Soon Big Boss, Miller, and an third unknown person are sent to a hospital where Snake falls into a coma for 9 years and thus, begins the events of The Phantom Pain. The story deals with Big Boss' quest for revenge on those who destroyed Mother Base, along with the foundation of the "Diamond Dogs".
