I picked it up because i like Alex Costas hairstyle a lot. I like the product so far and i dont care about the presentation or the publicity only about the results.So far so good for me .
Glad it works for you. And yeah like I said, it's certainly not a bad product in terms of performance. However in my opinion it's so similar to all the other heavy clays out there, and many of the others are a little more user-friendly (easier to scoop/breakdown/apply), and I also prefer something with a scent. Cheers.

@@TDMStyle yeah it's really good. Hair feels smooth with it, you can even use it as a pre styler and post.. Or both.. It's literally a silky matte finish. Super nice hold that is very resilient to heat too. What I love doing nowadays is to pop in a pinch of crafted as pre styler and I finish with a little scoop of this bayside pomade.. I find it gives really good results as they're both light but both have great definition and hold. I have the stickmore styling cream but now, I find it to be too dry and not enough hold compared to these two.. So I'm gonna give that and the good fellow and co clay away to a buddy of mine who's got short hair. Those will work better for him.

The bottom is not any softer. Forte is just hard af.

TDM Style No problem. 😊 Also, Alex did mention in a video of his that you can use a blow dryer to heat up the product before using it. I can’t swear by that because I’ve not yet tried the product but that trick might be helpful so that you don’t accidentally use too much in the future.

@@TDMStyle I think you would've really liked the Wax collaboration, too bad it was limited. It's got a really nice neutral finish with lots of texture and, when used in smaller amounts, that natural flow you love.

Hmm tough to pick just 3 lol - but some of my absolute favorites right now are Oasis by Templeton Tonics, Hustle from TheSalonGuy, Fuertes clay, Stickmore clay fiber, and if you're looking for a solid traditional heavy clay, Baxter of CA used to be my shit for a long time.
How does this compare to blumaans clay?

What are your top clays/clay pomades for thin/mid thin and tough hair? I'm looking for a strong hold and natural shine finish. I'm actually using Arcadian matte paste, it has a great hold but for me it's a bit too mat. I liked apothecary 87 clay pomade, but I prefer a water-based product. I'm considering the firsthand supply clay pomade, Kevin Murphy rough rider clay, Firsthand supply clay pomade, maroccanoil texture clay, Templeton Tonics Oasis clay.

First time seeing you and you're hilarious man! Had me dying at the end. I love Alex Costas content and product but I agree it could be better but it's definitely not that bad. There's way worse products.

I mean yeah there are plenty of options based on what you want. Patricks is very expensive but in terms of "hair health centric" ingredients it definitely takes the cake imo.
Love your reviews, but don't agree with your scent opinion. I've had to stop using products because they smell too strong. Rather a light or no scent. No one has mentioned baxter of California clay pomade which has been my go to, along with moroccanoil texture clay. Im assuming its very similar to baxter?
Yeah I’d say it’s similar to Baxter as well, but imo Baxter is just better. Easier to use with similar hold strength.

No intended offense to Alex. I used to subscribe to him and he seems like a pretty good dude but I feel like this clay is just him releasing a product he knows will sell because it has his name on it.
I agree with you and I also feel he's creating and selling his own products because pretty much every fashion and lifestyle 'influencer' is doing it and Alex is jumping on the bandwagon. I'm sure he's a cool guy, but it's a shame to think that people will buy products only because it has a certain individual's name on it - and say for example, if that product was just generally bad, people will still support it because it's branded and because it has a name on it.

If u guys have actually been following Alex for a while u would know what type of person he is🤦🏼♂️. He’s been working on this product for 17 months before released. Its $18 which is a huge steal and it works amazing, nothing exaggerated.
@@arhamspall1190 Easy there fan boy lol kidding. I followed Alex for a couple years actually and even stated he seems like a pretty good guy on my original comment. It's just way to coincidental that multiple of the biggest men's influencers on RUclips all come out with their own product lines after reaching high levels of popularity. Alpha, Jose from TMF, Alex etc, and they all have a common theme. Tiege is fine but nothing mind blowing, Hudson and Maine seems fine but nothing really mind blowing and now Forte which again is fine but nothing mind blowing. Doesn't make it a bad product, just uninspired like Matt said in this video.

I wouldn’t consider them “concerns,” just commentary and my observations and opinions on what I thought was a silly and weird commercial.
Also, imo when you have to heat a product up with a hair dryer to be able to scoop it, I’d hardly call that an “on the go” product lol
Great honest review Matt. Seems like a thick ass version of claymation to me. Will probably give this one a miss. On a side note I don’t feel so bad about my first review being 16 mins. It actually goes surprisingly quickly once you get into the video.

Great question! I do love Templeton’s labels, and the ones for Nevermore and Phantasm were sickening. I think for overall best packaging like the container itself, I gotta give it to Patricks.

In one word I would describe it as mediocre. Or you could watch the review and learn all the details about it ;)
It's odd how u make it sound like the clay seems rather average yet concede it compares pretty well to other leading hair products in the market.... Traditional heavy clay that sounds like it's pretty top of the pack. Idk cuz I haven't tried it and I need a heavy clay and ur review sounds negative while kind of giving it major props
It _is_ rather average. Does it work? Sure. Is it easy to scoop, break down and apply? No. Is it unique or exciting in any way? No. I would hardly consider it "top of the pack" and I'm certainly not giving it major props. I'm presenting the pros and cons - in the end you have to decide whether or not you want to try this. In my opinion though, there are plenty of similar options out there that are just plain easier to use, with a similar price tag and essentially the same end styling result. Like I said in the video, this clay isn't bad performance-wise. But it's not very user friendly, and it's just... boring. If you want a traditional heavy clay, I'd say you're better off going with something like Baxter clay pomade.

No, I'm saying the packaging is basic. It looks the same/extremely similar to a ton of other brands/products out there. Like to the point where if you put them all on a shelf next to one another and blocked out the names, it'd be hard to tell them apart. Obviously that doesn't matter to the performance of the product, as I stated in the video. But people care about eye catching/attractive packaging too. And for me, this ain't it. The quality is fine, but it's boring.

I appreciate the feedback. But I am not really sure what you mean by "slowdown bit" - do you mean the reverb edits? I don't usually do any slow down/slow motion type edits.
TDM Style yeah maybe I didn’t use the right lingo sorry - the actually content I enjoyed - I’ll give you a couple of times 3:25 and 13:52 - when it slows down and you try and make a joke - I just didn’t feel it went with the video as a whole - since I’ve watched a couple other videos like your Morris motley ones as I’m interested in that product too and I’ve subscribed - but just a bit of feedback 👍
I used to really like watching Alex, but not so much anymore. I wish him well, and hope his product does well, but I am not interested myself. I think he's selling himself more than a product.

It seems like you have something against Alex. People want to know if the product works well. They don’t care about the presentation or commercial for it. Personally it’s been great for me. It keeps my hair locked in place all day and I’m able to adjust it anytime I want unlike other hair products. Also I like that the product has no real scent because I use colognes all the time. You don’t want to be that person that has mixed smells all around them. Its an all around good product. Good amount of product and good product.
Wasn’t a fan of the clay maybe if they release a cream or pomade I’ll like it better , solid review brodie 🍩🍩
