- The Entire Fortune Teller Baba Arc | Dragon Ball
Following the events of the Red Ribbon Army, Goku and his friends continue their journey towards Fortune-Teller Baba, an old witch and the older sister of Master Roshi, who happens to be able to find the location of the final Dragon Ball. However, our heroes discover that she won't give up this information for free, as she proposes a duel between her five individual warriors, against the five members of the Dragon Team. However, Puar and Upa aside, this leaves Krillin, Yamcha, and Goku to battle it out for the chance to reveal the final Dragon Balls location. Unbeknownst to the Dragon Team though, an unknown ally is amongst Baba's five warriors, though he makes himself known toward the battles end. Bringing back old friends and vowing to reunite at the next World Tournament, (Tenkaichi Budokai), Goku and the others set out to train once again for three years.

I really like this arc as well. My favorite part of it is Goku’s reunion with Gohan, and the realization from Baba and Devilman that Goku doesn’t have any evil in his heart. Thanks so much! Im glad you liked it!
I forgot how Short this Arc is i used to considered it still part of the Red Ribbon Army arc till a few years ago and as always i can't help but cry when Goku reunites with Grandpa Gohan great video as always
It can slot in as a sort of epilogue to the Red Ribbon Army arc since its following the overall plot of collecting the Dragon Balls to revive Upa's father.
It's just a transition arc for the next major arc

@@justinsden I always joke about how after Cell was killed and a wish was made to revive his victims; the innocent lives taken during Semi-Perfect Cell's hunt for 18 would die moments after being revived.
Why? Well, remember Cell blew up a chain of islands before reaching the last one with 18 & 16 but got interrupted when Vegeta showed up.
In the anime/manga we know that several of those islands had towns with A LOT of people! So unless Shenron moved those people to a piece of land when he brought them back; those people would drown since their islands are GONE!
@@keatonendler8202 Here's another group of people NEVER revived again; the victims on the island 19 & 20 appeared on! The wish was for Cell's victims to come back to life. However, that doesn't include the entire city that was leveled with Dr. Gero's eye lasers! Geez, these Z-Fighters keep dropping the ball...

My favorite part of this arc is Goku reuniting with his grandfather, Gohan.
Man. I still hate that we didnt get to see Grandpa Gohan and Goku in the Afterlife at the End of the Cell Saga.

1 thing I don't get is why people think this is its own saga. I find that both Red Ribbon and Fortune Teller Baba all belong in the same Search for the Dragon Balls arc (granted, that was also the first arc so I guess Search 2 Electric Boogaloo.). Goku starts searching for his grandfather's ball. Finds it but Upa's father is killed just as he gets it. We see Goku's kind-heartedness at play when he resolves to find the rest of the balls to revive him. In response, he climbs Korin's tower (good thing too because Tao Pai Pai probably would've killed him in a rematch) and, in doing so, is given a chance to see his grandfather once again in Baba's tournament.
This arc is emotional

Honestly goku reuniting with grandpa gohan reminded me with my grandma because at some point she got a terminal illness and one of her side effects were memory loss and she forgot everyone except me or more like my name she could still pronounce it with the little vocabulary that she had and and anytime she said it it made me cry knowing that she still remembered me but also knowing that she was on limited time and this video brought me a tears of joy remembering her thank you Justin sincerely thank you.

For the anime itself Funimation used Frieza's first dub DBZ actress Linda Young to voice Baba which kind of makes sense when Linda Young voiced Frieza in DBZ in 1998 she was already like 70+ years old and she is still alive in 2024.

How to get colored manga like yours?
1. Weird that baba says when yamacha was fighting they got 2 more fighters left on their team 😂 huh? So upa & poar count as one?
2. This arc is interesting don't get me wrong I like it but a bit all over the place is it part of red ribbon army arc? It continues straight after you know? After this tournament goku was fighting pilaf's gang again 😂 that's why I felt a little lost there you get me? I think my favourite moment is goku reuniting with grandpa gohan that was nice huh?
3. Goku is impressive huh? Is his saiyan traits beginning to show 😜?

2.) People say Fortune Teller Baba is a continuation of the Red Ribbon Arc, but tbh, it feels like its own arc to me, so I covered it in its own thing. I like the continuation of the Pilaf Gang showing up, especially since they ended up being involved with Demon King Piccolo, so it didn’t feel like they were there for no reason. It was mostly comic relief.
3.) Goku is EXTREMELY strong compared to everyone else in this arc for sure. Lol
