I just have a confusion, it will be very helpful if someone can help me out on this. Like in the video he said that 90% of the people will be studying NCERT which he tells us not to do for prelims. Right? But later on when he was discussing the history questions he told that he read NCERT and asked us to read the NCERT and focus more on some of the topics like vijaynagar and all. So is he suggesting that for history only we should read the NCERT and not for geography /polity. Because he didn't even said anything on NCERT when he was discussing polity/geography questions. Can someone clear this?
@@shubhamsinha162 bhai, he refused to suggest all the ncert, but what I inference from his statement is that we should study Old ncert class 11 for Ancient, and 11+12 for geography, and clss 11+12 old ncert history wherever required.

The first three suggestions of no newspaper, no 6-10 ncert and very limited mocks for pre is spot on. No topper/coaching is saying this but these are golden rules. I qualified in the reserved list this year and pre was/is the most challenging stage for me and I wish I had someone tell me this when I started prep because I wasted so much time and realised exactly what you said. Video was very insightful and helpful. But, we cannot ignore the Newspaper. Although, we should not waste lot of time behind newspaper but we should read it alongwith our Notes which will help in keeping abreast with daily updates. Monthly Compilation will never substitute the daily reading of Newspaper.
UPSC Pre is so difficult for some and so easy for some, a Bhaiya, in my neighborhood has cracked pre for 4 consecutive years, but could not qualify mains. He has appeared again in this mains, let's see what comes out this time. He is very hardworking, Hanuman ji karwa dein is baar

I found it very difficult to read newspapers and remember it so I have stopped reading it, as all toppers were stressing on reading newspaper so I was wondering whether I would be able to clear prelims or not. Let me tell you, I have consulted it 7 to 8 times this is my 8th ot 9th time I am watching it for consulting some subject specific issue. You told everything here your sources, your flipping technique, how to attempt paper, which ques. To leave, about elemination technique and everything. Not a single thing is left. I also cleared pre once ..... But my opinion is that we should read NCERT because many questions asked directly from NCERT books whether it's polity history economy or geography.... Yuss it's takes time but u should read....and go through PYQs and newspapers and makes self notes from newspaper....do not depend on coaching current compilation rather read urself from newspaper.... It's my opinion how I clear my pre...but bad luck in mains i leave last paper due to some reason

All points valid except newspaper one. Without going through newspaper, ca booklets become such a burden and each month's booklet is more than 100 pages irrespective of institute. Not saying spend whole day on newspaper but front page, world page and policy news are a must read from newspaper. Only with editorials one has to be selective in targeting them by relevance because it is the op-ed page which eats up max time. Rest of the newspaper doesn't even take 15-20 min.

I have purchased mixed notes of vision, vajiram etc and content seems to be very bulky even if I'm using standard books....most of the time when i go back to an already finished subject i find that i can't recall most of the stuff and then i feel i have wasted a lot of time on that subject despite the fact that i was seriously focusing understanding and learning the subject.. it is really demoralising.. ps: PMF ke bas Indian geography wale available hain online toh.. khair thank you so much for the guidance 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Few things though so that newbie aspirants don't get swayed away by the caption 1)upsc cse prelims level of questions have changed post 2017 . The toughness has increased 3x Look at the cutoffs which actually keep on falling each year .in 2016 it was 110 + if I remember and now it's about in the 90s range 2)there's a difference between giving the exam in hall and from comfort of home . People get the easiest of questions wrong cos of the stress on exam day

I gave 2021 CSE exam without proper preparation studying only 4 subject and that also within 15 days I got 47marks. And now I will follow this tips.
All points valid except newspaper one. Without going through newspaper, ca booklets become such a burden and each month's booklet is more than 100 pages irrespective of institute. Not saying spend whole day on newspaper but front page, world page and policy news are a must read from newspaper. Only with editorials one has to be selective in targeting them by relevance because it is the op-ed page which eats up max time. Rest of the newspaper doesn't even take 15-20 min.

I have purchased mixed notes of vision, vajiram etc and content seems to be very bulky even if I'm using standard books....most of the time when i go back to an already finished subject i find that i can't recall most of the stuff and then i feel i have wasted a lot of time on that subject despite the fact that i was seriously focusing understanding and learning the subject.. it is really demoralising..

PMF IAS is too bulky for Geography as GS. It is loaded with too much of content which are useful for Geography optional but not for GS

Few things though so that newbie aspirants don't get swayed away by the caption
1)upsc cse prelims level of questions have changed post 2017 . The toughness has increased 3x
Look at the cutoffs which actually keep on falling each year .in 2016 it was 110 + if I remember and now it's about in the 90s range
2)there's a difference between giving the exam in hall and from comfort of home . People get the easiest of questions wrong cos of the stress on exam day
