Update! I'm so happy!! And so are my babies!! They love their food it's really easy for me too! I also have found their portions keep them satisfied. I have 6 rescues and I just can't say enough how much these recipes have been life changing. They always looked forward to dinner but now it's like a party! Thank you so much for sharing these videos!!!
Very well done. Well spoken, clear, concise, not a lot of stumbling language and fumbling around. This lady is a pro at going this. Best homemade dog food demonstration around.
Another good add in is chard, eggs and egg shells for added calcium. Of course boil and bake your eggshells and I grind them down with my coffee grinder.
Thank you so much for sharing your recipes! My dog has always had digestive issues with regular dog food. I tried your recipe for my dog and he is so happy and so am I. He gives me extra hugs and kisses because he is a happy boy. Thank you🙏🏽
I’m going to be a first time puppy mommy in December, and ever since watching your first dog food video, I knew from then that whenever I finally got a puppy, I’d be cooking for her! I’m so excited to finally be able to do this soon, I’m making all the preparations now so I’ll be ready when my baby girl comes home!! 🩷🐶🍲
Lexy, I just found your page last night and I was like "I have to stop watching or I'm not going to get any sleep". Safe to say I'm here the next morning at 8am watching and can't wait to create homemade meals for my GoldenDoodle! 🎉 May Jesus bless you and continue to shine his light on you.
I've been wanting to make my own dog food for so long. I finally had a few minutes to look it up today and came across this video. I'm so excited to try this! I love how much you broke it down! I'll report back after I make it and she tries it 🥰
Hi Lexy your dog food has changed our lives I made my first batch on Friday and OMG I can't even go in the kitchen without them getting excited. My tiny yorkie now licks his bowl clean I'm sure for a full 2 mins after the food is gone and my other one stands by to clean up anything he may have missed. Thank you so much the recipes are easy to follow and the ingredients are readily available. So from me, Tucker and Luna please continue doing what you do.
I have been making dog food but felt like I was not covering all of the nutrients needed. I can't tell you how happy I am I found your RUclips. The ingredients are amazing and I can't wait to start making treats too! I have 6 dogs, all rescue babies. I have always been concerned about what is in dog food which is why I started making my own. I am so happy I can make a healthy nutritional food for my babies I could honestly cry I'm so happy! I love watching you with your babies it is sooo sweet and makes me laugh because you are so sweet and genuine. Thank you so much for your videos because now I have so many different ways to make great food for my babies!!
I’m glad to have found your channel! I’ve been making dog food just since we got our rescue three months ago. Axyl, a 6 year old mini schnauzer. You’ve given me lots of options and new ideas. Thanks.
Thank you, Lexy! Another great dog food recipe from you. I cook with all of them that you have shown here. Bless you and your beautiful fur babies ❤️🙏❤️
Thanks for showing how to use the insta pot, and how to set it. I just ordered one, that’s coming today, so I can make my dogs homemade food. I’ve never used one, or made any homemade dog food, so I appreciate your showing what setting, and for how long. I can’t wait to make my two small breed dogs, some homemade food. I have an 8 year old Long haired Chihuahua, and a 3 and 1/2 month old teacup Yorkie puppy. Great video! 👍🙂
Hi Lexy, a little tip that makes me feel more secure with the Instant Pot release is to use a long handled spoon to flip it open. Those big bursts of steam can be scary. Best wishes and blessings.❤
Hi Lovely Lexy Nicole! You are just the loveliest of lovely’s, and it’s wonderful of you to share with us your recipes for our pets, large and small. I’ve read many of your beautiful comments and testimony’s and am hoping this recipe will help with my dogs itching and licking. I’ve tried several different kinds of fresh food but I’m not sure if that’s what’s causing her problem. She is a rescue I’ve had for about 7 months and it just me and her, no children, grandkids or husband. I’ve been massaging her with Witch Hazel that stops her itching for a time but I think it’s the food that’s doing it, so, wish me luck with your recipe! Love your high spirit and exuberance! Stay well and God Bless.
Thank u. My dog just turned a year old and she stopped eating dry, wet, and refrigerated dog food. I got scared so I just started cooking for her. I've been making steak, broccoli rice, sometimes a fried egg, and some pumpkin puree the top it with the steak broth from the cooking. I'm glad I was n the right direction lookin at ur video. I'm tryin to get better wit this.
Your dog is smart. Purina dog food & other brands has been making dogs sick, some dieing. Most kibble causes cancer. We didn't start making dog food til after our dog got cancer😢
@carla89cc thank u so much and i completely understand, my dog before my pup died of cancer, I was devastated. Took me a year to get a new pup but I still called her my other dogs name and cried so much to the point I didn't think I was ready for another. My pup is a year now. If u need to vent, im here for u.
@skiesthelimit1336 yes, i buy Kelp Help from Amazon, it usually last around 3 months for my girl. I also gave her the omega oil, I forgot the brand but it's in a tin can, I want to say it's native but I only used one tin. I liked it. After using the suggested dosage for 3 days I seen a huge improvement with how shiny her coat became but all that oil at once she had the runs so I went from 7 pumps to 2 pumps until I finished it. Her coat is still shiny as I add coconut oil to her food. But I do keep the kelp help on hand, i really like it
Enjoying your videos so much. Just starting to transition my 2 babies to homemade, and your videos have been a huge help. Would love to see a chicken live dog treat video. Treats will be the next big transition we will have to make. Thanks again for the info.
Lexy, I have been following you for over a year and love your recipes! I’ve also made many of the homemade dog biscuits and bought the molds with the cute shapes. Thanks for all you do. Hope I win!
Oh my gosh! I love your dog food videos! You are the reason that I started to cook for my dog 😊 years ago! I think it was one of your first videos because Sweet Blissy was a puppy then! They look so cute with their matching sweaters 😊❤️🩷❤️🐶🐶🐶🫶🏽 I can never find pumpkin purée here in Denver,Co!
aww you have been here for awhile 🥺💖💖 So happy I could inspire you to try homemade dog food. Thanks so much 🥰🥰 Do you all have a Walmart? They sell the pumpkin purée!
Hello Lexy, love love your videos. I have a yorkie (Sophie) who suffers from allergies and I saw your videos and am anxious to try some of your recipes. We actually have four more dogs in our home all different ages and sizes. Thank you for all your tips and important information. I've learned alot. Please continue with your great informative videos. Thanks, RMDOMING! "Family, where Life begins and love never ends!"
Hi sis how are you doing I just love dogs for real and it ablessing make there home made dog food is so good for them ok sis stay safe and blessed until your next video
So awesome I am so excited to try the different combinations of proteins and vegetables. My dogs are doing so much better especially with their skin allergies. I need an Insta pot so I’m hoping maybe I will be one of the winners. Also love all your videos are you home tips
Hi! Just found your videos today and I am in love!! I have two boys that I am hoping to get on a healthy diet (my pug has some allergies) I was curious of how you store your dog food and how long it lasts? Thanks for making videos like these!! Saving and subscribing 😊
Hi! How do you store the leftover dog food? Do you freeze then unthaw it in the refrigerator, unthaw at room temp or warm up the food and let it cool before feeding? Thanks!
Hi Lexi. I’ve been making your recipes since my standard poodle bloated for the 2nd time on kibble. He and his doodle sister now love your homemade food. Your videos make it easy and fun. Bethshap77
Another update. I have started using lentils and my dogs love them! I wasn't sure at first but they love this addition to their food! I also feel it satisfied them more vs. rice. I'm so grateful for finding this channel. It has helped me make what I feel is quality food for my babies. Thank you again so much!
Hello I just found your channel and I loved your video for making homemade dog food. I was wondering, do you heat their food up each time when it is eating time or do you serve it cold from the fridge? Thanks so much.
I am just starting to make my dogs food. She has allergies and I was thinking it was chicken but then when she got sick one time it had to make a bulking food (diarrhea ) and i boiled up some chicken along with other stuff and she did great so im wondering if its the “meal” in the food causing her to lick like crazy. I even had her on beef not chicken but they add chicken meal to it. I just bought “victor” claiming to be a VERY good food and she’s licking like I’ve never seen before so I am going to start making her food so i can control what’s in it and see how she does. I will be following your channel on different recipes to try
Hi if you only have a crock pot would you cook the turkey separately right. What other would I have to change? Sorry but I would love to make this for my shaddendale terrier and my Yorkie puppy who will be part of my family on Friday. So excited
We have gone 8 years with our German Shepherd having so many skin issues and allergies. Decided to switch to homemade dog food and we really love the instant pot versions of these recipes. Even easy enough for my husband to prepare and cook when I am too busy to get it done. Thank you for putting these out there with all of the great variations on proteins, vegetables and carbs. @reneemarinakos
How long does this amount last you? I am so Happy to have found your channel because I want to start making my doggies their food at home instead of the kibble
Hi Lexy! I just found you during a search on yesterday. I subscribed to your channel and love everything about it. I have been making my 5 year old French Bulldog food for about a week now. I got a recipe from a friend. However, I like yours better. I need some advice. My Frenchie, Willow, is 5 years old and is about 8 lbs. overweight. With your recipe, how much food would I feed her. I feed her twice a day. I need to get the weight off of her. She gained weight on kibble. I just do not know what the portion per day, twice a day would be. Can you help me with my situation? Loving your channel. Thanks, Jennifer
I love this video!! I would love to do this with my dog. She is a tad overweight and currently is on vet prescribed dog food that is lighter on calories. I wanted to ask how do you calculate the portions to give your dogs? Also is this freezer friendly?!
Hi ! i have a question. If I dont add bone broth can I still just give a multivitamin? I give my dog the zesty brand and also the allergy vitamins since he gets seasonal allergies and Im hoping to change his food to help with that.
I’m new here an what I have listen too I interested to know we’re you get you vitamins and calcium? Thank you for all your information I have 4 older Chihuahuas. They are noisy but I love them!
I have been cooking for my 4 Maltese for 6 years since I had my first one. Then one of the pups had a vet emergency and can you believe the vet was insisting I stop cooking food and give them kibble. Even though they were are healthy. I couldn’t understand. I let them know that my vet said it is perfectly fine to cook for them because he does it as well. Do you freeze your food since you make big batch?
I love the idea of making homemade dog food (I'm beginning again with our new pup), however, I want to caution those who have breeds predisposed to DCM to not add Lentils, Sweet Potatoes, Beans (not including Green Beans), or Peas which can exacerbate the heart failure/arrhythmia issues in those breeds! (DCM) is a serious heart condition that causes a dog's heart to expand and is most common in large and giant breeds, but it can also affect medium and small breeds. Some breeds that are more prone to DCM include: Large and giant breeds: Doberman Pinschers, Great Danes, Irish Wolfhounds, Boxers, Newfoundlands, Saint Bernards, standard and giant schnauzers Medium breeds: Cocker Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels, Portuguese Water Dogs Small breeds: Boston Terriers, Yorkshire Terriers, Pomeranians
Thank you for another homemade dog food receipe, i have been waiting for another lol I do have a question, i noticed you didnt add the calcium to their food, is it because you added the supplement in their food in the morning? Also, i think in your last video you used the farmers dog supplement mix and now you used a new one, i was wondering if the farmers dog didnt work out for you? Thank you so much for this video!! :)
yay!!! I add the complete supplement to their food in the morning which has calcium in it. You can add more if needed. It worked great 💖 I love switching things up here and there.
Hi Lexy. I love your doggy recipes I’ve made your other ones and my lil furbaby gobbles them all up! Thank you for this new one as well! I’m going to try that Omega supplement also. Wanted to enter your giveaway but I don’t have IG😩
I love your video! I do have a question for you. I have two 10 pound chihuahuas and they are both on prescription diets. My Babygirl needs a low fat diet because she was getting sick off of the food I was feeding her before. Her blood test showed her liver enzymes lower than normal so ever since I have been told she needs an hepatic diet. And my Babyboy throws up empty stomach bile every now and then.. so he’s been prescribed with a high fiber gastro intestinal diet. However, prescription diet is becoming very expensive to keep up with. They just increased their pricing on their supply and I’ve been wanting to make homemade food for my dogs that way I know exactly what they are eating. I asked my vet and she said I could give them homemade meals every now and then but they still need commercialized dog food to get a balance of vitamins and other added supplements that are added in formulated dog food. Is this true? I would really love to cut out buying prescription dog food all together if I could manage it. It’s becoming too expensive to maintain and I have no idea about the added ingredients in the label either.
How often do you cook for them? I have three dogs and it seems that 5 lbs of ground turkey will only last 2.5 days so 4.5 meals. I have a GSD, Frenchie, and a Boston. I give the GSD 4 cups/day, Boston 2 cups/day, and frenchie 2 cups/day. They are 55lbs, 15 lbs, and 30 lbs respectively. I am freaking out that I may have to cook to often. I am just starting this... Anyone have any insights?
Thank you so much to everybody that entered the giveaway 💖 Winner has been selected and they have claimed their prize !! Congratulations to @hannahs4624 🎉🎊🎈
Congrats!!!
So can the 8qt hold the amount of food you're showing here?....because you are using a 10qt

@skiesthelimit1336 yes, i buy Kelp Help from Amazon, it usually last around 3 months for my girl.

I left portion size in description box 💖 Yes it will last in the freezer 3-6 months!
Hi ! i have a question. If I dont add bone broth can I still just give a multivitamin? I give my dog the zesty brand and also the allergy vitamins since he gets seasonal allergies and Im hoping to change his food to help with that.
Hello! Do you know if anything should be added for puppies so they get all those extra nutrients they need?

I have been cooking for my 4 Maltese for 6 years since I had my first one. Then one of the pups had a vet emergency and can you believe the vet was insisting I stop cooking food and give them kibble. Even though they were are healthy. I couldn’t understand. I let them know that my vet said it is perfectly fine to cook for them because he does it as well.
Do you freeze your food since you make big batch?
Can you substitue beef in this recipe? does it make a difference whatprotein source you use with this reipe?
Can you make this on top of the stove and what would be cooking times? Thank you.
Some breeds that are more prone to DCM include:
Large and giant breeds: Doberman Pinschers, Great Danes, Irish Wolfhounds, Boxers, Newfoundlands, Saint Bernards, standard and giant schnauzers
Medium breeds: Cocker Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels, Portuguese Water Dogs
Small breeds: Boston Terriers, Yorkshire Terriers, Pomeranians
How many times do you feed the yorkies If I may ask? I will try to make this recipe later. I'm from Philippines :)
I have a small Chihuahua mix that is around 10 pounds. How would I break down your recipes for one small dog?
A fellow dog lover!! Ive got five little dogs. Can we be friends? Love your smile and personality 😍
Thank you for another homemade dog food receipe, i have been waiting for another lol
I do have a question, i noticed you didnt add the calcium to their food, is it because you added the supplement in their food in the morning? Also, i think in your last video you used the farmers dog supplement mix and now you used a new one, i was wondering if the farmers dog didnt work out for you? Thank you so much for this video!! :)
yay!!! I add the complete supplement to their food in the morning which has calcium in it. You can add more if needed. It worked great 💖 I love switching things up here and there.
Thank you so much for your reply, its more clear to me now. Thank you!
Hi Lexy. I love your doggy recipes I’ve made your other ones and my lil furbaby gobbles them all up! Thank you for this new one as well! I’m going to try that Omega supplement also. Wanted to enter your giveaway but I don’t have IG😩
Aww so happy to hear ! thanks so much for watching 💖💖
Where did you get the slow bowl thingy?
Mam may i know how do u store the leftover food and till how many day
Do you have a senior dog food recipe with low protein?
If I don't have enough of one protein source does it matter if I combine 2 to equal the 6 lbs?
How do you measure the food for your bigger dog ?
Thanks! Do you have the recipe as a list?
thanks for watching! Recipe is in the description box 💖
@@LoveLexyNicole thanks!
How many days does this last with these measurements of you were just feeding a 60pound doodle?
