I'd recommend heating up the ring gear with a gas burner or blow torch and then hammering it out as oppose to just hammering it out so you don't damage the ring gear or the diff AND it's a lot easier however if you've done this before without it and not damaged anything then that's new info for me.

was the 1.5 way for an altezza, and if so, what brand was it. looking for one for mine, but im just seeing a bunch of 2 ways.

Yeah just use the plastic hammer and spun it and it was fine.
I can see how heat would definitely help though
