If you were there in the Shit 4 release you’ll know that it was foreshadowing of what would come. Unfinished games, withheld and upsold content, bare bone and glitchy packs etc etc. Serving nothing when previous installments had EVERYTHING is one bad thing but refusing to fix your game and instead keep promoting it… is evil and unethical.

I some how got lucky with for rent. Mines not broken but horse ranch update messed my game up so bad. I don't even have horse ranch. Not a horse girly. After this last patch update. I can't do basements. Each time I put stairs or ladders in the basement it just poofs away.

In order for a boycott to happen. RUclipsrs would need to stop marketing for the franchise. And everyone collectively would need to stop playing and buying the game packs. And the game. People would need to stop going on their sites and reporting bugs. So on and so forth. So no, it’s not time for a boycott. This game is an income for RUclipsrs. And we’re their customers.
I've been playing offline since the day before the CCSP patch. No way I'm updating until each patch stops breaking the game even more. So, not only do I not have an in-game shopping cart, I don't get the main menu ads in my face every time I launch the game. That makes it really easy to forget about buying anything. It's like a naturally occurring boycott! Only EA actually fixing the game can stop my cycle of NOT buying! 😁

Also, their QA team is small.

I tried not updating for a week and when I tell you my game became absolutely unplayable! It ended up auto updating on accident and the game is still a shit show! Like fix one bug, create ten others! I want my $1000 dollars back!😪
I couldn't even open mine without updating. And I have it on my home screen. So I wouldn't have to update. It ended up automatically updating itself. Now I can't even make basements. I got lucky with for rent. My mom got it for as a Christmas gift. But I didn't buy horse ranch and after that update and this last one my game is so glitchy
I miss having a sky light, one thing I absolutely loved about building in the sims 4 was the way light came through the windows especially doors with windows and the roof windows 😢

I hate it when the game is lagging, but, the UI clock don't. For my Sims, it may be Monday midnight, but, the Sun is high in the sky and the UI clock indicate 11:30, Tuesday...
Won't buy ANYTHING until at least 80% of the outstanding/worst bugs are squashed WITHOUT introducing any new ones.
I have that issue and have for months with speeding my time up and it delaying when sims come home from work/school. It’ll be 4pm and nobody has come home because I hit fast forward one time in the day. I just quit playing.
@@Momsyoutubecoupi had this issue with my old laptop and apparently when i asked around from ppl it was bc i had too little RAM i think. It got solved once i bought a new laptop.

also when you go to bug reports, the most RECENTLY replied to bugs dont show up first. they show things from like 3 years ago.... coincedence? i think not. theres even something there from 2017

It’s funny, because this situation is mostly cyclical. The community is outraged by the state of the game, but the community is also a collective child. It will forget about being angry if you give it a treat. The next move will be the devs releasing LONG requested content, like cars or fairies, and the community will go back to licking their boots. It happened with werewolves, it happened with cottage living, it happened with horses, it happened with cats and dogs.
The only people that I've seen still buying the packs are the RUclipsrs and Twitch streamers that get the packs for free but still buy the pack right away so that they can raffle off the codes.
Until you can get all of those people in on the boycott, it's never gonna get off the ground. Sadly.
I am so so glad that I haven't opened the sims since before the pre-crystal creations release. All these issues though are making me never want to open it again.

I used to be able to befriend random sims and ask them to move in with my sim, but now i can't seem to do that. My game freezes when I try t... never had that happen before....

I had been boycotting products from Sims due to all the issues we had been dealing with over the last year. Not even two weeks ago I broke down and bought some DLC. I had plans on buying Crystal creations I was really excited about that. I think it might be wise to go back to the boycott
I was not boycotting before. I never bought my Wedding Stories because of the bad reviews but my game was working fine for me before so I still bought packs that looked fine to me.
Although NOW with the shopping cart, terrible glitches post-infant update, and all this chaos- I am at the least not buying any packs whatsoever until some stuff is fixed.
So while there are packs I’d like to have (crystal creations, home chef hustle, For Rent, etc.), I’m currently not purchasing.

the funny thing is, I'm not even a boycotter. I have no intention to refrain from purchasing new material. But the sims has FORCED me to stop paying for their game, out of fear. I don't want to open the game and horrifically mess up one of my saves. I don't want to buy new content because of all the glitches I've heard about. Exactly. I am in the same boat. I am a collector for the sims and have been one since TS3. I own all the kits and packs up until home chef hustle. I was just waiting for 4 rent to be fixed before buying but it is still bugged and every dlc since then has been broken in one way or another. My game is broken enough by the updates. I wont buy DLC that will break my game further
I use MC command Center to control, pretty much everything in my game, and one of the things I have turned off is the ability for randomly generated Sims to be added to my world. I noticed, though that the game did add four new homeless, random sims, and they all had the hexagonal face glitch, except my hexagons were grayed out, so they actually had no facial features from eye to chin. They could not be edited. Naturally, I just deleted them, but now I’m concerned about what’s going to happen when I get ready to play this save file that I’ve been creating for the last few weeks. The only content I still would like to have in the game is multifunctional lots and if the Sims decides to put out a pack that includes that I’m sure it’s going to break the game for a long time but that’s the only content I’m interested in. I won’t be purchasing any other packs or kits. If I have to play my game off-line to avoid updates, I will turn off the online features until I hear that EA has repaired their game… Lol, pretty sure that’s never gonna happen since Bethesda has had broken games for years and not fixed them. Big companies just don’t fix their games. They just keep releasing more content onto broken platforms!

I stopped updating a long while ago but I'm trying to remove all NPC's that I didn't create, so that would be useful as I have MCCC already. I couldn't play the game without it.
I use MCCC too!! How do you prevent randomly generated NPCs?
@@symonehenderson I might have found it but not tried it yet. Try clicking on a computer or a mailbox in live mode and look for MCCC Population. It might be an option in there.

When you call this glitch a disease, it made me wonder if it is a virus or malware such as what was in some mods earlier this year. I think EA should look into this. Because for a glitch to move from one pack or one item to another pack or item is suspicious.
thats not how coding works. code is interconnected. the reason the glitch moved to somewhere else is because the team is lazy and the game engine is over 10 years old.
I think a lot of simmers need to play other games and see that if other AAA companies can’t get away with giving people a mediocre game with nothing but game breaking bugs and glitches, neither should EA. Too many simmers new or not are being way too charitable to a company that cares about nothing but the bag. It’s so sad bc I love the sims franchise but I’ll just play other games and the old sims games before I waste my time with Sims 5 whenever it releases, this whole situation is depressing to see unfold ngl
Yep I do play some other games even though it takes a while to find good ones to play ranging from popular games like Sonic The Hedgehog, Animal Crossing, Shantae, Nights Into Dreams, The Lunime Gacha Games, Minecraft, Mortal Kombat, Monster Hunter, Ace Attorney, Harvest Moon, and tons more so far and I enjoy these games too. I even wanna save enough money for buying all the Five Nights At Freddy’s games and some of the Final Fantasy 7 games as well. I also tried to find some old good Sims Spin-off games like Sims 2 games for both PSP and NDS, Sims 2 Castaways PSP, Sims 3 NDS, and the 1st MySims Game for NDS. Though sadly for the majority of the sims spinoff games, I cannot find nor purchase them physically nor digitally because EA gave no shit in continuously supporting and distributing the majority of the Sims Spin off games since they are sadly not so profitable nor not so monetarily exploitable these days. And the retro video game market is sadly too expensive and sketchy if those games are proven to be legit and video game and console preservation problems also add more infuriating hassles in getting them. I sadly ended up pirating some old sims spinoff games since Nintendo and Sony shut down their old consoles digital shops some years ago for shits sake right now.
I deletet sims 4 today. Almost with tears in my eyes because of all progress lost! All those hours! But it's unplayable atm.

Yeah I think the problem is that the average Simmer only plays The Sims games. Not only that but they literally get addicted to Sims so they constantly need their fix of new content so they buy everything day one despite that being a really stupid thing to do with Sims 4.
I play many games and after a month or so of playing Sims non-stop when they release, after that they become my side games that I play when there's nothing else I want to play.
I'm almost on 1000 hours on Sims 4 but others are over 10000 hours on the game.
I can't even imagine spending that much time on one game.

They were going to shut down the PS3 store but they got a lot of backlash so they didn't shut it down.
But you can't put funds for games onto the PS3. You have to put funds into your PS wallet on PS4 or PS5 and then use those funds on the PS3.

I was so sick of the lag from today's patch that I unistalled my game. I spent hours trying to fix it today. I have played since launch and have nearly 2000 hours clocked. I've also spent hundreds on this game as I have all of the packs (apart from some kits). I just had enough today. I might come back to Sims 4 in the future, but at the moment it's draining me and I'm frustrated each time I play.
Though, my game hasn't been updated since December, I do have this one bug is super annoying, infinite loading screens or game completely crashes when I try to place a lot down. I can place a good 3 lots down and then my game crashes completely or just takes me to an infinite loading screen, and this is also a problem EA hasn't fixed since it's been reported a few times.
this 1000%!!!!!!!! i'm picky about lots i place, so i need to look at several options before i fully commit to one...and then my game dies. that and when i try and buy rental lots. fully messes up and keeps me in loading hell!!!!

I'm not buying DLC and I had to disable For Rent in order to play my game. I'm not getting this new patch until I hear about a patch to fix the patch. I probably should back up my games so I don't lose anything. Honestly, I'm just waiting for inZOI to be released. That's where I'll bed going.
I'm encountering new-to-me bugs after the patch, such as kids doing the weird leg stretch thing and taking selfies like they're teens? It's super weird and I can't seem to find anything about other people having the same issue. It's possible it's an old bug and I'm just seeing it now, but I never saw it in my other save pre-horse ranch playing the 100 baby challenge.
Same in my game! My infants and toddlers are stretching to child proportion. It fix itself after a few minutes. The selfies for kids too

What are some of the bugs?
@@reading1713 it’s really wonky when you equip on all outfits and remove from current outfit for example, if you remove from current outfit and switch to another outfit in the same category, the jewellery will be worn but the powers will not activate.
CAS jewellery is permanently remove when you equip custom jewellery, it doesn’t come back after you remove said jewellery.
@@reading1713 There's a bug where if you have CAS accessories on, then you equip and remove Crystal Creations accessories, the CAS accessories won't come back on (this is not a feature, it's a bug, the reason why I know this is because the vanity table from Vintage Glamour equips custom make up and when it's removed the make up you applied in CAS returns)
There's also a bug with equipping jewellery on all outfits and removing it from one outfit in a category, if you do that, the whole category is disabled and its jewellery doesn't function even if you remove it from one outfit in the category, all of the other outfits in the same category don't work anymore.
It's sad, because this new pack has me wanting to play so much. I absolutely love the buffs you get from the jewelry. Doubling satisfaction points and making needs slowly increase is so incredibly busted, and I love it
They NEED to do a complete recode.
Its physically impossible to fix one issue w/o causing others in spaghetti code. This game is 10+ years old. It needs to either be recoded or put to rest.
I can’t believe they just started working on The Sims 5 or project Rene. I think The Sims and EA are in full panic mode right now. So many other life sims are gonna be out for at least a year or two before they ever finish TS5. They thought they had a monopoly on the genre so they took advantage of customers. I can feel the boycott everywhere, on Facebook too. It’s starting to snowball. Also its kind of interesting they haven’t showed off any progress of project Rene lately..
I can’t even buy anything new rn cuz they removed the only payment option i ever use (Ideal) i wanted to grab the growing together pack since it’s a lot cheaper rn but oh look no payment option i can actually use. So yeah they can suck it i’ll just get some new game off of steam since they do have my payment option.
Also main issues i have in game are issues regarding gardening (some plants won’t weed others grow weeds or evole sparkles but cannot be evolved cuz it’s “not in season”, then random lagg i only have eye defaults and skin defaults in my game rn so it should run fine yet it doesn’t. And infants OH BOY i had my sims basically keep taking them out of the crib when they were tired af. And they just refuse to take care of them on their own making it a real pain. I’m doing a legacy challenge that required gen 2 to have a vet clinic and it’s so annoying to be unable to open the clinic cuz your sims are so janky with the infants you cannot leave them alone and have to micromanage EVERYTHING
that is why I play the giveaways so I can get it free because clearly it isn't worth my money at this moment!
I think EA knows it's game over for them once their competitors (Life by You, Para lives, etc) drop, so at this point their just trying to scrape up whatever revenue they can squeeze out of TS4 before they lose it to the competition. They're saving most of their effort for Project Rene most likely.
My game has been randomly crashing for at least a couple months now. It’ll just crash at random times, usually when I’m in manage worlds or build mode but it’ll happen at any moment. I started setting timers so I remember to save every half an hour. I haven’t played the game for weeks now because it’s too broken. I’ve been buying dlc for this game since I got it when I was 11, and I’m so passionate about this franchise that it breaks my heart. I’ve been putting years and years of my pocket money as a kid into this game and honestly simmers deserve some sort of compensation for the fact that we can’t PLAY a £1000 game that we’ve bought. I don’t know what compensation could look like but honestly it’s completely unacceptable that not only are they NOT fixing the game, but they’re STILL trying to get us to buy more packs! Disgustingly greedy from EA here.
The one major issue I have found after returning to this game and updating the mods that needed updating. From what it seems, other people are having the same issue, modded and not modded games.
The interaction menu doesn’t show up so you can’t interact with sims in your household or outside, but you can interact with pets and objects. You can’t even shift click on a sim to do anything with now. I have never seen a game get so broken from an update before, let alone with emergency updates being pushed out to “fix” the issues caused by the update.
Issues I have:
NPCs randomly walking into my home and using EVERYTHING and Cooking and harvesting MY Plants
All my Sims have the same NAME and TRAITS
I can click on items and other Sims just not my own Sim
I’m planning on going back to my favorite Sims… The Sims 3 on my other PC
I have all the Sims 4 and the Sims 3 and I’ve ONLY even had issues with the Sims 4
I heard from RUclipsr Someordinarygamers that after EA laid off employees, they also no longer develop licensed IP games and only focus on their own IP. If they fail to develop and maintain their own games even with AI, well EA will eventually fall off their own asses onto their own shit then. From EA to EAYAYAY oof.
My sims barely do anything anymore when I tell them too. I click on them to do ANYTHING and they stand there.... then just cross it off. Compare that to Sims 3 and sims will literally stand there and wait for the space to be empty or tell you exactly why they cant do that
I am not touching the game until they fix it. Only issue I had was sims sitting still missing college classes. Nothing else. But I don’t want other problems. I’m playing sims 3 after watching your video got some packs and I forgot how amazing it was

The sims 4 is done, don't buy any more content if you still want to play. I broke down and got for rent and I regret it. Haven't gotten the crystal pack and not spending any more money on this game no matter how badly I want content coming out. Until my game works as is there will be no more purchases. In fact I may just choose not to buy anything anymore. New life sims can't get here fast enough right now. I stopped playing in December and have been sitting back watching the EA drama. When I know I can safely get back in I will.
tbh it's insane to me how they are not getting sued or something, people paid a lot of money for shit that doesn't work, is this not like stealing? they should either fix that or start giving refunds cause what the hell. why do we even have to beg, it should be working since the release, they got the money for the testing and everything this is ridiculous
the bug at 3:33 is very interesting. I noticed this face in CaS assets preview since Growing together. I heard it's also the face of the Grim Reaper under the "costume".

I haven't purchased any packs since probably the werewolf or cottage living packs, and I don't have these newest releases, but I still haven't updated or played the most recent updates out of fear the game will start having the same issues. I just started trying to get back into TS4 just before this went down. 😭 I hadn't played for a year, tempted to take this as my sign to stay in TS3 forever.

it’s been months since i had TS4 installed because it was taking up so much space on my computer and the bugs made it a nightmare to play. i was hoping it’d get better at some point because i really enjoy this game, but clearly it’s only gotten worse since then. very disappointing

I just started playing sims 3 cause of all the complaints ive heard about
Ive been trying to decades challenge, got through 16 yrs (64 in game days) worth of gameplay...and now my main households arent able to be played. Like...they are there, i can move them to another house, but i cant enter the house they are in and play them. So...i guess im starting again....
I built an apartment with three floors with two medium units on each while having a shared kitchen in the middle. My building was kind of awkward where I just made the space for the kitchen from a windy nook before the balcony. So there is one in between them for all floors. It was built smaller than the lot by length of 30x20. My sim's having issues on cooking and using the sink there. I set their bathrooms sinks into all with how the dishes were piling up. The cooking part I think wasn't a problem for a while. This happened before the first malfunctioning oven explosion.
There is one more thing that's tricky to work about. when I visited a apartment they weren't there, that was fine, but with it was on the same floor. I thought he could've grabbed a snack as he was hungry before we left. They can't reroute through their apartment to get to the kitchen. I tried to break in to let him go that way, but immediately the sim came back glitchy walk through the wall, or something. I had the wall tab down, so I don't know for sure, but she slipped her in. Anyway, I had to cancel and get out of there, because that sim wasn't there for that. I tried to visit again thinking if she got home for seeing her, but she was still not there. I didn't try breaking in for the kitchen again, I just sent him home and feed him. It would've been okay if it did not to kick me back out since we never touched the door to break yet before seeing her right away.

do y'all remember when we got dine out and it was messed up and we complained for a little while and then started buying more packs again? then my wedding stories could not even perform a wedding and we complained until a shiny new pack came out with annoying babies that your sims refused to care for which is still like that. for rent coming out and people having their games completely broken by it and then crystal crack or whatever coming along to mess it up even more. let's stop buying dlc for this game. let's stop playing this game

Its so bad the issues its almost funny. For clarity i have every dlc. I buy cuz i want it for my gameplay. But yeah my rig is good and the simulation lag has never been an issue until this new patch that followed crystals. Like it’s beyond bad

anyone else experiencing the glitch where your sims needs bars mess up. IE low hunger is green + no uncomfortable moodlet n then they vanish without the reaper or is that just me and like 3 people being ignored on the bug report site
i never really had any bugs so far but i also dont play that much like if i do i might play it for a few days and then i dont touch it for months or even a year it just gets boring so quickly and i grew up playing the sims 3 and even tho it crashed too many times it was more enjoyable than the sims 4 and i cant even play the sims 4 without mods while i never used mods in the sims 3

Im getting my paycheck next week, and im using it to buy the sims 3 and all of the packs (look steam has all the packs as a package with 50% off if you buy it like that).... I still havent updated my sims 4 game, so i still have my pre-crystal creattions stuff, but after all this i just dont wana play it right now.

Honestly until they fix anything. I deleted Sims a couple months ago because I needed space on my PlayStation. And until everything is fixed. I'm just going to continue playing star. Dew valley.

I switched over to pc with my friend's help from console because I thought it would be better since the sims team actually listen if enough people yell loud enough and we agreed to split on packs. I'm tired of the updates breaking not only mods but also the game!! It's nauseating to have this as one of the only triple A games that I play
I hope the majority of simmers boycott. Finally they understand what the “negative” simmers saw coming all these years. Idk if EA cares enough though, they may just scarp Sims 4 which is fine with me, no updates.

I was playing eariler, and i couldn't even save my game every time i clicked on anthing it woulnt open, so i had to force quit. It's so ridiculous how broken the game is.

I discovered to fix Sims4 I had to delete Sims4, Delete EA, reinstall everything and then the game is still bugged to heck - my games not been played in over 1 1/2 years remember, so this is just what the updates have done to it.

If people stopped pre-ordering everything then EA might actually put some proper work into the game.
People can't buy 50 broken packs on day one and then complain that they bought 50 broken packs.
If you continued to buy everything on day one after a few broken packs then you're part of the problem.
I never have and never will buy Sims 4 dlc at full price. I wait months and for sales before buying anything.

i help this game so much by merging all of my CC into clean packages, only dowloading mods from curseforge so they're always updated for the next patch, move my screenshots somewhere else so they dont weight on the game, clear cache, don't open anything else but sims 4 and somehow this fcking game is laughing at me with all the random lags, bugs, glitches that are never fixed by the creators of the game themselves. So done ! i almost bought for rent and crystal creations thankfully i didn't. I don't think i'll ever buy anything else from them until the game receive its final terrible update and modders can finally fully fix and enhance this trashy superficial mess of the game

I love spending time curating mods together and money getting overpriced add-ons to have everything be destroyed. I haven't bought anything past the country pack. It is beyond irritating and unacceptable to have this game be unplayable due to incompetence and laziness.
Too frightened to open any legacy games, will NOT be buying ANYTHING further from EA after this disgraceful development....almost 1000 hours on Sims4 alone, imagine what else I could have been spending my time/money on?? I will be finding out now and it CERTAINLY will NOT be EA buggy rip off games.

All everyone needs to do is take a stand and refuse to buy their next pack. This will be the ONLY way to bring these problems to the attention of the shareholders if you hit them in the ka-ching. But you know, and I know, that will never happen. Very sad, but true. The next pack MUST be boycotted and any new content thereafter, or us simmers will just be stuck with a monumentally overpriced game that doesn't work
POSTEDIT: In reality they need to suck up their over-inflated egos and reach out to the modders to help them get this game back online. Why can others do it and not the EA team?

this game has been dead since parenthood. a modder had to custom make a patch for a bug i was having, when she stopped playing sims, the support for the mod vanished and the original bug persists. what forums? what tech support? EA knows fans will keep paying because there's no alternative. boycott is the only option. haven't even played since 2015 and this game is still disappointing me.

The Sims 4 has been quite buggy lately, especially with family interactions. I'd instruct my sims to do something, and they just wouldn't listen-it's incredibly frustrating. That's why I've switched back to playing Sims 3. It's been six months since I made the switch, and I haven't encountered any bugs so far. I haven't even touched Sims 4 since August.
