    Any replacement neck manufacturer recommendations ? The Mighty Mite looked like good build quality and decent price

    Really good video Landon....thanks. Off topic: I love bound tele's but hate giving up the comfort cut in the back. I've never seen a Tele with both. Why can't Fender bind the top only and then give us the belly cut with no binding on the back?

    From Leo: Good job properly locating the holes to install the neck. EVERY screw on a guitar should thread into a waxed hole. Way to many guitars out there with frayed and stripped screw holes.

    Well done. I've got a mighty mite neck on my orange stratocaster and I love it. Out of the box it took a bit of work to get it right. A few high frets. Hope yours is good.

    Plot twist: one or two frets up on the neck where it meets the body are waaaaay low. LOL, just messing with you, but I use small strips of hobby wood to keep the clamp off of the fret wires. Thanks for the video.

    Landon, a question about neck relief and your Partscasters. When you swap the neck, do you check the neck to make sure it's marginally straight before attaching? I understand that further setup would be needed afterwards. I've always been curious about the starting point when you attach a brand new neck assuming that it will require further adjustments when you set it up later.

    what would you suggest i do if the neck replacement doesn’t perfectly fit perfectly in neck hole in guitar, there’s about a 1/4” of space... lost on what to do.

    • @landonbailey
      @landonbailey  4 года назад

      that's a tough one. what is the neck and what is the body?

    • @christopherk10
      @christopherk10 4 года назад +1

      @@landonbailey Well, its an old telecaster shaped body and i bought an inexpensive tele replacement neck. Looks great with body but doesn't fit in nice and tight i was thinking maybe shoving some thin plywood in between body and neck.

    • @landonbailey
      @landonbailey  4 года назад

      that's tough. I can't really say what to recommend without seeing it in person. In the past couple years I've stuck to using only official Fender parts to avoid any mismatches in parts fitting

  • @dalepal

    Nice upgrades. It’s a shame the neck that was on it warped like that regardless of the cost but I suppose sometimes you get a deal and other times you get what you pay for.

    • @landonbailey
      @landonbailey  7 лет назад

      Dale Palmer ya lesson learned. the company is now defunct. maybe for a reason. I know you can fix a warped neck, but time is money. 😁

    A late comment: bar soap works just as well as wax for lubricating wood screws.
