Before ya'll comment, yes I am aware he received a nerf to his super damage on the SS4 Gogeta patch. This character is definitely still S tier in my opinion.
My opinion of Buu is actually that I think he is one of the most well designed characters in the game, despite the fact that I hate playing against him. I think that other characters should just be buffed to roughly around his level. The reason you may not see him as much is because he fairly difficult and has a higher skill expression than *SOME* S tier characters.

They're not really failed attempts, because they can easily make Kid Buu dog shit if they wanted to. There's just really not much need to.

Kid Buu seems like he’s been insanely good in most DB fighting games like Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi. Glad to see he’s still like that in FighterZ lol
When i played 1v1 with my friend on xenoverse he always picked kid buu,and he always spammed his ultimate lol

Even beyond those games; Kid Boo is consistently one of the best characters in every fighter the series has had, with MAYBE the exception of Ultimate Tenkaichi and Battle of Z, but those barely even count as fighting games as Ultimate Tenkaichi is more an "anime fight simulator" with rock/paper/scissors based gameplay and Battle of Z isn't remotely balanced like a normal fighting game due to it's RPG-esque classes.

And as someone who plays DB Legends, hes above average, and I'm not that competitive so I'm not continuing further.
So, what I'm hearing is that Kid Buu is generally applicable in every situation and is very safe and noncomittal to use. Solid at any range, and in any combination of ground and aerial combat, with lots of mobility options.
So, he's soldier from TF2.

Kid Buu is like Lucina in SSBU, no really op move or strategy, but no real weakness.
I like these kind of characters because you have to be good to play them since they don't carry you with a move

Definitely, well rounded but amazing characters are always a blast to use because they both give the power trip and the honest and clean feel, with these characters it doesn't feel like you're doing a broken tech or gimmick or something, it just feels like you're playing the game really well
Its this kind of playstyle that I find the most compelling to learn about. Perfectly average in almost all aspects of the game, but when placed in a roster of extremes, that same averageness leads them to being wholly unique. Another good example is the soldier in tf2. Perfectly middling on paper, but in practice? Completly bonkers in the right hands.

I think it's cause of the ingrained idea that Kid Buu was the "final boss" of the franchise for so long. For years (before Battle of Gods revived the series) he was the final opponent fought, so it feels natural for developers to make him stand out as a powerful character

Technically Zamasu has received 2 nerfs:
- 5LLL no longer is unscaled (this meant his tick throw was lethal, you only had one guess)
- 2H is 2f slower. For some reason. I don't why this nerf exists. They buffed it in season 2 to be 15f then nerfed it back. I don't know why they did that. It's the only time I've seen Arc Sys revert something.

Kid buu is un-nerfable because since he can barely read the patch notes arcsys give him are written in crayon but he just eats the notes and since he gains power from eating crayon the patch notes only make him more powerful
This video makes me cry as a 16 main, because although I mained him back in season 1, I wasn't good at fighting games so I couldn't capitalize on the constant hard knockdowns. Now I just dunk to relive the glory days .
This is actually a beautiful video. The dbz references and manga shots of Buy to show off his moves, Buu audio and anime edits that are really clean, and a good explanation of why Buu has always been good. Just more spectacular and entertaining work from Bagel👏🏾

I honestly love kid buu probably one of my favorite characters to play and fight in fighterz he's just so well designed that I can't get mad when I get wrecked by a good buu because they're just good because he takes quite a bit of skill to learn and it's nice to have a good character not be immediately s tier for new players

It was more Cell/Bardock who ran season 1, 16 was only relevant for a couple months while those two picked up where he left off and carried to the end.
i agree to some extent, however i think 16 provides a better example in the context of this video because he was more imbalanced than those two.
You could definitely make the case for bardock. However, people started dropping cell at the end of s1, while bardock and 16 stayed as the most popular picks in S1.

Kid Buu may well be the best-designed OP character in all of video games, solely because there's nothing you can do to make him NOT OP without outright taking his tools away.
I really don't agree with the idea that he's well balanced. He literally only has upsides. He doesn't just have everything a character could want like Bardock, everything you could want Kid Buu has with all the strengths and literally none of the downsides that come with those strengths.
