As for the Yugoslav Sherman tank with a 122mm gun, I know 100% that there actually were two, because they were located in my military base where I served in the army. That was some 20 years ago. Since that military base does not exist, I don't know what the fate of those two Shermans was, they most likely ended up in scrap metal.

My nominations for more cursed variants:
    - Mine Exploder T8: Fitted with an array of jackhammers to detonate mines.
    - Mine Exploder T12: Covered in rockets to blast a path through minefields.
    - French river monitor L 990: M4 on a boat.

I've never heard of the L 990 before. That is hilarious. I was not expecting it to very literally be an M4 on a boat when I looked it up. I figured it would be the turret, like the Soviet river patrols with theT-34 turrets, not the entire hull minus tracks and all the other motive parts.

The M36B Jackson had a Sherman chassis. There were more Sherman chassis available than the standard chassis they needed. The crew like the ball mounted machine gun in the radio operator position as it better gave support against enemy
Infantry than the .50 cal M2 on the turret. It was, as remembered, a 90mm gun armed vehicle.

I thought I knew a lot about Shermans. I have been humbled and proven wrong. The only ones I knew about was the T10, Aberdeen proving ground M4 Improved and the Persman (M4/T26 but I like the name you came up with for it.) the latter two thanks to WoT and WT. I think I use to know about the T53 but it had faded from my memory. I had expected some of the more well known cursed variants but it was nice to see some of the lesser known oddities like from Argentina and Israel not being the M-51.

When I was a kid in the 1960s, there was a gutted Sherman hull, in the playground of a local park. It was filled with sand, and the main gun barrel was welded shut. All the small protrusions, were also removed and resulting holes welded and ground smooth. Just something for the kids to climb over. Next to it was an old firetruck, similarly modified.

For all the faults or vonrability you might normally associate with the M4 - drowning at sea wasn't normally a danger to the crew in most variants. My thoughts:
-I fully expected the T52 to make it on the list. Basically a Sherman kugelblitz
-I expected the Shrike launcher on the list, much prettier than the MAR-290
-I'm a big fan of the T-33. Imagine the T-31 but for flame throwers instead of rockets, only this one kind of lived on into a production vehicle with the POA flame thrower Shermans. Also it was an HVSS Jumbo, which just looks awesome
-The Degem Yud really should have been on this list IMO. I'd argue it's the most unique post-war Sherman. The IDF wanted something lower profile to compete with the Soviet T-55, so they sawzalled the middle out
    - I feel like special mention should have been given to the Paraguay Repotenciadios since they were in service until 2018. They almost served into the Covid era!

To be fair, I couldn't guess which of the bazillion Shermans and Sherman-based vehicles you'd consider cursed so I gave up on guessing to begin with, but I knew only 4 of them before (and one of the honorable mentions), and the variants mentioned outside the list. I wasn't familiar with the Argentinian super Sherman, Israeli rocket Shermans, mine roller Sherman, demolition Sherman, and the 90mm spg Sherman, plus the second variant of the M4 Improved.

My favorite memory is getting to help re route fuel lines for a M4 with the R975 radial after they determined the original fuel tank was too rotted so we had a 15 gallon plastic fuel tank in the crew compartment

The Skink should be included in this list (Canadian Grizzly Sherman, with special quad 20mm turret; one vehicle saw very brief but extremely effective service, albeit in an anti-infantry & anti-materiel role).

Watching the first nine plus the honorable mentions: Yeah, a little weird, but not too cursed.
Seeing the T53: unholy abomination, a crime against all that is good and righteous.

Well since I'm a War Thunder enjoyer myself I have encountered the odd Sherman variant myself so I'll take a guess.
    - T26 turret
    - Skink AA
At least two of Hobart's funnies so:
    - Crab minesweeper
    - Duplex Drive amphibious 'showercurtain'
    - Israeli M51 Super Sherman
Jamming in a gun sideways is both genius and cursed so
    - Firefly
    - Calliope
    - another Israeli abomination, the MAR 240 sideways rocket pod

I'm surprised you didn't mention the T105, Chilean M60, 75mm Krupp Sherman, Indian Sherman armed with the D56-T 76-mm, T52 MGMC or the T36 GMC to name a few

I surprisingly knew almost all of these, the only two I didn't get was the other paper prototype of the Improved Sherman and the 90MM one.
And for those who might ask, I personally play War Thunder, and like to look it it's reddit "Suggestions" tab. Some people post asking for these as event/prem/TT vehicles. It's fun as you can find some really strange vehicles in there.

Hard to keep count, was aware of the MLRS (why?), M26 turret, and some of the other "big noses" that never went into US production. But some the other foreign monstrosities, sheesh!

I only found out about the T 53 yesterday so we (me and my brother) barely won. I think the curved gun shield looks worst, but the rear mount also makes me think of the Panzer IV Waffentrager.

Definetly wanna see some of those Shermans in War Thunder either as event tanks, or premiums or even in some cases tech tree vehicles. (And yes you showed some new variants that I wasn't aware of)
