I first acquired and used After Effects back in the mid-'90s when it was CoSA After Effects...just before Adobe bought it! Big changes, natch!

This is very inspiring if awe, and I just have to say thank you. I may have been able to figure this out from searching through adobe, and trial and error, but even after the amount of time that's take, I still would have no understanding if the concept behind a lot of features.

For the motion graphics (like the white circles with connected lines), looks like you created them using masks on white background. Can you also just simply draw a white circle and do the same thing? If so, what is the reason for choosing this method?

Hey, just use the pick whip and connect the image with the null. That should solve the problem!!

Great tutorial! Just one suggestion, decrease the loudness of your music. Its much louder than the rest of the video and always gave me a jumpscare XD. This is the first video I've watched of yours and I'm sure I'll continue to. It would also be nice if you could mention how you animated the lines to grow while tracking

I can not get the "Smoother" effect to work in AE? I have tried looking it up but I still can not find anything on it? Do you have or suggest something I could check out that goes more in detail on that effect?
Hey! Go to the "window" tab. There you should find it! It is not an effect, but a tool! ;)

How did you do that? You manually created the key frames
Hey, nothing easier than that. When you already have keyframes on a specific property, like in this case on the postion, all you have to do is change the position and the keyframes get created automatically. So all i did is manually reposition the null object and the keyframes were made for me!

Sorry for the Dumb question .. im very new. I followed your direction but at creating circle at 7:45 to 8:05 ... My screen goes black and all i see is the circle
you have to selekt the layer first, by clicking on it once before creating the mask. does that solve the problem?
to be honest, I liked the tutorial and it helped for sure, but I was hoping for you to also explain the animations we see at the end. so "this is what we will learn today" kind of missed it's point.

instead you could also hold down (not pressing but holding down) the space bar
hey i love this video! i just have one problem. i did everything up until you copy the position to the points of your shape layer tracker thing. But everytime i do that nothing happens to the points on the shape layer. and it seams like you were done after that and it started following the position but mine just doesn't? i really dont know what have done wrong since everything else worked. i know its an older video but i really hope you can help me with this one :/

@@flo.motion the very last part everything worked. When I copy and paste the motion. In your vodeo it shows right after pasting that the lines are tracked mine just doesn't. Nothing happens and idk why

thanks for the tutorial, just watched part 1 and am wondering how do you manually added keyframes to the bit of the "Farm House" tracking path? was is simply by copy paste on each frame? thanks!!
as there are already keyframes, I just delete the "wrong ones" then i manually position it and that should automatically create new keyframes for you!

this tutorial is great thank you so much for sharing! I have two questions. First, in the beginning of the video when you have that line motion tracking your forehead, how were you able to have just the one end of the line moving, while the rest of it was static? Second, how did you get the line to animate as if it's being drawn?
Hi, Thanks!! I only partented one Null to the line and the other one I left static, so only one end is moving. The Animation was done with the "stroke" effect. If you animate the end or start, you will get that look

Hey, I have one question, how did you get the point tracker on your face at the beginning of the video follow the motion of your head so perfectly with there being nearly no distinct features? I would really appreciate an answer.
he, i painted a black dot on my face… so it wasn't that hard to track! also if you have a solid track it is Pretty easy to remove the track point later on!!

how did you do the second effect where the text is stationary while the line tracks the dot in your head?
Exactly the same way as with to moving o jects. Just put it to a bill that is not animated and put the null on the position of the text.
The video is too far; texts are too tiny.

Hello i am trying to do a inflation effect that track a specific target. For example, maybe an inflation head but i want to the inflation stay in track to whereever the head moves to. Is there any tutorial for that? Or how to make your puppet effect follow a target?
hey, you can do that by using a simple expression! Simply link the position of the puppet to the position of the track! You can do that by holding down "alt" and click on the position of the puppet, then you will see a "lasso" icon appear! Then simply drag and drop the lasso over the position of you track! Now they are linked to each other! Wherever your track moves, your puppet will move too!!

Want to draw animated line that is controlled by two nulls on both ends with a beam effect. can't sort out the solution.
My purpose is to draw animated parametric line with track motion on both ends.

Hey. Create your path with 2 points (endpoints) go to window --> all the way down to "Create Nulls From Paths" --> now you have some options to choose from, depending on what you created first; the path or the nulls. Those nulls can be your tracking nulls or you simply parent them to other nulls. Let me know if that worked for you!!
well, doestn work, all steps takes as should and the text stays the same, dosnt move

Hey, you can! But AE is a subscription program since a few years, so you will have AE 2021 anyways if you start using it!

Nothing easier than that: simply click on the mask, then press ctrl+c for copy and then ctrl + v for paste.

because you are on the tracking tab of the after effects tracker. you need to go to the "effects & presets" window instead and type in "mocha". then it should look like mine

@@flo.motion I cant put any vfx effects in. Some are mov files. When I try to drag and drop I get nothing. Same issue with some presets. Also when I track in mocha I cant make it track for let's say 15 seconds then the bull object doesn't link when I try to add a graphic to the tracking data.

hey, not sure what exactly you mean? It is the same technique like in the tutorial, just one of the nulls / points is not tracked. That is exactly the position where I have put the text to. Does that make sense to you?
