Nothing against any other pilots but those who fly firefighting aircraft are awesome. Refilling like that on the water and then flying low into most times, zero visibility due to smoke, and here in Canada where everything's burning up right now, generally the train is far from flat.
Drop the water and do it all again, awesome!
That Starlux A350 was being blown about like a piece of paper
Bro what-💀💀
@@_00w_what’s wrong with the comment?
I’m glad I wasn’t on it.
Hats of to the pilots, that really didn’t look easy
@@EggsAviation People who use 'Bro' are prone to making nonsensical comments.

Huge respect to all the water bomber crews around the world who are doing an amazing job saving lives and property. RIP to those who paid with their own lives.
Rip to the fire bombers. Doing gods work.
Exactly. How is it possible that these landing areas are wet? They cant be wet, because i just arrived.
Let's take a moment to appreciate the awesomeness that is the Canadair CL215/415 and the brave and skilled AF pilots who fly them.
That was probably one of the most beautiful things one could witness with aviation...
That looks so dangerous, they are true heroes.
There’s a whole fleet of these very planes in my part of urban Alaska… trying to save small communities. ♥️ 🙏
I think to remember, that thse were italian pilots operating in Vienna/Austria, flying to lower Austria fighting a huge bushfire there.
The river itself is a non floating leg of the danube, built to fight high water levels. Its called "Neue Donau", and can transport about 10000 m³/s.
When it is sealed from the floating danume, its for bathing in summer.
Greez from Vienna! roland
@@talia6442and they are about to build more after many years of not
Those Starlux A350 pilots did an awesome job, I've never seen such impact from the wind on a heavy aircraft!
Close to a RAAS long landing. Always fun seeing airbus pilot trying to land,
Should have gone around again in my opinion
They did a crap job. Way outside the touchdown zone. A go-around was warranted.
That was an example of inexperience, incompetence or possibly fatigue not an "awesome job!" It was clearly the result of unstable approach and pilot induced pitch oscillations starting with too high a flare and attempting to force it to the ground as their eating up the runway. To be clear, I'm not discounting the difficulty of landing in these conditions, however, with that pilot induced situation they were losing control as the airplane finally fell to the runway.
@@ronhunt2477 💯% agreed 👍
The tanker refill of the Candair was in October 2021 because of a real forrest fire in Hirschwang an der Rax in southern Lower Austria. Filling up the tanks in the Danube River in Vienna was the only possibility for the two deployed Candairs.
k.
Thanks, I was just wondering what a water bomber would have to do in Austria in autumn or winter. I thought it was a demonstration of the aircraft or something.
This video has more 'floaters' than a cup of tea in outback Australia.
Well done, though. ;-)
This is one of your BEST videos ever!!!
Another enjoyable 3 minutes - thank you! 👍
Best landing this week, central reservation of the A40 dual carriageway during rush hour.
Imagine the sinking feeling you get sitting at the back of the first plane when it rotated for the go around
Nothing but admiration for anyone choosing to be a pilot. No such thing as a routine flight. Special thanks to those in the fire tankers.
Another outstanding compilation. Thank you!
Thanks for all you work.
Amazing compilation as usual! Thank you!
The Starlux landing very very difficult! Very professional!
Those Tokyo airports sure make the pilots work at times. Sporty winds for sure...
Who else thinks that the Airbus A350 is so beautiful. I love the sleek cockpit window design.
That tanker filling up was way cool!
Because of all the people watching it must have been some sort of demonstration rather than actual firefighting.
No, this was actually an real forrest fire in October 2021 in Hirschwang an der Rax in southern Lower Austria and the only possibility for the two Candairs to fill up their water tanks was at the Danube River in Vienna. That's why there are so many people watching because this is in the middle of a big city.
@@fxw Exactly. I've seen footage in the past of tankers filling up in lakes before.
Those Canadair CL series aircraft are beautiful!
My first go around ever was going into Narita. Some wicked winds there during typhoon season.
I got a chuckle at the person on the shore waving both arms at the CL215 picking up a load of water. I suspect the pilot wasn't looking around at the spectators just then. Probably a little bit busy. LOL
I had genuine anxiety about the A350 as FLOATED down the runway. You’re just think “land land!”, but it keeps on eating up runway. Hey, they made it work so more power to them.
Dang Oshkosh wasn't kind to Bonanza's this year 😂
Or to that idiot with the camera who, like all videographers for news channels, seem to be in love with their zoom lens like it's the second coming of Jesus.
Always enjoy your videos.
Super nice Video! 😀🤩Thumbs Up! 👍
All RIGHT!!! Either the "caption guy" is finally paying attention or the caption guy is finally getting paid! But, at least we aren't wondering if he's watching the same thing that we are. Nice work 👍
I bet there were people praying in the Lufthansa flight. Fantastic mastering landing ❤❤❤
Fire fighting aircraft are getting a real workout this year.
My brother used to jockey planes around the US for a leasing firm in the 80's. He told me the one plane that he wouldn't fly was the Beechcraft Bonanza Model 35. He told me years later that his best friend Danny, a former Marine aviator, was almost killed flying a 35. He survived, but was paralyzed from the waist down. He told my brother that the plane became difficult to handle upon approach and believed that the crash was due to a heavy gust of wind hitting the 'V' tail and forcing the plane into the ground nose first.
0:31 Imagine being a passenger and praying the pilot is not actually trying to land the plane.
Did you see the crosswind on the sock working on that A350 landing? Must have been very near the limit.
That last clip! What a landing!
I’m taking starlux in a few months. This insuring as the pilots here did an awesome job!
Quite the opposite. They would have to go around. Way to far down down the runway and outside of the touchdown zone but literally a mile, unstable too. This is one reason why alternates exist.
Man, I'll fly with that Starlux pilot on any airline he's flying! Fantastic flying.
The situation was bad but Lufthansa pilots can control❤
Thank you again for this and I mean it.
I've never seen anyone at O'Hare do as many touch and goes as Lufthansa - I've literally seen them have the entire main gear on the ground for a few hundred feet and then apply power and take off again.
I'm sure those flight crews, with thousands of hours of training and experience, deeply regret not satisfying you, while keeping themselves and the passengers alive and well.
@@alkh3myst I literally only made a statement of what I have seen, not asking or wishing for anything, why have to be such a jagoff? Lmao
@@ChicagoAirportSpotter "blah-blah-blah" You're second-guessing highly trained professionals. Unless you also have (now, I'll wait for the lying to start) a multi-engine pilot's license, you have NO QUALIFICATIONS WHATSOEVER to criticize their decisions. If you were able to come awake during major surgery, would you start critiquing your doctor?
@@alkh3myst I want you to point out where in my original comment I was second-guessing anything. Like I said, jagoff.
@@ChicagoAirportSpotter Like I said, judgemental and ignorant.
Watching A350 in Lufthansa livery reduces my blood pressure and heart rate to more healthy values. Just what the doctor ordered. Relax yourself and think positive. In aviation, safe is relaxing.
I love this series.
There was still so much space underneath the LH A350. No danger of a tail strike there.
Your obviously no pilot. ..
True??😁
impressive as always, thanks ! 🙂
The CL-415 : 6 tonnes of water in about 12 secs
Gotta love bumpy landings!
Was that Bonanza the one that landed opposite the flow of traffic at Oshkosh this year? I feel like that one was red and white but wasn't sure if I remembered correctly.
Great video! i enjoyed this very much
Another enjoyable 3 minutes! Amazing ❤❤❤
Can someone explain to me why the Lufthansa pilot on the first clip did a go around instead of just finishing the landing? What exactly was wrong with the landing attempt?
It looks to me as though the decision to go around had already been made. I say this because if he pushed the levers to the stops (the Go Around detent) then the spoilers would be inhibited from extending at main wheel contact. Simultaneous with selecting TOGA would be the engines going to GA thrust and the FD would command GA pitch and roll modes. When he hit the runway the wing stayed clean with no spoiler extension. He may have developed an excessive sink rate late in the approach and decided to go around then. Just my opin.
@@lbowskyou can see the engines produce more thrust just before touchdown, meaning they set TOGA a little earlier. It didn't look destabilized to me, and they weren't overshooting the touchdown zone (they were spot on).
They must have been under pressure , though, given the steep and sudden climb. They were quick to stop the oscillation though
Because the approach was unstable. Right call.
What happened to first the a350??
And of course - Narita is here again. Tricky airport!
ya, that didn't look like a tail strike to me, just a lot of smoke
Yeah, there was nothing wrong with that first clip. The tail and ground were separated by a mile.
@@charlie7mason what I mean is.. Why did the plane drop so hard and then took off again..? Wind shear?
@@steveshuffle I don't think that was windshear, as the go-around thrust would have had to be already applied for them to take off at that point. Maybe they were just playing it safe for what they thought might have turned into an unstable approach.
I am sure that Starlux 350 touched down within the touchdown markers
Excellent review!
Nice❤
That second Starlux landing was pure crap.
Love them bonanzas.
I love planes
Water bombing man... Dream pilot gig. Just need 18 thousand hours of float time.
bro needs more subs
Seeing that starlux aircraft dangling just about the asphalt gave me couple seconds of anxiety
What can we say about this video:
Starlux has a major problem with go arounds
A350's are not suitable for crosswinds
Never fly a Bonanza when there is strong winds
Cl-415's are amazing
That Lufthansa was like me when flying the level D sim and not knowing it was 215t instead of the usual 200t
Was it my imagination or was the Beechcraft Bonanza and it looked like a Pilatus landing on intersecting runways at the same time?
QUICK DECISION IS MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR AT SACH TIME.
Narita Airport always has problem of strong cross wind landing...
Startup A321 was at my hometown of Penang
2:02 what is going on with the TBM? Were they both landing on intersecting runways?
The correct term is a baulked landing or rejected landing.
That was windy, dust blowing...☹️
0:40 Windshear detected! Abort landing and go around.
Isn't Go Around, this is REJECTED LANDING, both are similar but the aircraft configuration is different
Any idea what was the reason for that Lufthansa go-around? Was it a touch and go test? Go-arounds are so scary, man. I experienced it once in my life, and the fog was so bad you couldn't see anything outside the window. Pure horror.
He already rotated before the touchdown. Looks as if the sinkrate was too high, because the plane didn´t react to the flare input at ca 30 ft. It is a Airbus problem.
@@hqquax5786 no, it's a windshear problem. Nothing to do with Airbus
Those Starlux just wanted to stay airborne!
Add Starlux to my list of I Ain't Going airlines.
Based on what?
The 22 making a turn so tight it takes the radio out of tune.
that starlux was definitely at the end of the runway.
must be awesome to experience a floater down a runway and then zoom off again?
the starlux a350 was like a kite
flying fire fighters. bless 'em all.
Hats off to Starlux A350🎉❤ That was tough
A350 has potential resonace problem on longitudinal axis
The Starlux flight that I took also landed so rough that I involuntarily let out a Taiwanese swear word.
narita airport, famous of planes suffer windshear very usaul.
The Cl 415 is the best fire fighter in the skies.
It seems the LH started the go around even before touch down
Because unlike the starlight there are able to recognise an unstable approach.
@@McAero08 yep
Ground effect is real 😂
When you consider the number of lives under the care of the cockpit crew, the money they make does not seem like enough.
I couldn't see the tail strike at all!!!
Doctor killer almost living up to its name...
Man oh man the passengers on the Starlux A350 definitely had a case of wicked ED
coool
Both the Starlux A350 and A321 pilots need to be sent over to Ryanair for training on how to land. Those Ryanair pilots don't mess around...they know how to get the plane on the ground.
Great pilots
No Aerosucre this week? Hmmmm, they must be on vacation... 😁😁😜😜
Well, they built a heck of an aircraft.. it doesn't wanna land lol
I don't see no tailstrike
1:21 that was so very nearly a divert
Who are Starlux, seems they need to train their pilots on how to land planes a bit better. Not booking a flight with them anytime soon
If that was a 737 and not an Airbus, it would have been a tail strike for sure.
Go around episode
Absolutely nuts and irresponsible from that Starlux A 350 pilot to try a second landing when the aircraft got shook like before. That wind was way to strong. The airport authorities from Narita should have closed the airfield during that tayfun. Far to dangerous.
I hate the intro and outro to these videos, but the content is great.
