Nintendo can be very stubborn, and I think that's why they never brought out their own big, comfortable Joy-Cons. It would have messed with their original design philosophy of a single Joy-Con doubling as its own controller when turned sideways. Fortunately, Hori stepped in with their own options, and I own and have enjoyed both the Split Pad Pro and Split Pad Compact. But it's just time for something better, which is why I've recently ordered the Mobapad M6 HD. It hasn't yet arrived, but everything I've seen about it on this channel suggests that it's the Joy-Con alternative that Nintendo should have made years ago. The Split Pad Pro and Split Pad Compact were great for their time, but I'm looking forward to getting an HD Rumble experience with comfortable grips in portable mode.
I bought a Split Pad Compact off of amazon for €25, and its made games like Skyrim far more enjoyable to play! I have a Linyuvo KS42 in the mail too, can't wait to compare them.
I wish someone would make a bluetooth module that you plug into a power bank to make wired controllers wireless. My dock is above the TV and more than 10 feet away and wired controllers are just a pain to use.
I have a feeling the reason why it’s like this. It’s because they decided to make them look more appealing in the store so that you would say hey let me get this because it’s more comfortable and cool designs, but then you become disappointed with how lacking of features it is you would put up with an inferior joy cons!!
I have the Sonic ones and can confirm the design is absolutely sick!! Love them! Absolutely agree that they all feel incredibly cheap though...and that's because there's nothing in them 😂 it's a crying shame Hori have never innovated with these! No battery, no wireless, no rumble. Come on...that's the bare minimum these days...it was the bare minimum when these first came out, let alone now!! The way AJ recoiled when touching the disgusting rubber buttons is the exact feeling that runs through me every single time 😅😅
only if you exclusively play in handheld. the nubs and lack of wireles support make them dealbreakers would love to try thr binbok slim so it fits it my max carry case but otherwise im fine only plaing 2d games in handheld with the skull&co gripcase (though i wish theyd go back to the TPU style and give the option for old or new grip styles)

Honestly if they didn’t have the things on the back I’d love them.

Third party companies do what Nintendon't
The Hori joycons are still good but the Mobapad is king.
