Supreme Court made a bad call this time. I hope that our legislators have the balls to amend the First Amendment to fix this problem that way there is no interpretation.
The Constitution was written in simple and clear language in order to avoid these sort of "misunderstandings". It can withstand everything except a corrupt and godless populace.
One of my favorite quotes about free speech, I’m not sure where it originated and I’m paraphrasing: “the first amendment doesn’t exist to protect people who say “puppies are cute” or “I like cupcakes”, or whatever other non-controversial statement. It exists to protect the most vile and reprehensible speech that would otherwise be eradicated and quashed by the masses”. But I’ll take that a step further. Democrats and the left openly celebrate the idea of eradicating speech they don’t agree with. Not vile, reprehensible speech. Just speech they don’t agree with. They do it under the guise of “anybody who doesn’t agree with us is vile and reprehensible”, so they can go to sleep at night guilt free.

SCOTUS ruled the plaintiffs didn't have standing. They didn't actually rule on the issue.
