Great tutorial! Just wondering, if the tracking point leaves the screen due to camera pan movement will the attached element (e.g text) also leave the screen with the pan movement?
5 minutes only useful information! You're awesome! But, is there a way to convert "single point tracker" animation curve to path(like vector path in Illustrator)?
I wonder if you are still available to answer me. Whenever I apply motion tracking, the trackpoint has different shape, ie one rectangle instead of double white rectangles.
Great tutorial! I just have one thing, When I have two points tracking and I set everything and set parent, the solid i'm using does not follow. Any idea on how to fix this? Do solids not track?
Thank you for your tutorial. I have a question, how do you parent a Paint effect like a Clone to a Two point tracker like position and scale? I tried with the null object but it seems like the scale works but the position no. Should I whip the position of the clone to both the Feature centers from the two trackers by subtracking them?
is it possible to do this with adding a pin for a pivot point ? what i mean if if for example i record a video with a drone of a round about in top down, i want to have the car tracked and the video rotating around the center of the round about ? Possible i guess but how :)
What do you do when you want to track a screen that isn't perfectly rectangular- such as a vintage tv. It has a curve to the sides. Can you add more than 4 track points so it maps the curve of the TV?
If the screen isn't perfectly rectangular, you can add a rounded rectangle mask onto the footage layer. Pre-compose the footage layer (shift + cmd/control + C), then go up to your mask controls in the top toolbar. Click on the rectangle tool arrow and find the rounded rectangle tool (or hit Q twice). You should be able to move the mask points to match the contour of the screen. You can take it a step further and use Mocha Pro to actually curve it. Here's a blog about it! blog.pond5.com/20827-how-to-track-and-replace-logos-on-curved-surfaces-with-mocha-pro/
Great tutorial. But why do you need to use the null object? I was able to choose my text layer as the target and it worked just fine. Any particular reason?
Very nice tutorial, was just wondering how to continue tracking when the object is already off screen and you have new points on screen that you could continue tracking. but obviously they are in a new place making the tracking "jump" hope you can guess what i mean. thank you as in, i was tracking a building with a hyperlapse but an object crossed my tracking points but i want to continue stabilizing with other objects while the object finishes crossing.
Hi there! If something crosses in front of the object you are tracking, you can just make your best guess at where you think the object is and move the tracking point manually, then watch it back and see how it looks. If you don't like that, use something that stays in the frame throughout your entire hyperlapse as the tracking point instead, and then just adjust the position of your preferred layer. As long as it's parented to the null with the tracking data (target layer), you should be able to position it wherever you want. You shouldn't change the tracking point mid-track; that would cause a lot of problems.
It looks so simple, but this has never, ever, worked for me. My target anchor is drunk. No matter how big or small the capture area or the shape, contrast or colours of the point it is set on, it just always veers off in some other direction.
He didnt specify which layer to apply the track motion to, try to track motion via null layer then parent the object/footage to the null. Videos like these are just too annoying to watch sometimes
@@brianlourds you can't track from the Null object because only video file are the only thing it able to track.. Dont forget to put the apply track to Null layer, so u can parent ur object to the Null layer later
this is so confusing. Where do i even find the "tracker" on the right panel? the tracker option isnt always right there to click. :( could you have shown us that?
The tracker is usually located on the right-hand side of the program when you open it, but if it's not there you can always open it by going up to the toolbar and selecting Window > Tracker. Happy tracking!
I find this surprisingly hard still lol. Can someone help me... 1. Do I need to put a green screen image to the location of my video before I insert the video onto the video? 2. Is there a render button I should press so that the video knows where the other video position is going to be? Because all I got is a white square on my video that looks like a drawing on my laptop screen 😅
@@cordless157 No its not. It is a VERY basic video. One of the first things you learn. And it was still fast because not everyone has these locations memorized. I also watched it 5 or 6 times and I use AE all the time. Good video, just needs to say where things are instead of having them magically appear.
Yes, you can do something a little more basic and draw a shape or create a mask using the opacity controls in the effect controls of your video layer in Premiere. Make your mask and hit the track forward or backward button, then adjust it as it tracks. Here's a blog about it! blog.pond5.com/19134-how-to-create-and-track-masks-in-adobe-premiere-pro/

Hi David! These shots are from various locations (link in description). Our digital nomads shoot from their camper.
It would be interesting to make a tutorial with a moving image and apply an optical flares light
