Thats a lie. We did everything our vet suggested. We were there every second with him. What do you think we missed because our vet said we did everything. He didn't think he would make it from the start but we tried. We were not going to treat him for cancer because that would be selfish.

We are so sorry for your loss. Please don’t ever second guess this very hard decision. We talk every single day, and I know everything that has been going on for the last couple of years and especially the last few months. You have never given up on him. You have fought tirelessly to get to the bottom of his issues, you have tried everything possible to bring him relief from his symptoms, you have gone above and beyond to help him. He fought along side you, but the other day, he let you know it was time to say goodbye, and you honoured that as well. You guys surrounded him with so much love and all his favourite things in his final moments. He was able to leave this Earth happy, loved, and with a mouth full of grass and grain. It was a gut wrenching decision, but it was the right one to make. ❤ We love you guys.

I still can't look at his photo or videos or think about him without it stabbing me in the heart. I believed he would be ok. Sam and I both agreed we would support him through this no matter how long it took, and it just wasn't our choice. It was such a shock.

I used to have miniature horses and lost one to liver disease. It’s really hard letting them go but some things are just not fixable. You all did the very best for Chino.

So very sorry for your loss ,I knew watching him walk in the last video it was just like my horse at the end .All the prayers all the work couldn't make him better he had surgery on his feet and after that he got worse. Rest easy chino🕊 there are no words you can say that make it easier it just takes time. I am 15 and i unexpectedly lost my horse at a show on july 20th. It is the hardest thing i have ever been through with horses and i thought it would never get better. But i promise you it dose. Just know that you did nothing wrong and did absolutely everything you could have done to make sure he was as happy as he could be. Chino is not in pain anymore and he is running around with Stella watching over your special family ❤

That was a hard decision to make. God bless you! I have known that Chino was going to go, because I never had any good feelings after I prayed for him. Sometimes, we just have to trust that Gods plans are better than ours. I will miss that sweet boy.

Saying goodbye is truly the hardest equine care decision anybody can ever make, but when it is time the most comfort it can give is that it really was care… goodbye chino you were and still are so special to so many people. This truly breaks my heart. The day Sam filmed him laying in his stall flat out. I knew.. I just knew it was coming. I can only say that I have been there. I KNOW how hard it is. It’s so heartbreaking. Just turn to God, and know that someday you will see him again and you will ALWAYS love and cherish him. I wish there was something I could say that would make it easier, but there is nothing. Just know I will keep you all in my prayers, especially Gabby. My tears are joining the flood you guys have surely shed for him. I’m truly at a loss for words. Just know that you guys did your VERY best for him. All of the haters who think they are without flaw could NOT have done any better or more for him. So at least please let that soothe your souls. You gave him the very best! So many would have just sold him or thrown him away as soon as he started having problems. You guys stood by him.

I thought we had all the time in the world to keep trying, but he couldn't, and it's ok, but I'm having trouble turning to God yet. It's too soon. I need the pain to leave because because it's blinding me to letting go.
@@DayByDayVlogs I understand. Two years ago I lost BOTH of my cats within weeks of one another. They had been with me for 16 years and though I always loved them, we REALLY bonded while I was going through my cancer treatment. My family all literally ignored me, not one call, no one checking to see if I needed food or if I was even still alive. Yet those cats never left my side. When I was so sick I couldn’t get off the bathroom floor, despite being cold, they would curl up beside me and keep me warm. I knew my sweet Cricket wasn’t going to last long, she had cancer as well and despite doing EVERYTHING we could (two surgeries, chemo etc) she passed on Thanksgiving 2021, I had just had a full exam on Tink and she got a clear bill of health yet in New Years Day 2022 she suffered a saddle thrombus and was in excruciating pain and I had to make the heart breaking decision to let her go as well. It nearly destroyed me. I still to this day can’t talk about them without breaking down and just sobbing. Sometimes there are animals that I KNOW God puts here for the specific reason of healing us. I truly do not think I would have survived my cancer without my girls. You are a strong and resilient woman, I know you will get through this. Just allow yourself to mourn him and be there for the girls. That’s what is important for now. Again I will definitely keep you guys in my prayers.

I haven’t been keeping up much recently but it’s never easy to say goodbye! I’ve spent two Christmas’s without my boy Harry. I lost him in 2022 and it was the worst thing I’ve ever gone through. I’m lucky to have my other horse who’s been there through thick and thin. I had a true mental breakdown when I lost him. 14 years and he was gone 💔 I know I’m late to this video but my thoughts are with you! The pain never leaves you but you learn to keep going! Rest easy chino! I hope Gabby is okay and getting (or has gotten!) any help she needs to process the loss!
What was the actual problem with him? (Apologies, as I don’t keep up with videos, so I’m not up to speed with this). He had Lyme’s disease? But isn’t this relatively treatable with prolonged courses of antibiotics? Had it started to affect him neurologically? (Again, I don’t know his backstory). Was he tested and/or taken for scans to determine if it was actually cancer, as speculated? Sorry for the loads of questions. I’m just genuinely wondering why the decision was made so rapidly to euthanise him. Why did you change vets? If his pain meds stopped working, surely that would be noticeable/evident over the course of a few days, or weeks… not in the space of 24 hours? What symptoms was he starting to display that suggested to you the pain meds weren’t working in such a short space of time? It looked like he was still eating and drinking with ease. Was euthanasia determined to be the best/ most cost-effective course of action due to financial and/or practical reasons? Whenever you feel ready to, it might be really helpful to viewers if you could perhaps make a video detailing this. Apologies if you have already done so, and I just haven’t seen it yet. I just think it’s important to be transparent about all the factors at play when determining heartbreaking decisions that have to be made when owning animals. Nonetheless, I am so sorry for your loss.
Thanks! Our vet speculated that he had cancer based on tests he had. He said typically a cancer diagnosis is a diagnosis based on ruling out other illnesses and based on symptoms. Because we wouldn't be treating a cancer diagnosis, he didn't order scans to confirm. He had many more struggles than we showed in the last 48 hours because seeing a horse at his worst isn't something I chose to share in a video. I wanted him to leave with dignity and to be remembered as he was. Not by how he left. It was a very complicated decline that indicated he had more severe issues than the diagnosis of lyme. Our vet considers him to have had cancer. The decision wasn't made because his pain meds stopped working. It was made based on his level of health and deterioration at the end. From the start he was given what he needed to be comfortable regardless of outcome. We had decided to financially support any treatment which is why it came as a big shock to us that our commitment didn't make a difference in the outcome. Our vet is qualified to help us with all the choices we had to make and I trusted him and still do. I'm sure there are vets that would handle things their own way and that's ok. This is what we had and our journey and thats ok too

I’m so sorry to hear about Chino. Just know even though he’s not physically there he is in ur hearts forever. When I first watched this, I was waiting to go to my college class and I almost started crying but I had my classmates there ( we were still learning about each other then so I didn’t want to cry in front of them but I felt sad then). Gabby I’m sorry to hear about Chino I know how it feels to lose a horse that u love. Even though I didn’t own the horse that passed but he was special to me he taught me how to ride bareback and now I have some of his mane in a necklace R.I.P Chino

oh gosh Laura, Gabby, Sophie, Sam I am terribly sorry to hear this. Grief never gets any easier, and never let anybody tell you how you should feel it. Chino was such a wonderful horse, it’s been a pleasure to have watched him and Gabby together over the years. I’m just so sorry that his time on earth and with you all was cut short. Sometimes our life journey is full of cruel and heartbreaking moments, that no one should endure. It has been difficult as a viewer seeing Chino struggle to fight this disease, so I cannot even begin to imagine how hard it has been for you all. I hope you are able to be kind to yourselves in this difficult time. A lot of what-if questions will always arise, but stand by yourself and your decisions and know that in those moments you gave chino the best that you could and knew how to. A photo of Chino in the barn would be a lovely commemoration to remind you guys that he is and will always be right there with you all. Take care ❤️❤️❤️

Had to have horse put down a few months ago, fine in morning and then farrier came and said there was nothing he can do for his feet, was a sleep within hours. X Lov to you all

We talk every single day, and I know everything that has been going on for the last couple of years and especially the last few months. You have never given up on him. You have fought tirelessly to get to the bottom of his issues, you have tried everything possible to bring him relief from his symptoms, you have gone above and beyond to help him. He fought along side you, but the other day, he let you know it was time to say goodbye, and you honoured that as well. You guys surrounded him with so much love and all his favourite things in his final moments. He was able to leave this Earth happy, loved, and with a mouth full of grass and grain. It was a gut wrenching decision, but it was the right one to make. ❤ We love you guys.

Rest easy chino🕊 there are no words you can say that make it easier it just takes time. I am 15 and i unexpectedly lost my horse at a show on july 20th. It is the hardest thing i have ever been through with horses and i thought it would never get better. But i promise you it dose. Just know that you did nothing wrong and did absolutely everything you could have done to make sure he was as happy as he could be. Chino is not in pain anymore and he is running around with Stella watching over your special family ❤

This truly breaks my heart. The day Sam filmed him laying in his stall flat out. I knew.. I just knew it was coming. I can only say that I have been there. I KNOW how hard it is. It’s so heartbreaking. Just turn to God, and know that someday you will see him again and you will ALWAYS love and cherish him. I wish there was something I could say that would make it easier, but there is nothing. Just know I will keep you all in my prayers, especially Gabby. My tears are joining the flood you guys have surely shed for him. I’m truly at a loss for words. Just know that you guys did your VERY best for him. I thought we had all the time in the world to keep trying, but he couldn't, and it's ok, but I'm having trouble turning to God yet. It's too soon. I need the pain to leave because because it's blinding me to letting go.
@@DayByDayVlogs I understand. Two years ago I lost BOTH of my cats within weeks of one another. They had been with me for 16 years and though I always loved them, we REALLY bonded while I was going through my cancer treatment. My family all literally ignored me, not one call, no one checking to see if I needed food or if I was even still alive. Yet those cats never left my side. When I was so sick I couldn’t get off the bathroom floor, despite being cold, they would curl up beside me and keep me warm. I knew my sweet Cricket wasn’t going to last long, she had cancer as well and despite doing EVERYTHING we could (two surgeries, chemo etc) she passed on Thanksgiving 2021, I had just had a full exam on Tink and she got a clear bill of health yet in New Years Day 2022 she suffered a saddle thrombus and was in excruciating pain and I had to make the heart breaking decision to let her go as well. It nearly destroyed me. I still to this day can’t talk about them without breaking down and just sobbing. Sometimes there are animals that I KNOW God puts here for the specific reason of healing us. I truly do not think I would have survived my cancer without my girls. You are a strong and resilient woman, I know you will get through this. Just allow yourself to mourn him and be there for the girls. That’s what is important for now. Again I will definitely keep you guys in my prayers.

I haven’t been keeping up much recently but it’s never easy to say goodbye! I’ve spent two Christmas’s without my boy Harry. I lost him in 2022 and it was the worst thing I’ve ever gone through. I’m lucky to have my other horse who’s been there through thick and thin. I had a true mental breakdown when I lost him. 14 years and he was gone 💔 I know I’m late to this video but my thoughts are with you! The pain never leaves you but you learn to keep going! Rest easy chino! I hope Gabby is okay and getting (or has gotten!) any help she needs to process the loss!

What was the actual problem with him? (Apologies, as I don’t keep up with videos, so I’m not up to speed with this).
He had Lyme’s disease? But isn’t this relatively treatable with prolonged courses of antibiotics? Had it started to affect him neurologically? (Again, I don’t know his backstory).
Was he tested and/or taken for scans to determine if it was actually cancer, as speculated? Sorry for the loads of questions. I’m just genuinely wondering why the decision was made so rapidly to euthanise him. Why did you change vets?
If his pain meds stopped working, surely that would be noticeable/evident over the course of a few days, or weeks… not in the space of 24 hours? What symptoms was he starting to display that suggested to you the pain meds weren’t working in such a short space of time? It looked like he was still eating and drinking with ease.
Was euthanasia determined to be the best/ most cost-effective course of action due to financial and/or practical reasons?
Whenever you feel ready to, it might be really helpful to viewers if you could perhaps make a video detailing this. Apologies if you have already done so, and I just haven’t seen it yet. I just think it’s important to be transparent about all the factors at play when determining heartbreaking decisions that have to be made when owning animals.

Thanks! Our vet speculated that he had cancer based on tests he had. He said typically a cancer diagnosis is a diagnosis based on ruling out other illnesses and based on symptoms. Because we wouldn't be treating a cancer diagnosis, he didn't order scans to confirm. He had many more struggles than we showed in the last 48 hours because seeing a horse at his worst isn't something I chose to share in a video. I wanted him to leave with dignity and to be remembered as he was. Not by how he left. It was a very complicated decline that indicated he had more severe issues than the diagnosis of lyme. Our vet considers him to have had cancer. The decision wasn't made because his pain meds stopped working. It was made based on his level of health and deterioration at the end. From the start he was given what he needed to be comfortable regardless of outcome. We had decided to financially support any treatment which is why it came as a big shock to us that our commitment didn't make a difference in the outcome. Our vet is qualified to help us with all the choices we had to make and I trusted him and still do. I'm sure there are vets that would handle things their own way and that's ok. This is what we had and our journey and thats ok too

When I first watched this, I was waiting to go to my college class and I almost started crying but I had my classmates there ( we were still learning about each other then so I didn’t want to cry in front of them but I felt sad then). oh gosh Laura, Gabby, Sophie, Sam I am terribly sorry to hear this. Grief never gets any easier, and never let anybody tell you how you should feel it. Chino was such a wonderful horse, it’s been a pleasure to have watched him and Gabby together over the years. I’m just so sorry that his time on earth and with you all was cut short. Sometimes our life journey is full of cruel and heartbreaking moments, that no one should endure. It has been difficult as a viewer seeing Chino struggle to fight this disease, so I cannot even begin to imagine how hard it has been for you all. I hope you are able to be kind to yourselves in this difficult time. A lot of what-if questions will always arise, but stand by yourself and your decisions and know that in those moments you gave chino the best that you could and knew how to. Hi Daybyday i what to say i am really sorry for you guys abouht chino he was such a really good horse for you gabby it is really hard to say goodbye to a horse you really love and say goodbye to a cat you really love as well also i just lost one of my cats this summer she had cancer under her chin she is in a special place now that place is call heaven and i know that you guys will be with chino and stella again up in heaven some day and i will be with my cat again up in heaven as well😭 and i am always here for you guys if you want to talk to somebody 💕❤rest in peace sweet chino we all will really miss you so much.😢
