Ok Shelly, you won't saying anything but I am. Those ppl talking rudely about your kitchen or whatever else is simply that, rude. It's uncalled for. Anywhoo, love the recipes especially the first two! I love chkin thighs! Lately I've been making a lot of egg loafs or muffins with eggs and cream cheese(base ingredients) and flavoring, blend and bake. Gives me French toast without the bread LOL. I'm in the process of packing to move and easy meals are perfect right now! ❤️
Perfect timing with the chicken thighs. Have some that needs to be cooked today but wasn’t to excited about them, but now I know what to do with them. So easy and looks very yummy. Thank you.❤️
Love your channel you have helped me when the medical profession has not. Funny you saying you like to visit grocery stores. I ,BT Gods grace, have been able to travel. I’ve visited grocery stores in Jerusalem,Morocco,Egypt,Australia,Canada,France and it is sooo interesting and fun to see how different they all are and what they sell. Keep up the good work and thank you again
Fun video! I saw a ‘cat tail’ go by behind you! 😸😸😄. And yes those Aidelle sausages taste so good!! Great idea to cook in crock pot and Thks for these recipes! Your videos/recipes are so very much doable. So grateful to you! 👏👏👏 Ahna. Atlanta Ga.
Thank you so much for your recipes I am a borderline diabetic and I need to get my blood sugar under control so thank you! I am a new subscriber. I will be using these they look delicious!
To keep the juices in the onion, peel the onion but leave the roots attached has always worked for me. Thanks for the information and recipes! Good luck with the onions! Also, wearing contact lenses helps!
AND a little teeny bit of sugar in a big jar of Sauce….is spread out over the whole dish in that crockpot! Not an issue for us. OR can buy the (no sugar) sauces and add Swerve…the healthy diabetic sweetener. It’s at Walmart, etc. Again….we are thrilled with your video recipes!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏 Ahna

I really appreciate. This video. I have regained weight been back on keto. Week. I do feel better already. I have a family one teen. They eat what I make for dinner. Sometimes run out of ideas! Don't want to think lol thanks Jennifer 😊
I'm new to the Pre T2D - on board with all the changes I've made (with help from my amazing girlfriend and supportive friends) I'm trying the second recipe tonight (sausage/coleslaw) So grateful for your channel and insight.
You say you're not fancy, but I haven't found palmini lasagna pasta in any grocery store yet in my state. I had to order it on Amazon. Thanks Amazon. I hope it's good.
These look great! I love my slow cooker. Don’t know if I shared it before, but wet a paper towel and spread it out on the counter next to your cutting board. The onion fumes gravitate toward moisture. Having the wet towel there will keep it from getting to your eyes. I have dry, sensitive eyes, and this almost always works for me! Unless it’s a super strong onion - sometimes it will still get me.
I was checking the comments to see if anyone else had already made this suggestion. All of my kids shared in the cooking as they grew up. My oldest son had a terrible time with onions. I walked in on him once while he was cutting onions and he had paper towels shoved up his nostrils 🤣. He and his wife share in the cooking and he still shoved paper towels up his nose until a couple of years ago. I told him what I’d learned about the paper towels and he tried it immediately. He was utterly amazed how well it works! It’s so nice to go visit and see the paper towels on the cutting board instead of up his nose 😉
@@craniumgrunt6001 it’s amazing how well it works! My eyes would burn and make tears until I would have to quit and walk away. I despised cutting onions. This was a game changer!
If you're a diabetic you need to watch your sugar intake some vegetables can raise your blood sugars, tomato is one of those. Some sausage contains sugar.
A lot of people don’t know that so that is awesome that you added that comment in here for people skimming through the video. I didn’t even think about vegetables or sausages raising blood sugar b
Another way to avoid crying while cutting the onion is by chewing gum while cutting them; my son just told me this trick, which is a lifesaver for me. It works. 😊
My son used to stuff paper towels up his nose while cutting onions 😂. I taught him this simple trick and he uses it all the time now. The place for paper towels is NOT up your nose but dampened and sat on the edge of your cutting surface. Onion juice for some reason is drawn to moisture so put the moisture near the onion and tada no more runny eyes or sniffles.
Just found your channel. I’d love to see a video on DASH diet recipes also diabetic friendly. Many people suffer from both. However, diabetic recipes are usually high in sodium and vice versa. Once diagnosed with diabetes 2 last year I refused meds in lieu of trying TLC therapeutic lifestyle change and lost 30 lbs. cooking from scratch. 2-3 hrs/meal nurse said I’m now considered a diabetic in remission. I have 30 more lbs to lose. Hubby has hbp on Metformin and lost 20 lbs. Very hard to find recipes that target both issues. Open and dump recipes are fast, easy, cheap, but usually high in sodium. Many low carb videos out there don’t address the high sodium content.
Hello Shelly, nice to meet you. This was my first time watching your video and I really enjoyed every minute of it. I will be watching more of your videos so that I can help my mom prepare more healthier meals. She has diabetes and I’m going to change some of my unhealthy eating habits so that I want become a diabetic and to help me lose about 15 lbs 😆😀. Love the accent because you sound like me. I’m from Florida and my favorite is “ boo boo” and I know I’m a lil country with a whole lot of sexiness 😂 love your jolly spirit Shelly. Thanks

Really? Found mine right at the WalMart - look at WalMart for the miracle noodles or the spaghetti squash! Aldi also has their own hearts of palm noodles.
A couple things I have tried. Put your onion in the freezer for about 10 minutes before cutting. Wooden toothpicks hold by your teeth middle of mouth and purse lip’s like your gonna give a peck kiss.
Can someone help an old bachelor out. How can I make this in an insta pot? I was told that anything you can make in a slow cooker you can make in a pressure cooker, but I wouldn't even know where to start.
Yes you can!!!!! For most chicken recipes (1 lb) you can pressure cook for 15-20 minutes BUT make sure to add at least 1/2 cup of liquid, broth, or sauce!!!! Stir in the cheese when it is done!
Always cut your onions from north pole to south pole, not through the equator. You will cry a lot less if you make slices that way from top to bottom, rather than rings through the middle. Try it and see for yourself.
A chef told me to think of an onion like an octopus. The roots are the tentacles of the onion. Keep those on the onion as long as you can because once you cut those off, they release the venom that will make you cry.
Get that knife blade wet. Onion has a chemical reaction with moisture, so you want it to happen on the knife, not your eyes. Cover any leftover with a damp paper towel.
I am SO SO excited about this! 3 amazing, low carb slow cooker recipes!!!! Which will you be making!!!???

I didn't think tomato did. Thank you for this. I didn't know.
even as a diabetic you need some carbs. quality carbs that are in vegetables, but yes veggies like carrots can be high in sugar
Can these be put in a bag , frozen or in fridges , and stored then put in the crockpot when ready to cook ?
All can except the cream cheese - write on the bag ‘add cream cheese.’ I plan to make more of these so I am jazzed you are asking!

Meat based - 4 ounces; casserole based 1- 1/2 cups

If you uses Raos pizza sauce instead of marinara, it is only 3 gr total carbs with 1 gr of fiber for 1/4 cup serving. Still expensive though.
