    I know I’m late to the party but my ‘05 had all these problems and more. Chevy won a class action suit against Delphi for the majority of their gauges being defective but Chevy didn’t pass that $ along to everyone. Only certain trucks got a replacement and only the spedo. I also had an electrical short somewhere which caused my engine to just die randomly.

    My truck didn't start. Needed a jump start. Before I jumped it I attempted to start it at least 3xs. After it started my oil pressure, temp, battery an fuel gauges where all reading zero an no power to my doors or windows. The Heat, rpm an speed still works. Also the cluster stays on after the key is out an doors open ...????

    Actually this was some great advice especially about the OBDII scan tool. Not everyone has the time or they just don't want to be tearing their dash apart to "properly" fix their pretty truck. If the problem isn't affecting the driveability of the vehicle then find the easiest and cheapest "other" solution - until you have no choice but to do a proper repair. Like in the middle of Winter when none of the fan speeds work.

    Yeah that little Bluetooth module is awesome I had the very same one and just to use the free app I use torque light it gives you battery voltage vacuum coolant miles per hour bunch of stuff bunch of stuff actually The torque pro it's only $5 it also gives you your wheel speed sensor values so it won't actually give you a code that tells you what wheel sensor is bad but you can monitor the millivolts and if I recall correctly the torque light also gives you O2 sensor voltages but I could be mistaken it's a pretty slick app

    The Stepper motors that drive the gauge cluster needles fail on all these clusters. There are many companies that offer a repair service. It cost me less than $100 to get the cluster repaired including shipping both ways. Repair included replacing all of the motors and led lights. He also reinforced some solder points that hadn't failed yet but were likely to fail in the future.

I replaced the battery and was ready to replace it, when Batteries & Bulbs said it was not the fob, but some sensor inside the truck (2003 Silverado). Have you experienced this? • @GDS1970

    ok 2003 Silverado my issue is intermittant. in others words you are driving along and all of a sudden the seat belt chime starts to ring then all the small gauges on the right go to zero, I lose the indication dash on the PRINDL ABS light comes on, seat belt light comes on. Now fiddle with the seat adjuster (which is messed up because pushing it forward makes seat go backward) click it back and forth fast, EVERYTHING comes back to normal. I took off all the body grounds and re did them so that is not the issue. The seat heaters do not work, Im about to replace them but I am beginning to think that it is the module under the drivers seat that is causing the issues Any thoughts?

  • @mrbreezeet1
    @mrbreezeet1 3 года назад

    The heating problem sounds like a blower motor resistor sometimes the blower motor itself can draw too much current draw too many amps and that's what actually takes out the blower motor resistor but I've replaced plenty of resistors only and never had a problem again also some of those GM trucks were notorious for the wire harness with developed too much resistance and you had to replace the wire harness that plugs into the blower motor resistor and that was taking out the blower motor resistor as a matter of fact if I recall correctly the harness may have came with a blower motor resistor or the harness was sold separately cuz it was a known issue the heavy red wire would burn up

    • @leestevens2908
      @leestevens2908 Год назад

      It's not the blower resistor, at least not in my case . I replaced that and the blower motor . The problem continued. I replaced the module on the switch . It's a harness short

    Hey there... I discovered your other videos and watched this one. Given your other technical videos. I suggest you do a search for GM stepper motors. You can remove your instrument cluster, desolder the stepper motors that drive your needles and replace them. The soldering is "through hole" type components on the circuit board (very basic soldering / desoldering techniques - easy.) There are even LED replacement options for the backlighting issues you have (or will soon have) as the incandescent lamps burn out in your cluster. Good luck and thanks for your videos.

    Why dont you just fix it right istead paying for all these getto fixes? The gauges quick working because the instruments cluster is bad. Go to the junk yard and get one cheap. Your blower motor doesnt blow on 1, 2, and 3 because the blower motor resistor needs replaced. The lights flicker because there is a short inside the switch you were turning. Its not in the wires, you need a new switch. All those parts can be bought cheap. Buy the resistor and switch new. Buy the cluster at a junk yard. You could keep the total under 100
