I've loved basically everything you've done since I found you.
When you get heckled so much that it's your whole gimmick, so much so that it's the only reason you even have a career, maybe you should consider that you suck at comedy.
@@mekmekoo1269 Uh... first of all he's amazing at smacking down these selfish, self entitled jerks. Second, he had a very successful career before he started RUclips. Third, he has several of his specials published for free on RUclips and they're excellent.
Last, there's one of two things going on here. Either he offends you so much that you have to go out of your way to insult him instead of just ignoring him like an adult, or you have such low self esteem or are so jealous that you feel the need to shit on a stranger to make yourself feel better.
Either way, it sounds like you have some personal problems, and you should seek a qualified therapist. Or maybe just make better decisions about how you spend your time.

As an amateur improvisational comedian(before COVID shut down our venues), my response to that “hearing specialist” would be, “You’re a hearing specialist? I don’t think so. No one else can hear the show because you are a talking specialist.” Then we would have done a scene about an inept hearing specialist. Actually the host of our shows is much faster with the barbed quips than I am. That’s why we asked him to be the host. His would have been way better than mine. It would be great to have Steve at our yearly comedy fest, when we have them again, and if we can afford him!

Sounded more like you just didn't want to do it for whatever personal reason you have which ok...fine. But if your going to be picky about cameo requests then maybe you shouldn't be on there at all. I was “accidentally” one of those people....
How? Well I’m watching open mic night. It’s December and one of the comedians is doing his bit when he suddenly stops, is silent and then starts going into “Rudolf the Red Noes Reindeer”. We were all baffled, but he was 100% committed so we joined in. It was great... then he did Jingle Bells... and it wasn’t funny. No one was laughing.
I lean over to my then girlfriend and say “it was funny then he killed it.” Like an aside. Not even going to heckle this guy. And it was like the whole bar went silent, including him, and someone put the microphone under my mouth. EVERYONE heard me. He yelled and then ran off stage and I felt like an asshole for a year... when I had a class with him.
He came up to me and said “you look familiar! You YOU! I know who you are! You’re the “It was funny then he killed it” guy!”
I instantly started to apologize, that I had felt like an ass and it was suppose to be a private word to my girlfriend. We were way the hell in the back! No one was suppose to hear us!
He goes “no dude! I wanted to say thank you. Seriously. I need an out. BAD! I’m being serious, stop apologizing! That was great! Thanks.”
Damn, he was a good sport afterwards.

But luckily for him he’s so bad at it that he gets lots of hecklers that he pretends he handles well, even though he really doesn’t
He definitely trolls for it. His brand is improv comedy gets a little repetitive, reusing the same comebacks or similar ones.

You really hold it together when getting heckled, all things considered. I imagine myself as a comedian getting heckled one too many times, I would probably come off as the bad guy in the end. You handle it so gracefully, even if sometimes you just have to tell someone to "shut the fuck up". You're a man among men Steve, shine on!

@@lucascyr98 Some dip-shit heckler made a fool of himself, as they do, but he hit Steve a special way and he vowed to never let us see the clips so this guy would not get his minute. We were to remind this dude that he f’d by asking Steve for “THE” Portland clips in comments and such. It was top notch comedy that night. I miss live shows.

It's really awesome that you're still posting content even though I'm sure your gigs have been hit just as hard as mine have (I'm a stagehand). I'm also really happy that RUclips's algorithm is still recommending your videos to me even though you havent posted much content for obvious reasons... and surprisingly enough, the only clip I've seen is the one with the guy saying, "NEXT!"

Thankful it doesn't happen that frequently (as you can tell from the differing ages in these), Steve's just garnered a reputation for shutting down those instances that he plays to well. I cant understand some people like the girl at the end, what a disgusting human being.

He has a couple sets on RUclips but generally comedians don’t release full sets on RUclips because they want you to pay to hear their material. That’s why you see so much crowd work and heckler destruction. Plus him destroying a heckler is good advertisement for people who may not already know about him

It's not funny. You're not helping. Even if it ends up being funnier in the long run it's still extremely rude because you're derailing their routine. He has to stop everything and it now has to be about you. Imagine if at your job every once in a while someone distracts your client just before he comes and now you have to start over.

Hello,. I've been watching your work for about 3 months. Forgive me if this comes as a stupid question. But is this a form, or your form of comedy? Or do you have shows where there is no hecklers?
