Honestly thought that was where this was going for a second
How do you accidentally board a destroyer 😂
@@thefortunateson5593 you just hear “that’s got to be the best pirate I’ve ever seen” as a Somali pirate climbs a destroyer thinking it’s a container ship 😂😂
@@ollieparry6207 😂😂 tbf if jack sparrow boarded my ship, or even someone with as big enough ballls to board a destroyer I think you've lost at that point 😂
Due to one of them being an arsenal fan we can only assume that the legend has gone undercover to destroy the pirates from the inside - unfathomable that an arsenal fan would be a bad guy
Ross Kemp is just a frustrated squaddie.
I wouldnt say that. He has a good job and earns good money;-)
Someday the pirates will actually be in pirate costumes
Ross Kemp saves the World.
Im suprised they didnt send the SBS in. They guys are more than qualified for hostage situations.
But the SBS are based in Dorset, thousands of miles away from Somalia. I dont know where the nearest SBS unit would be. but i assume by the time the unit would arrive to the area. the ship would already of reached land
@@Cjbentleyy i am aware of that. Im assuming there would be a sqaudron based at sea. The SBS would not be effective if they were thousands of miles away from known conflict areas.
@@som2596 exactly yeah
Its too much of a risk, there is no point risking the safety of the crew
@@som2596 the seas big
Keep Calm and carry on.
A waste of money if the warships don't do anything but observe.
They should at least stop the pirated ship and take it from there
And how would they do that without risking the lives of the crew?
“They’re life are in danger if we invade the pirated ships”, arent their life’s already in danger becoming hostages to the pirates
Jamie they’re lives are already at risk so what are you talking about ? It’s better to try and do something now than later because the crew of the ship will probably be executed
Oulalala... an abandonned skiff..... oulllalala... what a risk.
Why a ship on piracy duty doesn't have the capabilities to reboard an retake a vessel is amazing
I mean they probably could, but it would result in 22 dead crew members as well as some dead pirates.
Ross you are a legend!!!
So what happened to the crew ??
All things aside, as a person completely disconnected. It’s wicked to be able to see this kind of thing.
Funny how we’ve come from sinking great naval battleships in WW2 to barely being able to sink a Somalian pirate’s fishing boat.
Funny? I highly doubt a single one of their bullets would have missed a 50,000 tonne battleship let alone a bloody boat no better than a dingy, cop on. It's not exactly a combat situation that requires you to kill the enemy before he kills you, is it? If there were pirates firing back I guarantee you shots on target would be far more precise
The pirates had hostages and if they shot they would shoot the people
J empty ships and boats are used for target practice. You’ll find that the gunners here are actually recruits or just people not specialists in this gun
Not in 1940 now, time to wake up
If you had the chance to unload on a little wooden boat with an expensive fun gun that you definitely don't get to shoot enough.. You'd miss a few shots too, just to prolong the fun.
Ooo baby a triple
Mr Kemp, just for the record going forward...In the UK, Lieutenant is pronounced Leftenant and not Lootenant!! Pedantic maybe, but our heroes need to be properly addressed and respected!! Thank you!!
Wheres the Rightenant?
You're right, but Kemp's British...
@@ZombieCleaner Lieutenants are never right
Well … as a former Lieutenant not in the Senior Service but in the Army I think he gets a pass
Jokes on the navy, the pirates got a whole ass vessel
who's firing the gun, Stevie Wonder,
Has clearly never fired a gun in his life let alone ship mounted
Yeah bro why don’t the trained and well experienced military crew just aim down the iron-sights like in CoD man
That guy giving the briefing at the start looks like he's about to piss his pants
so they just let the ship go with millions in cargo hahahahah what a joke
They don't want to risk the crews lives, so no they aren't going to chase it.
I don't know what happens next but I guess they will kill the crew anyway?
@@thorstendinkelmeier8274 Hardly. They just want the ransom money. If they started killing the crew on board they would risk having ROEs changed NOT in their favor...
@@Federico0 Aye I absolutely don't know how far the pirates are willing to go. Leta just hope the best for the crews out there supplying us every day
This british naval task force is a big joke. I bet if this was the U.S. navy they would've sent in navy seals no matter what the pirates had threaten them with.
legend
The coastal Somali's were principally fisherman until vast factory ships, often Russian, devastated the fish stocks in their region. They took to piracy to feed themselves and families, just like most men would do. Two sides to every story.
If you were a farmer and down the street a better farm opens and your customers go there your first reaction shouldn't be to take the farmer and his family hostage and use them as a bargaining chip.
@@ConscriptGaming1991 shit analogy. If you're a farmer and a massive, armed combine harvester comes and robs all your crop over and over what the fuck else do you do
roverr maybe that isn’t a good analogy either because the fishing vessels stole nothing they took advantage of rich fishing grounds if someone came into the industry you work in and set up a company that does better than yours because it’s say more technologically advanced you get work elsewhere or go down with your company or possibly compete but you don’t walk down the street and grab a random guy and take him hostage for money and say it’s the only way to make money because it’s not sourcing the firepower boats and men to do such a thing is far harder than finding other work
@@ConscriptGaming1991 Nope. The ships illegally fished in Somali waters. They had no right to intrude and steal the livelihoods of the fishermen of Somalia
No point in warship being at sea if it can’t do anything ,
Unless you are a naval captain, in the military, specialise in anti piracy or hostage rescue and you’re typing this from the comfort of your home with your standard civilian job, you have absolutely no right right to say that they are doing the wrong thing and what they could be doing differently. If you want to, join the Navy, join the special forces, and say it to their face. I’d like to see you do better before you somehow criticise thinking somehow you know better.
(not my comment)
The Saldanha crew are probably working with the pirates.
i was half hoping hed pop a berret on stand up and say
"alright lads this is staff sergeant henno garvie of her majesty's sas i am taking control and we will be engaging the vessel and slotting those bastards"
Vinnie Jones is commanding the pirate mothership.
