Hey! Just popping in to see your juice recipe. Yum.
Lil (hopefully) helpful hint-to get residual honey/syrup out of a container, add warm liquid, cover it, let it sit a few minutes and the warm liquid will liquify the honey/syrup and you’ll get the benefit!

Here's why your rhubarb plant is becoming weaker. Never cut the stalks. Pull the whole stalk from the crown, which stimulates new growth. Stop harvesting about one month from the time you begin. Never take more than a third of the stalks at a time. Happy rhubarbing!

Thanks for the intel! Do you also divide your rhubarb every few years? Good to know about cutting the stalks 🤓🤓

Why not just use a juicer. Seems like boiling the snout out of it would kill all the vitamin C.

Thx for the recipe. I was not so enthusiastic of the sour taste but then something happend. I left it on the counter and in a few days it started to ferment. It is bubbly and so nice. Seems that it is called Kvass and it is delicious . You should really try it if you have the time. Thanks again :D

This gal is awesome. Like the hat in the beginning. Thanks for the rhubarb juice recipe. Got over a hundred big fat rhubarb stalks that I don't know what to do with year after year. This year I don't want it all to go to waste, but my wife hates the stuff and I have no kids to eat it either. Maybe I can put it in the dog food to purge their parasites? Hmmmmmmmmmmm

I really wish that I had a big bunch of Rhubarb. I am 78 years old and live on the 2nd floor of a SENIOR CITIZEN Apartment Complex.
I really enjoyed watching your video. I. Just came across your site as you were talking about Rhubarb and I stayed there.

Hi Rose! Thanks for connecting here. Do you have a balcony? I think you can grow rhubarb in a pot orrrrr maybe advocate for a community garden at your complex! That’s probably a lot of work but a nice thought nonetheless :)

I grew Rhubarb successfully in a pot for a few years while I was in a condo. It just stays a bit smaller but maybe I could have upsized my pots. I was very happy with my potted rhubarb

Can you use the boiled rhubarb after that as well? Maybe it can be thrown in a blender combine it with yogurt and oats, let it chill overnight and eat it then? Would that taste nice too maybe? I always try to use everything that's edible and try to throw out the least amount possible.
Maybe it can also be used to make healthy cookie bars. Idk.

Just a suggestion please I see honey used in hot juice but you can use it in warm water. When you mix honey in hot water or liquid you loose enzymes that are beneficial n could be harmful. In Ayurvedic medicine honey is always in warm liquids.

You need to dig them out and replant(separate them) so every plant have enough room to grow. My mom have only one, but is huge because have plenty room to grow.Hope this help.

Why do you boil it instead of juicing it in a blender or juicer? I feel like you kill off all nutrients by cooking it? Thank you!

Don’t do it! It took me close to an hour to clean the machine. I’m curious about a juicer since you don’t have to heat it up it might not destroy as much vitamin C.

That is ok for immediate fresh juice. If you have lots of Rhubarb stalks in your garden..you want to make juice this way so it will last.

Rhubarb is a heavy feeder. Give it coffee grounds. You can also just move the crowns to a new location. No need to buy new plants.

Never, ever cut your Rhubarb! Pull and twist the stalks out. Also, dump a pile of horse manure on top of plants in early spring then again in the fall. You will see your Rhubarb grow and multiply enormously!

That's breast cancer waiting to happen juicing rhubarb. Maybe the boiling reduces the oxalate a bit depending how long.

    • @teresastanton1140
      @teresastanton1140 Год назад

To get rid of the oxalates you need to soak in lemon and water or add fresh lemon juice or lemon slices when simmering.
