IKR it takes so much computer than I can handle . I lack the skills to do anything I want and I'm sick of it I waste hours doing things that probably nobody cares and looks bad and I'm wasting my life
The artwork for the background alone was enough to make anyone want to learn flash/ digital design. The tips are very helpful Jazza and we all greatly appreciate them.
I made it all the way to the point he started adding buttons to each droplets. It is at that point it became unclear to me. I figured it out eventually though. You really have to do it and rewatch to understand this. Thanks for the tutorial Jazza, I'm learning alot~
Oh looks like a detective comic, not to be confused with DC -comics-, but Any-who this scene is very neat looking, and this is a really helpful tutorial.
Jazza, I just want to thank you. For all of the tutorials, showcases, speed paintings and generally for your channel :) You helped me a lot, and you deserve more subscribers :)
Just a tip for a quicker way to reverse them, just copy the frames, paste them in place and while they're selected right-click and select "Reverse Frames".
I don't even animate, but I get so interested by your videos, and I think that you are very good if you can attract an audience who aren't as involved as most of your audience would be.
Amazing to see how fast you can create rain by copy/pasting, without it being too obvious that this is what has been done. However a perfectionist will realize that this technique leads to some perspective errors. E.g. All the ring waves are the same size. To follow the rules of perspective, they should get smaller the further away from the viewer they are. I guess this could be fixed quite easily. Also at 18:07, after the droplets are scaled down to have the right size and density to be used in the background, the patch is stretched to fill in the background. This causes the droplets to fall a longer distance in the same time interval as it takes for those in the foreground, which means that they fall at a higher speed. In real life all the droplets would of cause fall at the same speed. Correcting this mistake can easily be done by copying the patch to fill it out instead of stretching it. It may seem logic to create the reflection in the puddle of water by mirroring part of the background as shown in this tutorial -however this technique is not technically correct. An example showing this, is the top of the window ledge that is seen in the reflection of this tutorial. A bit of reasoning will show that this cannot be the case in real life. Everything seen in a reflection must be formed by light waves send out from the object reflected. However there is no way a light wave from the top of the ledge can hit the puddle. To do this, it would have to go through the volume of the window ledge, which blocks it. Instead the underside of the window ledge would be seen in the puddle. Unfortunate in order to get a technically correct reflection, the background must be repainted from a different point of view, and then flipped upside down. The view point of the reflection must be place at an equally distance below the pavement as it is currently above the pavement for the perspective to be correct in the puddle. However these mistakes are rather small, so if only used in a short scene most people properly would not notice it -especially if they focus on the story being played out by the characters. You are allowed to cheat as long as nobody notices it!
+Jon Steensen I noticed that too but I guess that will make the tutorial even longer... Also, for experts, this tutorial is just a mind opener and for beginners, such a perspective error wont matter.
I love your videos. I think it's funny though how you totally steer clear of backgrounds! ;) That's like the one thing I've always wanted you to do. lol But I know you don't love doing them.
Saw Brotherhoodofbattle while was browsing all Jazza's videos. There was nobody. Wasn't surprising because first video on B.o.B. was released 5 years ago, but i still was sad that i don't have a chance to play. :(
Also you could add more animation details to water in the reflection as I did at gg. gg/hamburgphoto [MAXIMUM SPAM]. Better watch in 100%, not in full screen. It's done with two mask layers copying a reflection, and a bit scaled in and out. Thus you can make various distortions of reflection and make it more realistic.
Jazza, i think you are very good tutorial on this but i felt that i'm cheat on myself to animation which i should learn from you. some where i find hard to see your mouse had hove around the screen. good job,
Hey Jazza, do you know how to link the cloak animation with his shadow ? By sharing your knowledge, I m having so much fun at beginning draw and 2d animation, thank's you so much !
Hey I think it would be a cool idea if you had two camera angles during your tutorials and drawings. One on you like you already have and then the second camera facing the drawing and your hand movement.
Versatility for game design personally, also I haven't tried Toon Boom yet, but I like the idea of doing something in the future
when things go wayyyyy over your head but you still watch it till the end.
I have a more simple approach that still looks really good.

Those were the days when Jazza used to do animation tutorials.
Yesss😶
I made it all the way to the point he started adding buttons to each droplets. It is at that point it became unclear to me. I figured it out eventually though. You really have to do it and rewatch to understand this. Thanks for the tutorial Jazza, I'm learning alot~
You're really talented! You inspire me to get better. Thank you so much for making these tutorials!

Would love to see a lightening tutorial!
Love this one :)
No lightening, it is lightning

Oh, i'll watch it right now. Thanks!
Awesome techniques.
Awesome! Thank you Jazza!
Never mind that question. I just learned about Ortus. Looks cool ^^

Me encanta tu trabajo.

Wow I didn't know flash could look so real (not talking about the background)

Great tutorial as always. :)
Yes! More animation
Amazing job! I really loved what you did there.
Great job, Jazza!!
This really helped
Bottom lane of the distant fog should be less sharp. Use gradient fill there next time.
you forgot the man's shadow animation .. but really really great tutorial
The clouds don't move! XD
Um clouds don't move I real life

Wow, very cool. I was wondering if you could do rain in Flash, and I was needing it for an upcoming Halloween animation =)
great man!
Nice job mate ;)
Another awesome tut! Thank you ^^
you should allow video responses to post our attempt at this. and you can see if we learnt alot from this.
Hey Jazza...your tutorial is very amazing,I like it.Why don't you do the

Have you got any more games planned for the future? :)
This video was incredibly informative. Thank you so much!

That was fantastic! What makes you prefer flash over toon boom?
Very inspired.:-)
Jazza, i think you are very good tutorial on this but i felt that i'm cheat on myself to animation which i should learn from you. some where i find hard to see your mouse had hove around the screen. good job,
jazza u r bomb

Hot Stuff!
Hey Jazza, do you know how to link the cloak animation with his shadow ? By sharing your knowledge, I m having so much fun at beginning draw and 2d animation, thank's you so much !
Hey jazza... great you taught me some of the great things in animation, can you show us different types of 2d animation brother...
awesome work but i believe his coat should have a shadow ...and waving of course. hope not overly critical
What shortcut key did u use for changing the gradient from horizontal to vertical?
+Tahmida Islam Select the Gradient Transform tool (its hidden under the regular transform icon) or hit F to get the tool directly.
Hey I think it would be a cool idea if you had two camera angles during your tutorials and drawings. One on you like you already have and then the second camera facing the drawing and your hand movement.
Could you make a tutorial half human half animal it would really make my day i hope you can get round to doing this thank you.
Dope
Anyone else "hear" the rain when he was playing or testing the rainfall?
Can You Make Alot More Of These???????
its not like i've not tried, and pirate bay does not work, and thats why i was asking jazza
my gradient wont stay the same it will just go back to horizontal when i draw a new line help
Same problem... tell me when you find out xd
I created the rain horizontal converted it to a symbol, and then turned it to the angle I needed.
I think it's better to do the rain with AS
i'd like to see that, i've never used it
Oh my god
You forgot to animate shadow from this dude) And also rainhits not in the perspective.
the bins on the bottom right looks a bit flat and out of proportion
2019 didnt hold him well in shape lol
super) thank you)))
Do a speed painting of batman.
Nevermind, sorry. I was looking at his reflection. My bad.
JAZZA can you update a video about how backgrounds?
