- After much searching and watching RUclips videos, finally replaced our Kuat Transfer 3 with a 1UP-USA 2" Heavy Duty Double Bike Rack. It's the best rack we've found for fitting any two bikes on it, whether road bikes, mountain bikes or a road and mountain bike. Plus, it's the rack all my friends have chosen. Seems to be the rack of choice in our area. Very happy with it.
Wish I was sponsored but bought this with our own money so totally unbiased review. - Спорт
Thank you for the video the bike placement is what I have been looking for, you just sold a rack for them
I am torn between this and the more expensive one. I think i will get this version. Thank you for the video.
Thanks for the very helpful video. I notice you have the Kuat swing adapter, which I'm also considering. But if you mounted the 1up directly in your hitch, would you be able to open your back doors when it was in the down position?
Thanks for the review. I found out about the 1UP from a fellow e-biker I met. She showed me the rack and when I tried, I found the same issue... the lever you have to push up to swing the rack towards the car rear or away from the car rear was fussy. I had to mess with it a few times until I got it. I am in the market for a bike rack and while I am very impressed with the majority of features on the 1UP super duty, this issue is enough for me to keep looking at the moment.
I just installed mine yesterday. 1Up offers an accessory handle which should make that lever rigmarole less cumbersome. I'll wait and see myself if I need it. Like Brad, I had to wrestle with the blue levers to initially unfold the rack but I found that pressing on the trays a little bit seem to do the trick. In that regard, the directions could have been more explicit.
Great video on how to use the 1up rack. Thx
Do you have to use the hitch pin on this one? My subaru wrx has a hidden hitch and its a huge pain to pull the bumper back to fit a hand back there.
I would highly recommend the ez pull up It's a must have trust me
So there is no locking available for the bikes mounted unless you supply it? While it has the security Allen wrench, it doesn't come with anything to secure the latches to take the bike off?
Thanks for the review! A bit of a hassle, what's up with the fittings? How about access to the SUV rear door.
Nice video. Can also put your dropper posts down when you Mount the bikes
My Superduty Single just arrived, and the knob for the rack adjustment is screwed down so tight that I can’t unscrew it to pull up the adjuster bar. Tried WD40 and a wrench. This ever happen to you?? Super frustrating
Great video.
Hey Eddie!!!!! Heard (from Juanelle Burrell) you moved to the coast maybe? Hope all is well. We've been doing quite a bit of sports photography as a side gig for the last several years. Appreciate all you taught me and the trip we took. Thanks, Brad
I have one. Very strong. You can stand on it. Still haven't figured how to mount it on my Wrangler with the rear spare.
I think they make an extension
I saw one on a Jeep Wrangler with spare today. Looked like they had an extended hitch. Maybe something like this thing? www.harborfreight.com/12-in-hitch-extender-69882.html Not sure.
Nice review. Where did you get if from?
Yea the only thing I don't like is pain in the axx to pull that handle to tilt the rack. How much do u trust those arms to hold the two wheels for a long distance drive?
I've taken my bikes from Massachusetts to North Carolina and back several times. And use them almost every day. No issues.
Super helpful. I have one on my list
Gonna get one very soon.
You won't regret it. I've had mine since 2015, no issues. Solid...
Do they ever have discounts?
I've never seen one. 😞
I just used my new super duty 2" hitch rack. IT REALLY NEEDS A BETTER WAY TO UNLOCK AND SWIVEL. 1up wants you to spend $90 more, on top of the $665-$715, for their extremely poor implementation of swinging rack up and down!
Looked like a nightmare
STILL WHEN FOLDED BLOCK THE LICENSE PLATE THOUGH
Not very user friendly...I'll pass. Thanks fro the review.
They need to take your tools away from you
