    Robert Prosinecki was a genius on the ball. Admittedly didn`t like to trek back & help out the defence from midfield, but that wasn`t in his nature. His vision in passing was awesome, aswell as his ball retention. To have him playing at my club Portsmouth for one season thanks to then owner Milan Mandaric was a an absolute gift.

  • @RhysBF
    @RhysBF 13 лет назад +5

    I feel lucky to have been able to watch him play for Portsmouth five times at Fratton park, it's fair to say his smoking habit didn't help prolong his career and that he was playing against inferior opposition such as Grimsby Town, but I can honestly say he was the best player I've ever seen at Fratton Park. He laid on so many goals for the likes of Peter Crouch and (before he was injured) Mark Burchill and was a sheer, brilliant showman. One of the best ever.

      If it favors left footed player, it should be Sinisa Mihajlovic. But it favors righ-footed, Stojkovic should take it as he was very good FK taker too.

    Welcome to Earth...the whole purpose of this video is to show his good dribbling actions. It's called a highlight.
    And actually I saw him play for the Croatian NT and he was a class player. One of the best ball controlling players ever. True he didn't have best of times in Real and sure he liked to "strangle" the ball but I can give you a fairly large list of fantastic players who couldn't succeed in Real and some that were almost even ruined as players there.

    Before Dragan Stojkovic left Red Star Belgrade, the club had 3 skillful players : Dragan Stojkovic, Dejan Savicevic and this guy.
    All of them loved to dribble. In terms of dribbling, I think Savicevic is the best, Stojkovic 2nd, and Prosinecki 3rd. However, Stojkovic was more complete, as he was very good in free-kick too. He wore number 10 jersey for the club and for Yugoslavia NT in his era.

    This is a compilation that was made by Sekurarattu that's named Keep Dribble. Shows his ability to hold and keep the ball. If you want to see his goals there are other videos of him. He was a big part of red star belgrade, scoring 4 goals, when they won the European cup 91 (todays champions league). A part from that named best youth player in WC 87 in chile where they won.That team to this date still has the record for best goal difference in youth world cup.

    que tiempos. su mejor etapa en España fue en el Oviedo, donde si triunfó, después en los equipos de mas nivel Madrid y barca no. muy bueno técnicamente, pero demasiadas lesiones, poca capacidad de defender, y una vida no muy saludable. hicieron que nunca diera todo lo que llevaba dentro. esa Croacia era una selección increíble, suker, boban, jarni, stanic, bilic, stimac, asanovic, vlaovic o boksic casi todos pasaron por la liga española.

The world football elite of the late 80's and early 90's all agreed on that he was one of the top youngsters out there. His skills are really rare and demand a high intelligence and great technique as well. For me Robert was a great team player.

    I'm sure that this 5 minute compilation doesn't do justice for how good he was as a player, but all I can say is when I was younger growing up I used to get sooooooo annoyed with showboaters keeping the ball trying to get past 1 player when they could have just easily passed the ball to start a team attack - which is exactly what this entire compilation shows! It's frustrating to watch when I can see his team mates in great positions for him to pass to!

    • @lexsoft3969
      @lexsoft3969 6 лет назад

      You are right. That's why I think Dejan Savicevic and Dragan Stojkovic were much better. Although these two loved to showboat too, but both knew when to do so, unlike Prosinecki.
      These three skillful players played in WC 1990, including in the match against Argentina. Their former star, Safet Susic also played, before replaced by Savicevic. Susic was past his prime then.
      Only Stojkovic and Savicevic were impressive in that match. I don't even remember Prosinecki played in the tournament until I read from internet.
      Stojkovic then was selected in WC 1990 all star team for his impressive performances during the tournament.

    Without injuries, we would be talking about him at a much higher level. Yeah, he did do the same trick every time, however he knew when to use it. Quite simply, at his pomp, couldnt get the ball off him, which made him vital in any counter attack, as people could catch up with him, make runs and invariably hed play the right pass. If you look at his trick, its not always the bloke trying to tackle him who's fooled by it, its the bloke next to him as well!!

    I went many times on stadium when he played for Dinamo Zagreb. Never had a chance to see a better player. Its not just the dribbling, in every game he had 5 to ten brilliant passes that made goal chances immediately. Great imagination,control. But he just needed to be the main figure on the field, he coulndt be one of 11 players,he just had to be the boss on the field, just like Maradona. Thats why he never made it in Real or Barcelona.

As mentioned before this video only shows his ability to hold the ball and dribble. Not goalscoring, which he did every fourth game on average throughout his entire career. Seems to me you post comments withouth sufficient knowledge. Don't think stojkovic, savicevic, jugovic minded him dribbling, he was mvp of European Cup 91.

I am sure he received many passes for his amazing contribution to the team. And if he is dribbling in his own half, even if its for 45 minutes, its not greedy. No risk taken, especially with his technique.
