Oh man! I’d kill for this in my Range Rover Classic in that little tray smack dab in the middle of the dash. I’ve been wanting to turn it into an overland rig, and that’d be the perfect way to handle a tablet.

You're going to need to put some bracing under the dash, like a plate of aluminum with holes drilled in it. The ABS won't be able to handle the flexing of an extended RAM mount with a load like a tablet on it for a long time. Ask me how I know :D

What’s a good average price to rebuild an engine on one of these discos? Or would it be better to swap out with an another engine?

D1 engines are actually pretty damn solid. D2 engine blocks have always been sketchy as shit, the younger the more suspect. To the point where it may be silly to rebuild a d2 engine without a D1/p38/rrc doner block.

Thats actually kind of slick. Quick question: My right center and right passenger dash vents are blowing ambient air (the others are blowing ice cold). Is there a mechanical link to the right vents via the right temp knob (Softdash RRC) or is there some sort of electrical gizmo that could be the cause? After sitting for a few weeks, I turned on the AC and it blew the 30(?) amp under the hood. replaced it and now I got the ambient air on the right side vents.

I dunno, that restricts the effectiveness of your ac system. Now it’s not gonna cool down/heat up as fast.
