i really like that this game actually proves the Pokemon are as dangerous as their Dex entries say they are by having them BEAT YOU TO THE POINT WHERE YOU BLACK OUT. if peoples reactions to this are anything like the reactions to being chased in SWSH, this'll be hilarious

Basculegion has the most hardcore backstory for any pokemon I have ever heard.
I honestly dropped my jaw when I heard how it gained an evolution. I never thought I would think anything related to Basculin would be awesome.

Ancient regional variants of Growlithe and Braviary (possible Ruffles and Arcanine too) *and* evolutions of Stantler and Basculin? How fascinating! I think it’s cool that some Pokémon from out of modern Sinnoh got some forms and/or evolutions that have (presumably) since died out. It’ll be cool to explore ancient Sinnoh (a.k.a. Hisui) when the game’s out next year. :)

One thing I love about the Adventures Manga is how the Pokémon are portrayed so realistically. The Trainers in Adventures aren’t just fighting for fun: they’re fighting for survival. Wild Pokémon and the Evil Teams are willing to murder the main characters. It makes the world feel much more alive.
I’m glad that they actually brought this into the games by having Wild Pokémon attack you.
Can't wait to finally experience the sweet release of death in a pokémon game.

This game just looks and sounds gorgeous at times. They still have another 6 months to go but if they could do this much in just 5, I can’t wait to see what releases in January, although I wouldn’t mind it being delayed just to make it better

Eh, it’s not just because it’s open world, the artstyle and feel of the world borrow heavily from Breath of the Wild. Though I wouldn’t say they pulled it off as well as BOTW did though, hopefully some of botw map designers can be brought in.

The combat between Pokémon is still turn-based, but your actions as a trainer are indeed real-time action.
@@matthewmuir8884 I hate this. I wish they'd ditch the turn based system altogether. It's slow and boring. Give us something engaging and fun like Xenoblade Chronicles 2's combat system and they'd have the best damn Pokemon game ever.
If this is a success, I hope they consider doing it for other regions too like Johto. Also it took so long for Stantler to get some type of attention and I love it!

@@firebyte4682 Kalos definitely deserves another chance since it's the only game without any extensions. Galar had Crown Tundra/Isle of Armor and Alola had Ultra Necrozma and Rainbow Rocket. Being a fan of Gen 6 is painful sometimes since even Gamefreak forgot about it

Anyways! The okami and pkm arceus are very similar because it was the old historical Japan inspired
Hope the levels are good. In shield/sword, it felt like an amusement park because there were fences and invisible walls everywhere, it didn't really feel like you were exploring the environment.

Looks like they fixed the frame rate issues, but we’ll know for sure when it’s released. The revamped battle system is so cool, I don’t think I’ve been this excited for a Pokémon game in a long while!
There were never major problems with the framerate. Some people don't get the difference between poor interpolation and framerate issues

This looks amazing. I’m genuinely shocked and overjoyed that Gamefreak is actually allowing the series to go in new directions.
I think the old formula of the usual mainline games held them back because of those games' need to keep first timers' experiences largely the same as well as them having a running gimmick of modern-day regulated Pokémon competition in the form of the Pokémon League, a body which would naturally have largely the same rules everywhere. Taking things into the past before the League existed was a good move.
They've always been doing so.

SM/USUM: explores a darker storyline and better graphics.
LGPE: reintroduces following Pokemon + first Switch graphics game

@@MariOmor1 Graphical formats and story tones are not in and of themselves "new directions". We mean FUNDAMENTALLY. The closest we got was (U)S/(U)M's different "gym" format, and thst wasn't a whole formula change.

I noticed how we don't see the starter evolutions in this, so I hope they'll have different forms, they should since they're not in their home regions 👍
That would be cool, but it just doesnt seem like starters could have "Regional Varients" or new evolutions, all they could really get for example is a custom mega, G-max or Z-move

They revealed you can get an outfit if you preorder so customization is confirmed. I doubt they would give bdsp hair snd skin color options and not this game
In the footage they showed in the direct, you can see a building in Jubilife Village that has a picture of a pair of scissors; it is almost certainly a barber shop, so hair customization is pretty much confirmed.

@Devin Garcia Agreed. I don't have anything against people that want the games to go back to 2D or go into an Octopath Traveler kinda style or anything like that, but come on, we can't have Pokemon Amie/Refresh or all THIS in a game like that.

If this ends up becoming a series of "Legends" games, I hope we can get one about Alola that goes more in depth with the backstory of the Ultra Beasts and Solgaleo, Lunala, Cosmoem, Cosmog, and Necrozma.
Omg yes! The Pokémon in the wild aren’t just enemies for you to battle/capture, but literal _wild animals_ that can pose a real threat to you when scared or antagonized. Always loved it when it felt like there was more at stake, in like, the slightly more grim sense.
Fingers crossed for trainer customization and being able to explore the region with friends. But even if not I’m still hyped!

Damn those 4 tree models looking hella fine. The cities without roads look cool as well and don't get me started on the overall graphics. Just too good and definitely worth of the most valuable gaming franchise
It takes place in the 18th century in what is essentially a frontier settlement; of course the village doesn't have roads.

@@JJT3001 I see you missed the part where I specified that it's a *frontier* village; it's an extremely young settlement that seems to be mainly inhabited by researchers and cartographers and such. The opening of both trailers for the game even states that the game takes place in a time when the region was just beginning to be settled.
@@matthewmuir8884 my G, it might be a young settlement HOWEVER you don't build huge ass palaces without adequate infrastructure. Additionally even in the frontier roads existed in villages.
They were made up of gravel and hardened sand and we're amongst the first thing build when a village was founded.

The Braviary part is seriously so beautiful. It's 100% one of the best moments in pokemon history no cap.
I’m really glad that they redeemed some otherwise hated or forgettable mons and gave amazing evolutions that everyone loves!

@@nedrostram2360 As far as gimmicks go, regional forms may be the best one yet. It absolutely makes sense that Pokémon would adapt to different regions differently - so it makes the world feel more alive while giving them a chance to boost less popular Pokémon into the spotlight.
Can't wait to see what arcanine is gonna look like.

In the leaked photos (which showed these 3 Pokémon), there was another one (kind of like a mix between gallade and sceptile) which was used to climb the mountains. I think they didn’t develop that part of story yet, so they didn’t show that. Hopefully we’ll get one more addition to the team of these 3. (There out on net, you can check em out)
Best pokemon game so far
Everything is looking fantastic, it’s hard to put into words how excited I am for an open-world Pokémon game that looks this good, with great story potential and a banging Okami-esque soundtrack, not to mention the new Pokémon forms/evolutions.
I just hope a lot of the design decisions stick for future gens and/or more Legends games. It’d be insanely cool to see a Hoenn / Unova Legends game!
If this game sells a lot they will know this is the direction they should go forward. I will buy this just for how fun it looks. Being able too catch pokemon at any point and if you miss you start a battle. If they are angry they attack you with moves. While you are able too dodge. This will be a big step up and probably put even more pressure on the next game.
This is literally the first Pokémon game where the Pokémon can hand your ass to you
Sadly it’s just going to be another spinoff the Pokémon company only acknowledges every 5+ years. They only care about spending as little as possible for the mainline games that sell for hundreds of millions, if not billions

I absolutely love that it shows how dangerous Pokemon can be to you if you're not careful. It's sometimes hard to forget that these creatures aren't all willing to be your friend. The dangers just make your upcoming journey much more exciting.
Watching this video just made me wish there would be a game where you don't battle them and just have to survive in the wild. No idea how there'd be a goal to that though and they'd never have a game where the pokeymans are all threats to humans, but it just sounds like an awesome concept. Or maybe you could use your own to escape like riding away from a rampaging Gyarados until it gets distracted.

Ok the music is pretty elegant and solemn during the non alpha pokemon segments as if the world is crumbling and only a single hero can stop it and the alpha music starts with being sharpened and ominous yet action packed as if your fighting a great foe which stands in your path that leads to the world being saved. 10/10 music and the footage is cute and awesome so in all this trailer is a 10/10 in every area

"Hisui" means Jewel. As in "Arceus and the Jewel of Life". Niiiice. I can't recall the last time I was so excited for a Pokémon game. Praised be Arceus!
edit: Sorry for the mix-up everyone! Yes “hisui” means Jade specifically, not Jewel which is “hōseki”. I got the meaning switched up since in the Arceus movie the Jewel of Life is green. I assumed there was a connection there but now I’m not so sure.

Arcanine will be like a big, majestic Shiisaa I bet. Those lion-dog looking statues that guard temples and are an auspicious symbol. That looks like the inspiration for this new Growlithe form too.
I remember the Sun and Moon leaks mentioned a Alolan Arcanine that was supposed to be a water type.

Some of the game really does look awful. Several times i thought “i really want to love this” only to see some of the most scuffed textures ive seen from a major publisher in a minute. Just watch it again and look at the part where he catches the luxray… those trees man.. It’s to a point where some of the good looking textures look out of place

Hisui Region is actually Sinnoh but way in the past. I’m so hyped for this open world experience!!!
I hope in a few years, Nintendo makes the biggest project yet. An open world with ALL regions.
Each region can be accessed by walking paths, taking ships/trains, or riding Pokemon. Every regions is to scale & has every respective games locations present.
It would be a game that casual players could spend months exploring! It would be mind blowing to have this all in vr, for a true first person experince.

It could be a pokemon of the same kind as Eternatus. There were some big connections to it and the Sinnoh legendaries.
Well they are releasing Diamond and pearl again..this could be like the "platinum"?

I like the more adventure style of this game, rather than the more combat style of the normal Pokemon games. I’ll definitely enjoy this.
