@@amandatolleson7740 Yes, I'm not sure which hospital, but he's an ER plastic surgeon. He looks quite different as well. He had optic surgery where his brown eyes are now a crystal blue. He also bulked up. Looking hot and he takes care of people.
i dont usually like bands getting new members after commercial success specially the vocalists. but this is actually pretty great, that dude has some pipes, considering this is acoustic
i do not understand the need that people have to put things/someone down these days. if you don't like it, then don't watch it. its just that simple - besides, im definitely a fan of his. he has an amazing voice, and full of passion when he sings .. what's not to love?!
@DecadoTheIceKiller Tommy Stewart. The "big guy" i.e. Kevin Miller left quite awhile back, as did Brett Scallions (original singer). In this video's lineup Carl Bell (guitar/writer) and Jeff Abercrombie (bass) are the only 2 originals left. Now that's over and Brett Scallions has a completely new lineup on tour as FUEL after working it out with Mr. Bell. People say "fuel's not fuel without Brett". Well, Carl wrote about 90% or more of their songs, so it's DEFINITELY not fuel without him.
I agree...while Brett was quite impressive, Toryn Green has a fucking incredible voice and people need to stop hating. He's in a band called Emphatic now and people need to go check them out!
Toryn is one of my fav vocalists. I like him better then brett all though i do like both. Toryns voice is meant for his new band "for the taking" where he can build up the music how he wants but for comming in and filling in like this he did a EXCELLENT job i must say
@metallicaz08 yes that is realized, BUT i like toryn, i think he is very talented, brett is amazing, and nobody could REALLY fill his shoes but toryn was a great sound.
Some songs are just meant to be sung just by the original artist, it’s his song forever with that vocal that I’ll always here from the original. He left his personal stamp in music history with that one. This song can’t be sung by anyone else in my opinion. ✌️
I think toryn did a great job. With that said, does anyone hear some of the south park characters in his voice?? It sounds like trey and Matt when they make a song on south park.
Dude I think you said the most correct statement on this thread. U obviously are keener to music then most people. I agree with every word u said. Now I gotta go fart on the button that opens the glove box in some random persons car that I find in Macys parking lot. After that I'm gonna look everywhere I can to find regular refrigerator so I can press my finger against the side of it for like 2 seconds. That one would be so funny if someone saw me do it. I should record it. Just me going up to a fridge and pressing my finger against it for 1 or 2 seconds!! Hahaha so freakin funny. RUclips material there. ok gotta go.
I disagree. As a fan since 97 I think both vocalists dis the song justice and I enjoy both versions. Both singers put the passion into it. I love them both and have most likely been a fan longer now what?
it's not going to be the same with a new singer. aka William Duvall with Alice in chains. Everyone should know this, this was a good rendition. Don't set expectations too high, Alice in chains still kicks ass without Layne.
Nah, AIC was defined by Layne! That's quite a false equivalence with Fuel. With that said, all of this is pretty much subjective, but barely anyone would mention AIC without Layne, simply cause he made the band memorable.
Yes he is. Emphatic has been completely rebuilt other than Just Mccain Their new album comes out Oct. 22nd.. Their single "remember me" is out to listen to on youtube
This is by no means Toryn's best performance of the song. There is an immaculate (and I rarely say that) live acoustic version on the Angels & Devils album.
Everyone's saying how much Toryn sucks but what you don't realize is that the beauty of music is the fact that no one is better than anyone. Just because Brett left, that doesn't mean the songs and the purpose have to go with him. Toryn and Brett are both good singers, and Toryn has a lot of potential so why not give him a chance? If you think you can do better than him, go for it. If not, then what right do you have to condemn him?
I find the main difference between this and Brett's is that this guy (i think he has a good tone) is slightly more nasal and his cracking voice (the gravelly sounding bit) is less natural, it only seems to kick in at a certain pitch and with a certain tone. Either way they are both pretty good. Brett's voice was probably more punished and got tired quicker because of his style.
I think people should stop trying to compare Toryn to Brett. Toryn didn't just happen to become lead singer of Fuel by some fluke event. He was hand picked by The band out of the multiple people that audition. Out of everyone who auditioned Toryn was chosen. That should count for something. It does in my book.
I've seen lots of comments on youtube like: This kid is pretty good, This kid is not as good as Brett, This kid, kid and kid. For those who don't know, This kid is only four years younger than Brett. Of course Brett was a vocal legend and i like him a lot, But Toryn was trying his best too and also liked him. Fuel
I most agree with those who thinks he is ruining the song. It's a wonderful song though. If you listen carefully to his voice, he is straining his voice when he sings - which is a complete no go.
Btw Toryn is actually a fantastic singer/performer. It's only when you compare him directly to Brett that you get the problems. Listen to him in his new band and decide for yourself. search forthetakingofficial on myspace
I'm a HUGE Toryn Green fan. Toryn's got a hell of a voice, and I think he fit Fuel better. Not that it matters now, since he's long since left, Brett Scallions is back, and Toryn Green is now the frontman for Emphatic.
After all these years Brett's voice is embedded into my mind when remembering this song. As much talent as this other guy has, it's just an inferior imitation of a song that can't be duplicated without Brett.
Many have tried to be like the original, and, to their disappointment, have failed. Not to say, he's a bad singer, but Brett's voice perfectly matches the song.
This guy isnt terrible, but its just not the same. Daughtry sang this song on American Idol and nailed it, hence the offer he got from Fuel to be their lead....
Because it's a little different? You try singing it. Brett uses a voice synth when he sings it live, and Toryn doesn't. Not saying one it better than the other, but they have simillar vocal styles
totally agree with you audio. theres alot more to just a nice sounded voice and sound overall. Something that the band has lost with Brett absent. That x factor that gave the songs more depth than just the sound. Brett brought the words to life, the story. Still.. things change, and theres alot more talent out there that will be greater than Fuel.
Toryn sings good no doubt about that. But at the end of the day and all votes are in, BRETT takes it all the way home!!! This IS Brett's song. No one can sing it better. NO ONE!!!
Not gonna lie just starting on the fuel rabbit hole because I’ve always thought this was the most butt rock song right there with Hinder. In a funny way. I always laugh at the vocals when the song comes on. They sound like Ted imitating Eddie Vedder. They are a meme but I feel like this guy made it alittle easier to take serious.
I love this guy! Hes fucking killer. No its not the same but he has a killer voice! Lets see half you guys get up there and be that successful?! Haterz gone hate
they lack the chemistry without brett and kevin. still sound tight as and professional, toryn has an amazin voice aswell but i cant explain it, that special ingredient is gone now, that ''we're gonna make your face melt off live'' is gone...i saw them on something like human and natural selection tours and i must say carl's writing was brought to life by brett's voice although angel+devils suited toryns style!! i'm not a hater im just expressin that there is more to being a frontman then a voice
I never thought Toryn was bad personally... there are worse. Of course, he's no Brett Scallions... but I kinda miss Toryn now that he's out of Fuel and the only Fuel left is Brett Scallions' new band ReFueled - (who fucking kick ass!) So everyone who thinks Brett Scallions and Fuel are over... Check out ReFueled
I think "imitating" as you put it is harsh. He's using it as a reference for sure, but he only strain's briefly when he does and there is a lot of improv toward the end that is quite melodic. My opinion of this LIVE performance is that he nailed the notes and was timid at times but ambitious at others with his tambre yet on point enough to pull the whole thing off (live). Decent is not enough; this was an excellent performance.
i dont know i do this song and this guy is pertty god he adds his own twist wish is cool but i do have to say one thing add twist to a song is all right sometimes but this song is not one of those you change some song are perfect they way the and this song is just that dont need any change
Toryn has more range but Brett's voice is 100x more badass. Toryn's sounds whiny. Not only that, but I'm pretty sure that Toryn is the hardest kid on earth to get along with. Look at his past band appearences; he's been in Patience Worth, Something to Burn, Fuel, For The Taking, Emphatic, and a self-entitled band called "Toryn". Who else do you know that has jumped from band to band so much? He must be a real character, or just a brat to his bandmates.
are you fucking kidding me? Brett is fucking amazing. Live, or in studio. And he has the balls to sing without any thing helping him, even if it is ruining his vocal cords. Lets see some balls from you and get up on stage and do what Brett does.
i dont think the new guy sucks altogether but come on, he is lacking when it comes to this song atleast. Brett has this raspy soulful ergency that this song need to make it feel complete
Say what you want about Toryn Green, but he did a good job on this rendition.
Bands change singers. It happens. Thus kids definitely talented. I respect his skill but I prefer Brett on the older songs.
I've always loved Toryn's voice. He's a doctor now as well as a singer. Go Toryn!
Wait…he’s a doctor?
@@amandatolleson7740 Yes, I'm not sure which hospital, but he's an ER plastic surgeon. He looks quite different as well. He had optic surgery where his brown eyes are now a crystal blue. He also bulked up. Looking hot and he takes care of people.
Great rendition by Toryn, but Brett's version will always be the one....
Toryn is amazingly talented. I love the rhaspiness in his voice, and he is sooo gorgeous, he is a beautiful man....
i dont usually like bands getting new members after commercial success specially the vocalists. but this is actually pretty great, that dude has some pipes, considering this is acoustic

He doesn't have the same emotion that Brett has when he sings

Brett never could sing live, most all of his shows were lip sync garbage man. Toryn’s voice was FAR better
I think toryn did a great job. With that said, does anyone hear some of the south park characters in his voice?? It sounds like trey and Matt when they make a song on south park.

i don't know why people are raggin on this version..the singing is incredible here.. a dominant performance

Pleasant surprise to see tommy back there rockin the drums
He's Fuel's new vocalist. he was on their latest album, after Brett left due to problems with his voice.
I bet if Toryn was the original singer, people would react the same about Brett. Give the dude a break.
I bet if Jordan came after Lebron we would be saying the same thing about Jordan.
This is by no means Toryn's best performance of the song. There is an immaculate (and I rarely say that) live acoustic version on the Angels & Devils album.

that is the only song where brett is really missing his voice make this song perfect as it is...
This is soo efffin hott! Watching him!!😊

I Cant Believe Im Named After A Singer :) /Toryn
es lo mejor desde COLOMBIA se escucha buen rock
AMAZING!
As far as I am concerned, this will always be just a cover of hemorrhage
Yeah, it's Toryn Green...and he did join Emphatic which means that band is now going to rock even more than they did before!
very very very good.
Is it just me or is he a little ahead of the guitar/base in the beginning of the vocal??? Awesome song though!
Sorry for my bad typing by the way! :/

Great Tune!
SWEET
2.25 to 2.40 he just turned the song into a kelly clarkson song
brett is the real deal
i ended up here cause i was looking for tommy stewart....what happen after godsmack ???
For the taking
@MrFcameron brett was not replaced, he quit because he couldn't sing anymore at this point.
what the hell happend to the original singer??
yooooooooooooo killllllllllllld it
omg he is the most beautiful man ever..

@subversed enrique iglesias?! that's Toryn Green

why does he look here Matt LeBlanc in his years of friends???
😍🔥
Because it's a little different? You try singing it. Brett uses a voice synth when he sings it live, and Toryn doesn't. Not saying one it better than the other, but they have simillar vocal styles
better if he sings slower... guitars and drums tryin to catch him up >

he meant Toryn Green and Bill Hudson
So I guess Carl Bell went through a few--or MORE--Brett Scallions replacements over the years, eh wot?
this guys really good, but the version with brett will always be my favorite...
Nice cover. Keep persisting...
Wasn't a cover
I think this is pretty decent... a bit too fast tho. no hate :)
enrique iglesias does this song really well in this video.

Wow.
Oversing much?
@ericatomic934 Typo! Without Brett!!
Don't get it twisted, but its fuel.....people are pissed like its a legendary band
i prefer the original singer, he give more pasion singing it.
