Thanks man and helpful. Just got one to use to build some raised garden beds and replace some boards on our deck.
Thank you, I am going to purchase this tonight. I have never ever used a tool like this, so I am super excited to make so many beautiful things, beautiful to me at least. By the way, your video picture is awesome!
Thank You, and I hope you enjoy your new toy! thanks for watching
Great video for refreshing my use of my 13 amp miter saw! Thanks !!
Great to hear!
Thank you for the video. I was a little intimidated to use this thing until watching you operate it so easily. You took the fear out of it for me.
Great to hear! This saw is a tank, I've had mine for years!
clear explanation. Thank you
I just bought this one yesterday!
Nice! enjoy :)
Great video!
I've had this saw for 20 yrs, I think. Done miles of base with it. I call it the Timex. So much abuse, and hasn't stopped, still accurate too with occasional tweaking.
That’s so true. I leave mine out side all the time and it’s never let me down.
Was debating between the Ryobi 10 in. Sliding Compound Miter Saw with LED for $179 or the DWS715 on sale for $199. Ended up ordering the DWS715. I just do little projects around the house. Hope I made the choice.
You definitely made the right choice. The Ryobi will not last and is less powerful. An LED isn't necessary
thank you, i'm getting it now
Nice! Enjoy
Thanks. Just purchased the DWS715. Would a finer tooth blade work for doing finish work? Baseboard, molding, etc.?
definitely, you always want to make sure your using the right blade for each job
How did it work for you with baseboards and what blade did you use? Thinking of buying one but I want to make sure I get the right one
I am torn between this and the DWS713 10-inch version. For average homeowner DIY jobs, do I need the 12 inches? Thanks in advance.
I would go with the 10'', the 12 can be a bit big to use, especially if your cutting trim. if you can find yourself a deal i would always recommend going with a sliding compound saw. it gives you a lot more for your buck.
Thanks!! When would someone need the saw to have a double bevel?
if you had to put a bevel on different ends of a 2x4 or trim it makes things faster and easier to do with a double bevel.
Would this be a good saw for a beginner DIYer? You mentioned at the end not recommending it for finishing, but I hesitate to buy anything nicer considering how infrequently I’ll use it. I’d like to buy it for baseboards, window, and door trim. Will be cutting 1x4s and other similar lumber. Thanks!
I would not recommend this saw for what you want to do. its to big. you would be better off going with a 8'' or 10'' saw. maybe a small sliding saw would be best. they are smaller, lighter, and more accurate than a 12'' chop saw.
You could use this saw. I just bought a DWS715 and installed a 80T blade and it cuts trim just fine. Just take it slow
Its all in the blade you have on it. This saw is great for finishing. Just get a finer blade for it.
What saw would you recommend for molding cuts?
He said it was not recommended for finishing, but that's exactly what i use it for and it works quite well for crown molding and shoe molding. Also it is not lightweight, not even close, and not that easy to carry around despite the handle on top.
Also i know several full time trim carpenters who use this saw all day 5 days a week trimming out new houses.
I just found one "like new" for $100. Ill be finishing some flooring but will mostly be using to make garage shelves and furniture. I will be cutting some 4x4, is a 12" absolutely necessary for that size?
I would personally use the 12 because I don't know if a 10 inch could cut a 4x4 in one cut.
If you have a chance to test a 10 inch saw I would test it on a 4x4 to see if it will cut it in one cut (I don't think it will, but I don't really know) and if it doesn't I would recommend a 12 in because it will be much easier and more accurate if you only need to make one cut
@@ninenumbersmusic8269 thanks for replying. Unfortunately that $100 one was nowhere near new, with a big ole crack across the handle
@@JJ-iz5ql Sorry to hear that
I snagged one brand new for 200 bucks from Blains Farm and Fleet and it works great but that sale has ended
Home Depot has that saw for 250 though
@@JJ-iz5ql If I had replied 3 days ago you could have gotten it on sale
Maybe it will go on sale again
@@ninenumbersmusic8269 That's an awesome deal. I'll keep an eye out, I'm in no hurry.
I am having an issue I do not know how to fix with my new DWS516
If I make a straight cut there is no problem. If I make a 22.5 degree
cut, it looks fine until I flip the cut over and put a speed square across
the back the cut is not straight and is off about 1/8 of an inch. Any ideas
on how I calibrate the saw to get an accurate cut..Thks..jc
That is strange, especially because your getting a 90 deg. I’ll have to take a look at mine and see if there are any set screws that can be adjusted.
@@hammerandhome Thanks for responding. I screwed up. The straight cut Is NOT straight either after I read checked it. The bevel adjustment was way off from the factory. Took me over an hour to adjust and get it near perfect..thks..jc
@@Samson-EC sweet, glad you got it fixed! I was a bit stumped on how to fix that one :)
Worth 150$ in box? Found one on marketplace
كم ثمنها بالدولار $$
God bless you
I really wants this! But it's not available in my country Indonesia, the only one that's still available is Dewalt 714 which is so shitty because it's a downgrade of Dewalt 713. I don't get it, before DW 714 there was Dewalt 713 which now is discontinued in my country, they changed it with Dewalt 714 as I mention it's so shitty! I will not buy any miter saw unless it's a 715 or at least 713 version, but after what I saw the DW715 looks more impressive than both version combined 713+714!
Why can't I finish with it
You can, but a sliding saw is always better for finishing. More accurate.
I just bought this saw barely used for $60
Sweet deal!
Ill give you 62.50 for it. Make yourself a cool two fitty
@@whooptydoo6256 ok
That will not cut a 6 inch vertical board or even baseboard because of the motor on the opposite side that he measured when you drop it down the motor will hit probably only cut 4 1/2, four and three-quarter at best
Sorry on a straight cut it will on a 45 it won’t
Onto the next video that thing you used to lift it doesn’t exist : got to be better
I can cut bricks?
It’s for wood. Look at getting a wet saw
Thanks
