic like me.
Nice video thanks. Some people have reported liquid getting stuck in the back of the machine that does not come out during the rinse cycle and that’s impossible to clean due to how it folds, leading to mold. Apparently it’s a design flaw. Has Ninja addressed this?
I just bought a Ninja for $191 (35% off on new credit card from Kohl's) and got another $60 off (Kohls dollars}brings it to around $130.Kohls has been sold out for awhile but I had to buy one with these discounts. Will be getting it sometime next week but very happy with my new toy...
got mines Sunday (model fs301) , total $330 included $10 shipping got it discounted $10 shipping but my tax was about $30 arrived about 3 days so still not to bad for machine that can make so many diff drinks to bad i did not find out about when summer almost over for sugar free(less) drinks i plan to use Rx liquid sweetener (an allulose sweeter)
Bought the kitchen tongs. Love them. As for this machine i almost bought it but it seems to sell out fast. Glad i had watched your review first because I don't really have room for it. I like what it does, but you are right, it is a luxury item and it would just take up space i don't have. I watch all you reviews. You two are awesome.
Not sure where you ordered this from. I am also in Canada and ordered it direct from Ninja Canada. Price was $399 Canadian and I signed up for a Ninja mailing list and received a 40% discount. with Tax delivered to Oshawa Ontario it was $406.00
Nice! It was not available from Ninja Canada at the time we ordered it. They always release products in the States before here. Thanks for watching! - J
Bought one, had some shaking on first batch making milkshakes, biggest concern is sll the parts look like they were made on expensive 3d printer... no stainless steel ...worried its just a motor surrounded by liquid and plastic, why couldnt they build this to look like it will last ten years... if im splurging on a luxury appliance, i dont want it to break...
I live in Ottawa Ontario Amazon is sell this $599.00 I purchased mine for $399. In store at Canadian tire they have like 10 in stock apparently they sell them in Walmart in store but was not able to fine one in store at Walmart. So if you want one in Ottawa go to Canadian tire on Carling ave. Before they are gone. I picked mine up on Oct 9 2024
Good idea for the person who has it all, but for me, it’s to big and bulky and seems to make only a few cups. What if the machine was running low, can we top it off with more ingredients to make more? Seems like it would throw the machine off
I think its a nice product but once u get into how much sugar to not add or how much liquor not to add... its a no no 4 me.. it has to slush what ever i put not restrict me
First of all thank you for this video and all videos you done. I didn't understand something. What the different between functions? All functions are rotating the auger and cooling the liquid. Instead rinse function that only rotating the auger. Is the different in temperature range or what? The speed of rotation looks same. I really don't like the control panel of this machine. Why Ninja couldn't use digital screen to show us the temperature? And why there only max and min lines and no more quantity indicators? I think that this machine could be better.
Looks fantastic, uses the same amount of time as it takes for the slushy machine to make cold drinks in the convenience store. Makes everything. Easy to clean. Can we get the price down to $200.00, please.
As always, Jamie & Marc, I LOVE your videos!!! Your opinions, I feel, are completely honest & unbiased!!! It is quite expensive! But if you have a lot of company for holidays (especially in the summer), baseball/soccer watching parties I could see it getting a lot of use! Especially for barbecues! This may be one of the few cases where being an early adopter can lead to a win. Personally im waiting for reviews on the Walmart one as you can get 4 years of warranty for like $30 more from All State/Walmart and as you know Ninja machines are great but do break and this is a pricey machine even at $300 since as your buddy says it only makes slushii's haha
Definitely would love one of the ninja slushy machines in our house. My only concern is if you switch from an alcoholic drink to a non-alcoholic drink do you need to do a full wash or can you safely do a rise cycle to remove all alcohol content fully.
Rinse cycle should be fine. Any tiny little bit of alcohol left would get very heavily diluted. May there be trace amounts of alcohol? Yes. But if you or your kids have ever eaten anything with vinegar in it, they will have probably consumed more alcohol than what is left in the device.

Just FYI, you can add allulose (sweetener) to zero/low sugar drinks to get it to slush. It makes the drinks a bit sweeter, but not dramatically.
