It is my first time on your channel and I have just subscribed. Thank you so much for sharing. Keep up the good work. All the best on this journey. You deliver such valid information.
I see you have a date tree behind you. I have planted 11 date trees, oranges, mangoes, figs, jackfruit, papaya, passion fruit, guavas, avocado and I also planted wood trees so that I can harvest my wood from the same place. Here in Karamoja Uganda the place is hot but my food forest has cooled down my compound.
I feel like paying you a visit😀 That's a whole orchard in a dry area, definitely wonderful shades. How do you manage passion fruit in really hot times?
@EncoreRay how I manage passion fruit in hot times is putting cow dung around their stem base. The dry cow dung absorbs the water I water and helps to keep moisture for the plants. I do it for all my plants. Also when any small rain comes the dry cow dung keeps that moisture also.
First get seeds of a date or fig. Make sure it's not the packed ones because most times the packed ones kill seeds. Let the seeds dry properly and once dry, soak the seeds in water for 4 to 6 days. Keep changing this water every other day. Then plant the seeds in a pot with good soil about 1 cm deep. Keep the soil moist but not wet and keep the pot in a warm place since dates and figs flourish in hot areas. When seedlings appear, keep changing pot sizes until you feel it's secure to transplant them in a garden or field. Good luck.
You can start with snake plant (the irony😀), lemongrass, lavender, mint, rosemary, basil and many more aromatic herbs with strong scents. I think even tobacco.

@DOVEPreachers oh yeah. Cow dung manure is so special. I use it too in coffee and banana plantations in the farm upcountry.

@@EncoreRay Does wild tobacco repel snakes as well ?
