@cleaningservices101 fair enough but you really don't make that clear in the video. People are going watch and then use a normal kitchen pad which in 99% of cases will be a scotch pad (or generic equivalent). Most people have absolutely no idea how abrasive they are. Apart from that. Great video.

For the trays, you can use a hand steamer to remove the stubborn heavy grease as I found that the more dense grease will not come off even if you use lemon juice and hot water! It is often dense strips of grease along the tray sides or in the corners. The fans though are too covered by the heating elements to get to fully? And you sure can't shoot high heat steam up there! also the non-stick coatings of the crisping units at the bottom of the trays have in my case rubbed off allot even though I only used non-scratch pads. The non-stick liners for the crisping units really don't help cutting down on the grease on those crisping units. So I stopped using them.
Steam would be a great to use and we would use normally we have just designed this video for people who are looking for a quick and easy way, without any special equipment. You make some great points though thank you for sharing
To clean my mashine l, I literally took it apart once a year. So much horrible buildup that you cant see.. it smoked at times and you cook yoir food in that old oil buildup. After 4 yrs I sold it and now bought a "old style" Hallogen oven and WOW... easy to clean and to cook in, especialy if you dont eat much greasy food.
I’m not understanding the comment about not putting the trays in the dishwasher. You said you shouldn’t do this as the heat of the dishwasher will kill the rubber. But the rubber is designed to sit inside an air fryer that gets to 200+ oC. How hot is your dish washer?
Been putting our trays in the dishwasher for two years with no issue. The drawers we clean by hand after every use, I haven't cleaned up next the elements yet so they are due. But yeah, not had an issue with the trays in the dishwasher at all myself.
@@cleaningservices101 If you are talking specifically about Ninja air fryer then this is absolute rubbish. A dishwasher isn't going to harm any part of the basket or tray. The only damage I have done to the trays is using metal on metal.
@grahamjohnson4702 The tray is the crisper tray, it sits inside the drawer. It holds the food away from the bottom of the drawer and allows the hot air to get around the food, giving it a better crisp.
Having a ninja myself I always give trays and plates a clean in the sink washing up liq and a plain sponge. All comes up clean . The top is different so i do it after about 10 cooks. iv use dish tablets though I don't own a dish washer. It can be very fiddly and take time but can be cleaned, though manufacturers more interested in selling the product then designing clean ability. The manufacturer of mine has little on exactly how to clean heating area just skims over it in the instructions. Can I say from the comments that you mention fully reasons why not good to use something and even verbally state each process as visionary it maybe misleading what your watching as from comments ( standard green scouer , not rinsing clean water ,the salt content mixed with 100' + hot water etc ) some people need exact details. Probably why instruction manuals have to put ...do not place animals in microwave, do not place electrical devices in dishwasher , fingers in live sockets etc .. just cover their butts. I did enjoy the video 👍
it's not as simple as that on all models and it would void any warranty so we wouldn't advice it, this is usually a good enough method to keep the appliance in good condition
I have been putting my Ninja AF400 baskets in the dishwasher for two years without any damage whatsoever. I remove the trays first and they just go in one of the plate rack things. Series 8 Bosch dishwasher. I use salt, rinse aid and Finish tablets. Even with a thousand pounds of dishwasher, the baskets don't come out like they are brand new. Anyone who frequently cooks whole chickens will know what a mess they make of the baskets. Impossible to remove. Cleaning up inside the fans and elements is just asking for trouble and seems entirely pointless. Anything on the heating element will burn off anyway and as for the fan, you could bend a fin and cause an imbalance. If they were meant to be cleaned, they would be easily accessible.
Grease on the element doesn't burn off it turns to carbon and then causes inefficiencies and potential failure down the line, you are correct cleaning should be very careful but correct routine cleaning of all areas will help extend the life of the appliance and keep it more efficient.
Mate they are never gonna be easier to clean. The standard electric oven has been the same for 50 years. (Fan oven is a big air fryer) They are still a b*****d to clean in 2024 😂
I have an air fryer. My first little, cheap one was great until I dropped it from a great height. I hate my new one, it has cold spots, cooks the outside of the food too much, too quickly and doesn't hold as much as I would have expected from a bigger model. So I am thinking of upgrading to a microwave-airfryer combination oven. It would be easier to clean, too, that's the big draw for me. I don't know how well they actually work though? Anyone out there got one?
The only problem with that is the chemicals they're made of, but that's a personal choice not use that type of harsh chemical. Plus I always recommend rinsing that type of solution off when it's likely to come in to contact with food and using too much water doing that could cause damage
Frequent cleaning is always recommended yes but a good thorough clean of the top will always be needed eventually, thanks for your recommendation though 👍
Dishwasher tablets are great for cleaning stainless steel flasks too, put one tablet in the flask fill with boiling water, leave over night (lid off) and give it a good rinse the next day.
I use denture cleaning tablets. If it is good enough for something you stick in your mouth, it's good enough for the flask that holds something which you will later stick in your mouth. They rinse off more easily than dishwasher tabs do. Great also for removing tannin stains from cups and it only takes three minutes to kill germs and remove light staining.
@@NeathVideos👍baby bottle sterilising tabs should work, too. Using either kind of tablet, you can leave for the time specified to deal with light staining, or overnight for heavy staining.
I do not agree that the heat of the dishwasher damages the plastic corners as the temperature of the airfrier far exceeds that 200 degrees against 60-70 degrees.
It's got to be easier just to clean the baskets and the crisper trays after each use ? I put in silicone or paper liners and I still wash my basket out with soapy water and unplug the air fryer and clean round the heating element and fan each time I use it and let me tell you it's a lot easier than letting it build up to the point where you need to use a wire brush to clean it 😂. But honestly it's a lot easier if you clean it each time you use it. I just could not leave that grease and fat in the fryer 🤮😅 Great video. 👍
@@cleaningservices101 Yes that's true when people are working etc maybe just haven't got the time. But paper liners are great and do save a lot of hard work when it comes to cleaning. 👍
Usuing a normal scouring pad, which yours seem to be, will damage the non-stick finish and toxic bits will get in your food. You can buy pads designed for non-stick cookware.
@@cleaningservices101 My apologies. As another person mentioned in the comments, it is a shame that you didn't point this out in your video, because your fans will think you are usuing the normal ones and "copy" you because, hey, we trust you!❤
When turned on the dishwasher tablet nuetralising agents gets sens through the full machine which helps to neutralise smells, especially if you add half a lemon to each draw as mentioned in the video
18months old you say ? obviously not used every day. I clean my air fryer drawers every day after every use in hot soapy water and they don't look almost brand new like yours. far from it, I'd hate to think how grubby and blackened they would have been without the constant cleaning, and they still look well used 18month lol
It's not my appliance so I can't say how often it's used but I do agree it's in good condition, now it's cleaned but that's one argument for not cleaning it after every use as the products and materials you clean with will cause ware
@@cleaningservices101 The coating on my drawers has come off in places showing signs of wear, and I've only ever used dishwashing liquid and green plastic scrubbers on them. However, I have ordered a steam cleaner to clean the internal/heating element areas. Do you recommend any if any detergents added to the steamer?
oh 🤣🤣 I Didn't realise what you meant, I was just extremely slow, never been told that before 🤣 I mean I'll take it as a compliment but there are some big differences like I can clean, I bet he can't and he has a tonne of money & I have a tonne of stress 🤣
Absolutely I do ststae in the video we don't advice putting any parts in the dishwasher, thanks for reiterating the point and confirming a particular model
Wow what a mess on. Also who lets the tray get that dirty? I've got a 4 year old Corsori probably been used twice a week and entire drawer goes in the dishwasher every time. Run a pre heat after it comes out to dry it out. Good as new. Still perfectly fine. How many hours of cleaning misery have I saved in that time. The idea of cleaning the roof inside..... Never done that in 4 years. Maybe I'll not bother and replace it once it goes. 4 years plus is fine by me. No scrubbing.
Anything to void the warranty. Personally, the Ninja Kitchen videos for cleaning are good and if you clean regularly, then by the time it comes to a super big clean, it's time for a new one :-)
I think the lesson learned from this video is to clean equipment after each use. Only takes a short time and saves all the hassle. I wouldn’t want to eat at the house of the owner of the air fryer as food hygiene appears to be a problem for them. In the instructions for my Ninja Air Fryer, it is stated that the trays can be washed in a dishwasher, although I wash mine by hand. Don’t use a scourer to clean any non-stick surface, it ruins it. The advice in this video seems to be a good as the paint job on the back wall. Perhaps done by the same person? Not a good video. in my view.
My cleaning skills are better than my painting that we can agree on, however I stand by the advice given. The scouring pad is non scratch and although I wouldn't use it daily it would be fine for a deep clean. Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion
@@cleaningservices101 Thanks for the response. I think it maybe OK for occasionally use, yes, and also depends on the scourer I suspect. Thinking about it, if any person lets their air fryer get into that state, they probably won't worry about using the scourer anyway 😅. It's great you offer a good cleaning service for those that don't bother to clean properly. Use Frog Tape for painting corners, makes it so much easier. :) I will watch more of your videos as they are interesting, keep it going.
you really should be rinsing off the residue from the dishwasher tablets with clean warm water as these enzymes, abrasive and alkalines are not good for us. That's why dishwashers have a rinse cycle!
Yep I agree and should have stated that in the video, it was more due to not being in a kitchen with easy access to water for me not doing but certainly an oversight of not saying that, thank for the feedback
I cook then out tray in sink with a little dish detergent, and hot water. I use a little round scrub brush and rinse. First I would NEVER use that green scrubber thing, and never use dish tablet. Those are very acidic. The nonstick coating is not the best and those. Mine is 2 years old and looks better than yours after cleaning it.
God I wish I’d not even started, my air fryer won’t allow a ten minute cycle with water and dishwasher tablet, it ends after 3 mins, tried twice. Nothing gets the stuff off by the elements, what a waste of an afternoon and my kitchen is now a mess.
very sorry to hear that not sure why it won't let you run the cycle for longer, 3mins certainly won't be enough to get the cleaning solutions all round to help the clean, what air fryer do you have?
@@cleaningservices101 its an Instant vortex 6 in 1. Sorry about the post, I was frustrated and probably should have calmed down before I wrote my opinion.
@Nicky-ws9lz Don't worry at all I can understand the frustration, good results are possible with this method but it's crucial to get a longer cooking time to create the steam, I'll see if I can find anything further information out for you
There is a risk of damage in the dishwasher, especially if you have the chrome parts. Then there is the inner workings of the machine which is th most important part of a deep clean
This isn't mine, we did a free clean to create the video but some people just don't always have the time or just don't want to clean it after every use especially the hard to reach working parts

Yes sorry we did assume that as most people so these days but understand why people may not. The method is the easiest way we can find not necessarily easy for everyone but certainly the easiest in our opinion
It's no big deal to clean your basket and crisper tray after every use, that would extend the life even more, those baskets were disgusting, don't think they had been cleaned for 18 months either
You are absolutely correct, I just think many people live busy lifestyles these days and don't always clean their appliances straight away and then it just builds up and up
Bit hard to sack the owner of the company & it's a non scratch scourer, although I wouldn't recommend it for daily use, it's fine for deep cleaning on occasion, thanks for watching
It's the same with an element in the grill, if it builds up with grease it turns to carbon, once it turns to carbon it is less effective and can break plus the dishwasher can damage the material on the draws, but each to their own, you do you 👍
People are not "too busy" they are too bone idle. There is no excuse, whatsoever, for leaving those drawers in such a putrid and disgustingly filthy condition between uses.
You're entitled to your opinion but I don't think that's fair, you don't know everyone's personal situation. I wouldn't leave them like that but the person who owned this purposely didn't clean the drawers for a while for me and didn't know how to clean the rest, hence me offering to help
@@cleaningservices101 I take your point but many modern people do not have the discipline that their grandparents and previous generations took for granted. It is no use them making the excuse that they have day jobs and work hard. It takes but a few minutes to wipe out then wash the interior tray of an air-fryer: that is, five minutes taken away from their precious sitting down in front of a television sucking on their cigarettes and drinking ersatz 'beer' from a can. Sorry to put such a 'downer' on the modern generation but the vast majority of them have been brought up in a discipline-free zone of entitlement and cotton-wool wrapping.

I didn't mean the heat it's usually the salt and the high pressure jets of water and cause damage
@@ZG0002 what is the difference between the trays and the draws I don't understand?
@grahamjohnson4702 The tray is the crisper tray, it sits inside the drawer. It holds the food away from the bottom of the drawer and allows the hot air to get around the food, giving it a better crisp.
Try cleaning it in the kitchen sink mate , some washing up liquid and a scouter , 2 minutes job done .
That's fine for the drawers certainly wouldn't advice it for the internal workings
I'm sure that green pad would take all the non stick coating off the draws ?
You can unscrew an lift the heating element out to get to it better.
it's not as simple as that on all models and it would void any warranty so we wouldn't advice it, this is usually a good enough method to keep the appliance in good condition
I don't clean my element either and after 2 years + of use no burnt carbon and mine is not an expensive Ninja Or Cosori
Can't see the heat from a dishwasher damaging the crisper rubbers when they withstand 220°C in the air fryer.
It doesn't tend to be the heat it's usually the salt within the dishwasher, or the high pressure jets stretching them
@@cleaningservices101 Ahh, got it. No salt in my dishwasher.
Love it…. Cheers
You're welcome thanks for watching
I haven’t got an air fryer yet. I think I’ll wait until they change the design to make it easier to clean!
I wouldn't let this put you off they are really useful and makes life easier if you clean it after each use
Aerosol foam oven cleaner works a treat on the element and surround. Spray on, leave and wipe off.
The only problem with that is the chemicals they're made of, but that's a personal choice not use that type of harsh chemical. Plus I always recommend rinsing that type of solution off when it's likely to come in to contact with food and using too much water doing that could cause damage
A good idea etc. BUT our Ninja has hinged lit, so cannot turn it over, although can support it sideways, not as efficient.
Ah that's a shame, must make cleaning harder?
Half a lemon each drawer, once a week, 160c for 5 mins, rinse and repeat, bada bing
Frequent cleaning is always recommended yes but a good thorough clean of the top will always be needed eventually, thanks for your recommendation though 👍
Lemon and ?
Marko, your way sounds way too complicated and far from the easiest way described.
Dishwasher tablets are great for cleaning stainless steel flasks too, put one tablet in the flask fill with boiling water, leave over night (lid off) and give it a good rinse the next day.
Excellent idea. Thank you for sharing
I tried that recently, in a steel flask and even after rinsing out at least 30 times-I can still taste the tablet in my drinks..in the end I threw it
I use denture cleaning tablets. If it is good enough for something you stick in your mouth, it's good enough for the flask that holds something which you will later stick in your mouth. They rinse off more easily than dishwasher tabs do. Great also for removing tannin stains from cups and it only takes three minutes to kill germs and remove light staining.
@@jayawilder3835 good idea I will try them
@@NeathVideos👍baby bottle sterilising tabs should work, too. Using either kind of tablet, you can leave for the time specified to deal with light staining, or overnight for heavy staining.
I use an old toothbrush to clean my Nija and clean it on every use
The toothbrush trick is a very handy one
The heat from the dishwasher won’t damage the rubbers. They are designed to withstand much higher temperatures other air fryer!
I do not agree that the heat of the dishwasher damages the plastic corners as the temperature of the airfrier far exceeds that 200 degrees against 60-70 degrees.
I didn't mean the temperature would be the issue. It's more the salt and pressure of the jets
Is the ninja air fryer nonstick? I thought the scourer would damage the nonstick surface.
How much boiling water did you put in each tray
Not much 1/4 - 1/3 of the draw is plenty
JUST A BIT🤪
What number did you run it on
It was on high for 10 minutes
It's got to be easier just to clean the baskets and the crisper trays after each use ? I put in silicone or paper liners and I still wash my basket out with soapy water and unplug the air fryer and clean round the heating element and fan each time I use it and let me tell you it's a lot easier than letting it build up to the point where you need to use a wire brush to clean it 😂. But honestly it's a lot easier if you clean it each time you use it. I just could not leave that grease and fat in the fryer 🤮😅 Great video. 👍
Absolutely it is but people lead busy lives and don't always have the time or the inclination to clean their appliances every time
@@cleaningservices101 Yes that's true when people are working etc maybe just haven't got the time. But paper liners are great and do save a lot of hard work when it comes to cleaning. 👍
You're absolutely right
You're absolutely right & thank you for watching
@@cleaningservices101 cheers 👍
I clean mine after every use its only takes a minute
definitely the best way if you can
Usuing a normal scouring pad, which yours seem to be, will damage the non-stick finish and toxic bits will get in your food. You can buy pads designed for non-stick cookware.
These are non-scratch scouring pads and certified food safe but would always advise thoroughly rinsing as well
@@cleaningservices101 My apologies. As another person mentioned in the comments, it is a shame that you didn't point this out in your video, because your fans will think you are usuing the normal ones and "copy" you because, hey, we trust you!❤
Completely understand and will take the feedback on board, simple oversight that I'll try to avoid in future videos
Jesus why does it need a 16 minute video to clean this 😂😂😂😂
If it helps watch it on 2 x speed then it's only 8 minutes 🤣 Either way, I hope it was useful
What about an air fryer oven
Thankyou will have ago
You're welcome thanks for watching
What a grott clean the thing after every use
Thanks for watching
Dish washer tablet works wonders
That are great for so many other cleaning tasks that just in the dishwasher!
@ yes you are right.
Sorry but I have a problem with cleaning my ninja air fryer...any advise?
What seems to be the problem? I'll try to help
brilliant
Thank you
🤣🤣🤣 Ya Balloon
when it smells bad just buy a new one I tried cleaning one many years ago to no joy cos you can't get inside to clean the fan cus u can't dissemble it
When turned on the dishwasher tablet nuetralising agents gets sens through the full machine which helps to neutralise smells, especially if you add half a lemon to each draw as mentioned in the video
Why didn't I think of turning it upside down. Thank u.
You're welcome 👍
i wash down my tubs after each use and saturday mornings it gets a deep clean.your first example was disgusting how can folk live like that
Everyone has different standards don't they but I'm with you for sure!
Price William scrubs pretty well doesn't he?
Not sure what you mean?
@@cleaningservices101 Oh, I hope you took that as a compliment as you look quite a bit like him.
oh 🤣🤣 I Didn't realise what you meant, I was just extremely slow, never been told that before 🤣
I mean I'll take it as a compliment but there are some big differences like I can clean, I bet he can't and he has a tonne of money & I have a tonne of stress 🤣
Beware some air fryer parts like the Ninja 15-1 are not dishwasher friendly! That will discolour the metal parts.
Absolutely I do ststae in the video we don't advice putting any parts in the dishwasher, thanks for reiterating the point and confirming a particular model
also has anyone noticed that the element seems to live while clean i used to a minor shock while cleaning.obviosity i un plug it now
There can still be a current yes, that's why it's so important to unplug while cleaning
You unplug it now!!!! You mean to say that you started cleaning this while it was still plugged in!!!! What were you thinking?
Wow what a mess on. Also who lets the tray get that dirty? I've got a 4 year old Corsori probably been used twice a week and entire drawer goes in the dishwasher every time. Run a pre heat after it comes out to dry it out. Good as new.
Still perfectly fine. How many hours of cleaning misery have I saved in that time.
The idea of cleaning the roof inside..... Never done that in 4 years. Maybe I'll not bother and replace it once it goes. 4 years plus is fine by me. No scrubbing.
Hi put my airfyer parts in dishwaher hallway come clean then keep.airfyer clean look good then miss vjtwibell
yes that can work but there is a chance of damage to some parts due to the salt etc. but if you're happy it works then why no
Jet wash with snow foam , always works 😂😂
Not sure the wife would like that being done in the kitchen 🤣
Hope this is Ninja approved cleaning!!
😆 ask any manufacturers and they avoid the subject of cleaning or say just warm water, as they don't want appliances to last too long
Anything to void the warranty.
Appreciate your support and kind words, thank you 👍
you really should be rinsing off the residue from the dishwasher tablets with clean warm water as these enzymes, abrasive and alkalines are not good for us.
Sounds like you have a method you like, well done
Just clean it after each use
Simple
It's not rocket science
Duh.
😂
but some people don't whether that's because their busy or something else and you still need to make sure you clean everything
If I had to use a air fryer and it was like that, I'd eat the food raw. Who leaves it looking like that? It's absolutely rank.
I think it's usually a time factor but I get where you're coming from can't say I'd be happy leaving it like that either
Remind me never to let this whopper anywhere near my ninja ffs. Do NOT use scourers on your air fryer
These are non scratch, they won't do any harm 👍
@Nicky-ws9lz Don't worry at all I can understand the frustration, good results are possible with this method but it's crucial to get a longer cooking time to create the steam, I'll see if I can find anything further information out for you
@ thanks
why its the taste
some people do beleive that, but it can affect how it works
I give mine a soak in warm soapy water then run thriugh the dishwasher...... No smells, no problems.
There is a risk of damage in the dishwasher, especially if you have the chrome parts. Then there is the inner workings of the machine which is th most important part of a deep clean
And if one does not own a dish washer, then what? Hardly seems worth buying a box of tablets for occasionally cleaning the air fryer.
True but it's still a good method and you could always ask a friend for a couple of dishwasher tablets, thanks for watching
Why not just put it in the dishwasher?
You left chips stuck underneath the element. That’s no good.
The unit was completely clean once finished, we just showed you the before and after at the end
Why don’t you clean straight after use, much easier when you opened the drawers they hadn’tbeen cleaned at all
This isn't mine, we did a free clean to create the video but some people just don't always have the time or just don't want to clean it after every use especially the hard to reach working parts
It resembles how you ckean a microwave with hot water boiling p
You assume everyone has a dishwasher ! I'm 66 female obviously and have always done it myself it's so expensive to run one anyway ! Sorry what temperature u doing that at ?!?!?! Looks like a lot of Hassel I'm not turning my huge two drawer cosori upside down I live alone and it's not going to happen, looks onerous I thought u were going to show an easier way... how do u clean the fan completely it's impossible it's a design fault of course so what happens is people buy a new one....
You are absolutely correct, I just think many people live busy lifestyles these days and don't always clean their appliances straight away and then it just builds up and up
Quite agree also clean mine after use
That seem like a lot of arduous work for no real gain. I Just put the drawers in my Dishwasher every night.
Each to their own but a full deep clean is highly recommended to keep the inner workings effective
Why let it get that dirty. We clean ours after every cook!
That is the best way but some people don't, possibly due to time
Using an a brasive pad to clean the non stick drawers is a no no. Should be sacked.
Bit hard to sack the owner of the company & it's a non scratch scourer, although I wouldn't recommend it for daily use, it's fine for deep cleaning on occasion, thanks for watching
Deep clean.. that airfryer isnt that dirty that it needs a deep clean. #clickbait
I'd beg to differ but either way the method still works, thanks for watching
Do not try this as it killed my ninja as we all no water and electric do not mix and the steam of water fried the circuit board...😢😢😢😢
You do have to be careful with how much water hut the steam should not cause any harm unless there is pre existing damage to the element
I just get the wife to clean it

@@cleaningservices101 She probably already left-home.....

If all these people clean their air fryer after each use, why are you watching this video?😊
Well there is that but I appreciate everyone taking an interest
if you want to ruin your air fryer and shorten it s lifespan, then follow these simple and "easiest" haha steps.
Not sure why you think this would shorten the lifespan but thanks for watching either way
Seems like a lot of hassle for absolutely nothing & a complete waste of time.
Stick the trays in the dishwasher job done.
It's the same with an element in the grill, if it builds up with grease it turns to carbon, once it turns to carbon it is less effective and can break plus the dishwasher can damage the material on the draws, but each to their own, you do you 👍
Lots of people don't own a dishwasher ok !!!
@ If that’s the case the op shouldn’t mention you’ll have one of these dishwasher tablets kicking around but clearly you don’t listen
Pointless cleaning trays like that, just use a liner and clean crisper tray after each use,
that's one way of doing it
Ninja told me never use boiling water as will damage non stick
Not sure why that would be, hor oil is more likely damage the non-stick than water
