Great job as per usual Uncle Knackers - I bought one of these 12 Months ago for my home workshop and absolutely love it. After watching this I went out to the garage and turned the alignment light on - I never knew it had one. ;)
My wife surprised me last week with this setup. She found it on sale at Home Depot and my old Craftsman miter saw was on it's last leg, which I have had for over 30 years and it has seen some abuse. The table is easy to setup and the saw is light enough to move on and off the table. So after a weeks worth of use, I have been very pleased with it.
Hells bells mate.....very kind wife you have....l'll have to have a word to mine 😂 Yeah it's a great saw mate. You will be pleased with it...l guarantee it 👍 Thanks for watching 👍🇦🇺😁
Great job explaining all the features sir. You made my decision very easy to purchase this beautifully engineered saw. You also reminded me of the crocodile hunter 🐊 (Rip Steve Erwin) with the funny personality along the way.😂
This is an excellent rear-rail miter saw with smooth action and all the articulation you need. One CON: It is a rear-rail miter saw. It requires a lot of clearance in the back, so you can't mount near a wall, such as on a long built-in countertop under your shop cabinets, which is a popular choice for home workshops. For that, you'll need a front-rail miter saw or one with fancy hinges like a Bosch.

Great information. I've been working on setting up a small hobby workshop in the garage the past few years and the first big tool purchase was a compound miter saw. I went for the Bosch 10" and is perfect for my projects. I have it on a rolling table I had and it's great to roll out in the driveway, saw away, and then use the leaf blower to dust it all off before rolling back into the garage. I never realized how handy the saw could be but I love having it. Keep up the great videos!
Shane, that is one fantastic, well engineered sliding saw! Look again because I think they have a feature that boils the water for tea and a sealed compartment for tea bags and sugar. You did a first class job with the review. I know you’ll enjoy it for many years. …Joe in NJ, USA

I bought the Dewalt DW708 GB version about 20 years ago and I've used it to rebuild on our house. I cannot praise this cutter enough, it was worth every penny from building structural work to book cases and new sash windows it has been excellent. Can't say that about the Dewalt planer, I bought three of them and each one came with a badly scratched plate, I got in touch with Dewalt to ask why they were damaged and after three months later still no reply, ended up buying the Matika model instead. Sadly I think that's the last Dewalt product I will buy.

Great review! 👍 The only thing that stopped me from buying the DW780 was the $600 price tag. However, I was able to buy the DW779, which is almost exactly the same saw but without the blade light, for $380. I was then able to purchase a kit to install a light and switch myself for only around $40. Now I've got a fantastic saw that I enjoy working with. 🙂👍

As of 2022, there is a recall on the DWS780 as well as the DWS779. The safety shield can break, sending projectiles at users which may cause lacerations. A lot of people are affected by this. About a week after buying a very expensive saw, I saw the recall. The fix is a repair kit sent by DeWalt. This should have been a very simple fix but it turned into a nightmare. I have spent the last month, contacting DeWalt trying to get the part sent with no resolution. It started off fine with DeWalt saying they would send the part and to expect two weeks. When it didn’t arrive, I found out it had never shipped and they didn’t really seem to care about making it right. No updates, no communication - they just didn’t send it. I can’t get anyone from DeWalt to take the recall seriously or send the part. They aren’t responding to replies on any of their tickets. Calling has made no difference. No one, including myself, enjoys throwing $600 to the wind on a safety hazard and a non-responsive company. I no longer support DeWalt tools.
Absolutely love this video, explain very clear and precise. I have a DW 718 and I never used it. This will give me an opportunity to do some pretty cool cuts. Thank you.
Thank for the review. I'm looking to upgrade my aging Dewalt version of this saw.. today on a job a guy had a 12" ridged (that sounds odd to say) dual bevel slider that went to a full 70 degrees both directions. I don't usually consider that brand for much but I think I'll see what reviews that thing got. To be able to go to 70 degrees would be nice without clamping down a 45 degree block and doing all that.
I love Dewalt tools. Only drawback with them is the warranty. You are at their mercy if anything goes wrong. And generally, the repair time is quite lengthy, as you have to send the tool in for examination/repair to one of their service centers. I looked at this saw, to replace a smaller 10" saw that was slowly dying. After a couple of weeks researching, I bought a comparable saw (exact same features) for $200 less. Quite happy with the purchase. Great video.
G'day Paul, my old 10" (15 years old) never had the pleasure of going to the vet...luckily so l'm not familiar with the warranty process. I guess it's different depending on where you live 🤔 Thanks for watching mate and well done on getting a good deal 👍👍
Well wear mate, nice saw.. can't beat that new tool buzz. My Mrs. gave me a serious slagging when I was reading the online manual for my table saw weeks before I got it 😁
Great video!!! I am thinking i have seen you " dado" (grooving) dancing but what about the joke? I am thinking that over all the DeWalt saws are great!!! enjoyed watching you as always!
Brilliant video. I will have to make do with my second hand Evolution mitre saw but at least I know how make adjustments on it thanks to the very detailed instructions given in the video.
Nice saw! I couldn't agree more about using 240v (or whatever the corded voltage is in whichever country other people are from) on stationary tools like this. Unless people are working way away from a power source then it's got to be a better move. Ooh you'll appreciate this! My wife doesn't care so I've got to tell someone 😄 I had a win recently! I found an incorrectly listed item on Amazon and got 6 genuine 5amp Makita batteries for £15 each (about 28 Australian dollars). They're normally £75-100 each over here! Amazon listed strimmer heads as batteries by accident and actually sent them. Price and reviews showed as strimmer heads but photo and codes were for batteries. So happy! I can now sell all my Aldi cordless and start to replace with quality Makita tools.
Andy!!!....what a score mate! Well done old son 👍 You won't go wrong with the Makita gear 👍👍 Sometimes all the ducks just line up. Thanks for watching mate....hope you're having a great weekend 😁👍🇦🇺 P.S. Your donation went toward that saw 👍
I wish I bought a table saw first. The miter saw is more of a luxury. The table saw is the first tool someone should by you can do everything a miter can it's just a little more complicated.
I currently have a cheap and basic chop saw, but want to upgrade to this DeWalt... Hence why I'm here, enjoying watching your great video! I'm planning to buy one and use it to build a new chicken coop from pallet and scrap wood, and wondered if you might consider making a video to help a newbie like me figure out how? I've watched a fair few videos on how to build a chicken coop now, but not felt any have given me the confidence to tackle such a project. Having just watched several of your videos (this one and tips for using a mitre saw), I think your brilliantly simple yet wonderfully clear way of explaining things would really help me and others learn how to successfully build a chicken coop. Would you please, please, please consider this project and make a video on it?! Thank you!
Mate, l'd love to build a chicken coop but unfortunately don't have room for one in my small back yard 😢 Thanks for watching my vids and l really appreciate the feedback. Cheers 👍😁🇦🇺🎄.......Good luck with the chicken coop 🤞🤞
Built by Chris really rated the shadowline feature too. I love my Bosch Axial for the lack-of-rails but this looks like a very solid and more affordable option for those with a little more room!
I'm loving the Bosch soooo much more than the Dewalt! (Especially the newer, lower quality Dewalt here in the US.) It breaks my heart to see Dewalt fall so far in quality these past few years. Bosch however has been extremely impressive. I just wish we, in the US, could get a lot of the tools Bosch sells around the world. But overall, the Bosch North America brand will be unveiling new tools in 2022 that will put them over other brands. I wish I could say more... but I will just say this... Next year, Bosch will be innovative, rather than copying other brands.
Hahahhahaha....where else are you meant to put your chewie Mario??? Doesn't everybody do that....just like underneath the desk at school 😂😂 Double bevel is where it's at mate 😂 Thanks for watching 👍😁🍺🇦🇺
Excellent review, some great features on that saw. Is it a waste of money? You'll get the answer to that every time you put blade to timber! Looking forward to seeing you put it to good use.
Very nice review👍. This must be the newer revision of the DWS780… I got mine 2 years ago and it doesn’t have some of the features such as the side extension handles, extra markings on the mitre gauge and rear bevel 45/49 stop silver lever. Oh and your clamps have got the extra knob to quick drop before tightening.
Nice review mate, I got my desalt 12” about 2 years ago and doesn’t have all the features you have….😫 As you said it is big but I like it and my one cane with a free dewalt stand with wheels.
I was drooling with envy when I watched how easy it makes groves as I’m in the middle of making a bench in my shed and doing all my joints and groves with my hand saws and chisels 😫 I keep thinking about one of these but I think the arm will be too long behind it to sit on my bench.
We use those DeWalt saws at work. We thrash the hell out of them. They do break beyond repair every 18 months or so, but like I say, we thrash them! They are a good saw, nice and easy to use.
Great review, Knackers. I've had my Dewalt 12" non slider sense 1998 or so. It and my table saw are the most used tools I own, and was used many years in finished carpentry. It still cut's just as accurate as the day I bought it. I see some new features on yours that I would like to have, including the sliding part, and will be purchasing the Dewalt in the future.
Hahahahaha....can't see that happening Simon 😂 Thanks for the beer too mate....very much appreciated 😁🍺 l just sent you a message. Have a good one 👍🇦🇺😁
Good to see you get a great new saw! Only thing I can say is to be sure that you verify the 45 cut! I found out the hard way! Best to ya from Texas USA! Now to send that cup of tea (or beer) to Australia!!!
Thanks Jim and l've already done that mate....spot on 👍 Always gotta check that. Hope all's well over there mate and have yourself a great weekend 👍😁🇦🇺
Nice bit of kit, for me though for that kind of money if I had it, lol, I'd go for the smaller footprint Bosch 12inch axial glide.. Each to their own and for differing reasons too. 👍🏽

Great review on a quality Mitre Daw mate & they are a pretty much best you can get with many excellent features that enables you to do many applications 🍻🇦🇺👍
Maybe l should have bought Chris's when he offloaded his......could have saved myself a few bucks 😂 Yeah it's a great saw Dirk...no doubt about it 👍 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺🍺🍺🍺
I was able to cut a 7 1/4" shelf standing up vertically! I had to lift to blade protector out of the way before placing the board though. I could not find anyone else saying the maximum until I saw you saying 6 11/16". I got significantly more. I have the 779 but I imagine the 780 will do the 7 1/4" also.
I have a relatively small shop, so what I do is angle (like it was in the box) the cutting head so it takes up less space and then slide it back when not in use, then when I use it, I slide it out on my countertop (I should prob make a drawer type pull out for it to sit on now that I think about it) set the angle I need and use it as normal. Bob’s your uncle!
I got myself the small one, but regret a bit didn't get the bigger one for a bit more. I miss the dept gauge for doing partial cuts. for the rest, I love it
After watching this video countless times I've finally found the courage to purchase this saw!!! ( upgrading from a Ryobi ) Along with many other promotions running at the moment I was able to pick the saw + stand + additional free circular saw promotion from DeWalt for $1290, Quite expensive but from what I hear it's a great bit of kit that should last the " average brain dead DIY guy like me " a life time . Again I've watched this video ( and others of yours ) numerous times Thanks for putting it together & sharing your well educated opinion. Hope all is well with you ! Fun times ahead 😌 🤛👊🤜🇬🇧

You are clearly very experienced tradie with lots of knowledge Nice one . Keep it all coming ( & the dad jokes 😂) One thing do you find connecting the saw to the stand via the dewalt brackets difficult? It's not easy that's for sure ! May be I'm just totally goofy & handling it incorrectly , I can't help but find the supplied stand brackets a nightmare to click and engage the miter stand it self, while trying desperately not to drop the saw 🤯😲 Just wondering if you've had any difficulties with this ? ...
Caution that the link in your description is to the DWS779 which has several features lacking over the DWS780 model you reviewed, such as the light guide and bevel detents.
Another great video Uncle Knackers! Agree with power Vs batteries 100%. Whilst it looks like an awesome saw with lots of features, I would be interested to hear from you in 6 months as to how many you actually use. I have a 10" non sliding compound mitre saw that does everything I want and takes up half the space. On the rare occasion I cut something wider than 120mm (saw capacity), I simply cut then flip and finish the cut. For me space is pretty important. Cheers

Great review I just bought one and you are much better than the instruction manual. Thanks very much.
My pleasure Brian! Thanks for taking the time to watch mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Great vid. For a USA viewer you are totally entertaining. Great example of a RUclipspreneur.
Hahahahaha....thanks Rob! Appreciate the comment mate 👍 Hope you're having a great weekend 👍😁🇦🇺
I have had this saw for almost a month and haven't had the time to read the manual, had no idea I got so many options available. Thx great video
No worries Henry....not many people read the Manuel mate. Thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
how to keep the rail clean and smooth? if you lubricate them, it will slide smoothly but then dust will stick to it.
Great video, searched for long before I finally ordered a good - expensive - saw. Your vid made me choose this machine and I came back to learn using it (for all it's options). Thanks for the other instructions as well. Now in doubt to order a good table saw to replace my crappy super-market-bought one 😅. Big thumbs up for your inspiration!
Thanks mate! Glad to help 👍😁🇦🇺
im ordering mine today from amazon, also because i saw this in a "shoot out " vid and then your video cemented my decision, BUT i am at a lose for the stand at this point!!! Help @@diyforknuckleheads
Loved the tip about the 49° bevel! Very useful for 7 1/2" skirting. Liking your style too cuzzo!
Thanks Max! Appreciate there feedback mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Excellent video, Uncle Knackers. I have this miter saw and love it. It is very versatile and full of great features. I hope you do more videos like this. Thank you.
Thanks for that Jim 👍 Appreciate the feedback mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Good on ya knackers!
Just bought the dewalt mitre saw based on your review
And I gotta say it's a rippa!!
Good on you and keep up your great content
Cheers mate👍
No worries at all Json! Glad you liked it mate.....it's a beast of a machine 👍😁🇦🇺
This is the best review of this saw that I have ever seen. Great job!
Thanks JT....appreciate the comment mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Lack of Dad joke compensated by smooth groove moves 👍
Hahahhahaha.....John Travolta, eat your heart out 😂 Thanks for watching Mike 👍😁🇦🇺
Thank you for this video! I have the DWS779, but it is almost identical to the 780. I now know what those pawls are for. Lol. Thanks again!!!
👍👍
Shane has got a new play toy! Awesome!
4:49... that's how long it took for the blue painter's tape to appear. I knew that painter's tape was going to be somewhere in this video. And I was right.
Enjoy the new toy Shane. Now you can do a video and show us how to maintain mitre saws. Take care my friend! ~ Louis
I agree with you u cuz! I bought my DWS-780 XE in Sydney tools about 2 months and few weeks ago and nobody knows when it will arrive 🤦🏻
A fantastic bit of kit , can’t live without it
👍👍 Thanks for watching mate.....yeah l love mine as well 👍🇦🇺😁
bought mine second hand for $150 with a blown motor. Replaced the motor for $490, and a new 80 tooth blade. Absolute magic.
Absolutely love this video, explain very clear and precise. I have a DW 718 and I never used it. This will give me an opportunity to do some pretty cool cuts. Thank you.
My pleasure Shirley! Glad you found the video useful and thanks for taking the time to watch 👍😁🇦🇺
The 12" Rigid...🤔😂....sounds interesting Tim. Go check out the reviews 👍👍
My Mrs. gave me a serious slagging when I was reading the online manual for my table saw weeks before I got it 😁
Hahahahhahaha....sounds familiar mate 😂 Love that "New Saw Smell" Thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
Great video!!! I am thinking i have seen you " dado" (grooving) dancing but what about the joke? I am thinking that over all the DeWalt saws are great!!! enjoyed watching you as always!
Cheers הראל חיים Yeah, sorry about the lack of dad joke.....just ran out of time 😢 Don't worry, it will be back 😁 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Brilliant video. I will have to make do with my second hand Evolution mitre saw but at least I know how make adjustments on it thanks to the very detailed instructions given in the video.
👍😁...Thank you very much Anthony! Glad you liked it mate....appreciate the feedback 👍😁🇦🇺
Just bought one, Sydney tools didn’t have the bonus stand in stock when the website said it did.
Love the saw, don’t know when I’ll get the stand.
G'day Lenny....got mine there as well. I had to wait a couple of weeks to get my stand...worth the wait though 👍😁🇦🇺
Thanks for watching mate....hope you're having a great weekend 😁👍🇦🇺
P.S. Your donation went toward that saw 👍
Score!!
As you were aware and still went ahead……..it’s then called theft! Don’t crow over such actions won’t help will it??

I own 2 of them . Best saw out there . The saw can really do everything. Down side is you’ll throw your back out picking it up
👍👍
I wish I bought a table saw first. The miter saw is more of a luxury. The table saw is the first tool someone should by you can do everything a miter can it's just a little more complicated.
Can you do one of these circular saw guides for the Makita LS1019?
Excellent review. Quick note: At the 2:28 mark your conversion is incorrect: 13.6 kgs amounts to 30lbs not 20!
You are correct Sam...not quite sure how l got that messed up 🤔 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
An excellent presentation of the Dewalt DWS780 and its many features. Very informative.
My pleasure Bill! Really appreciate the feedback mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Great video Knackers! Simply explained and informative, with a dash of awesome grooving! 😂.
Hahahahaha...thanks Richard....l had lessons.....not! 😂 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Built by Chris really rated the shadowline feature too. I love my Bosch Axial for the lack-of-rails but this looks like a very solid and more affordable option for those with a little more room!
I'm loving the Bosch soooo much more than the Dewalt! (Especially the newer, lower quality Dewalt here in the US.)
It breaks my heart to see Dewalt fall so far in quality these past few years.
Cheers mate...yeah the Big Fella was a bit of a fan 👍 Hey.....how's the rouge bush turkey going 😂😂
@@diyforknuckleheads so far...I am winning 🏆 Let's see what he has left... 🤔😋
@@carterscustomrods any products you can mention now? What is their competition to the dws780?

No worries at all Scott....glad you got something out of the video mate. Cheers 👍😁🇦🇺
Such a nice bit of kit that you've already stuck a piece of chewie on it at 12:24 😋😆😂
I have double bevel envy now!
Every penny well spent l reckon Barry 👍 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
My miter saw is having little use after I got a table saw. I cut long pieces with a circular saw and finish them on my table saw
Your tutorials are well done. Thank you for the useful information you provided.
No worries at all mate....thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
Hi. What is your opinion on metabo miter saw model KGS 305 M?in comparison with dewalt?
Very nice machine you have there! It sure sounds like you've read all the instructions too! Thank you Uncle Knackers!
Mike in Oregon
Hahahahaha....yeah l did have a quick glance over them Mike 👍😁 Thanks as always for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Great bit of kit mate!! It's always fun playing with a new toy!
I love it mate....such a beast of a machine! Bit of a shame to get it dirty 😂 Thanks for watching Ryano 👍👍
Cheers Shaheed 👍 I bought it only a couple of months ago so yes, it is the latest version...in Australia anyway 👍😁🇦🇺
@@diyforknuckleheads theres currently a recall. Check if you have the type 21 model. Dewalt will send you another guide.
I love the 780 well worth the money. Great all around miter saw. Upgrade the miter saw with my Kizen Mitre Fence Pro +
👍👍
Good, concise and fully comprehensive as always thanks : )
My pleasure GS 👍 Tha ks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Excellent review, I just got this saw and this video helped a lot. Thank you !
Awesome! Glad to help mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Nice review mate, I got my desalt 12” about 2 years ago and doesn’t have all the features you have….😫
As you said it is big but I like it and my one cane with a free dewalt stand with wheels.
Thanks Harki! Yeah it's a great machine mate 👍 The stand with wheels is awesome...makes life very easy 👍😁🇦🇺
I was drooling with envy when I watched how easy it makes groves as I’m in the middle of making a bench in my shed and doing all my joints and groves with my hand saws and chisels 😫
I keep thinking about one of these but I think the arm will be too long behind it to sit on my bench.
Yeah l love the grooving feature mate 👍 The arm is long which is common to a lot of sliding mitre saws. Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
We use those DeWalt saws at work. We thrash the hell out of them. They do break beyond repair every 18 months or so, but like I say, we thrash them! They are a good saw, nice and easy to use.
Yeah l reckon it would take a pizzling at your work Kuffy 👊 I'm a bit scared to get this one dirty 😂 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Good review Knackers. Looking forward to the next video. Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺
Thanks John! Just letting you know that your donation went toward buying it so thank you very much....really appreciate it. Cheers mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Cheers Steve! Yeah l'm with you mate....great tool. I feel very confident in recommending it for sure. Have a good one and thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
De Walt needs to send you something for free as I think this will lead to a big demand for this beauty! Thanks for the video & enjoy a beer! Cheers
Hahahahaha....can't see that happening Simon 😂 Thanks for the beer too mate....very much appreciated 😁🍺 l just sent you a message. Have a good one 👍🇦🇺😁
De Walt needs to improve the outrigger height adjustment the two knobs are a pain when doing production work. Thanks for the review
No worries Bryan 👍
Excellent video! Very informative. The grooving got me. Is this guy cool or what? 😁👍
Cheers mate!...Glad you found the video useful and thanks for taking the time to watch 👍😁🇦🇺
Awesome info uncle Nick! My Xmas presents this year. Saw and stand!
You'll love it Emily...hope Santa came through with the goods 👍😁🇦🇺
What about cali rating it? Easy to calibrate zero?
I see the screws to calibrate the 45.
@@diyforknuckleheads wish I had checked it out before I started using it! Oh well, wasn't a major screw up, figured it out pretty quickly!
Nice bit of kit, for me though for that kind of money if I had it, lol, I'd go for the smaller footprint Bosch 12inch axial glide..
Each to their own and for differing reasons too. 👍🏽
Yeah spot on Bill...we all have different requirements mate. Thanks as always for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
Brilliant as always!
16:24 Hi!

I use the Ridgid brand stand with wheels so my saw folds up and can be stored next to the wall out of the way or I can roll my saw around to transport it to where I need to use it.
👍👍
Great review on a quality Mitre Daw mate & they are a pretty much best you can get with many excellent features that enables you to do many applications 🍻🇦🇺👍
Maybe l should have bought Chris's when he offloaded his......could have saved myself a few bucks 😂 Yeah it's a great saw Dirk...no doubt about it 👍 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺🍺🍺🍺
A tip BEFORE making a bevel cut…adjust the upper fence out of the path of the blade. My fence now has a clean 30 degree angle 😢
Oohhhh.....esily done mate 👍
I was able to cut a 7 1/4" shelf standing up vertically! I had to lift to blade protector out of the way before placing the board though. I could not find anyone else saying the maximum until I saw you saying 6 11/16". I got significantly more. I have the 779 but I imagine the 780 will do the 7 1/4" also.
👍
I have a relatively small shop, so what I do is angle (like it was in the box) the cutting head so it takes up less space and then slide it back when not in use, then when I use it, I slide it out on my countertop (I should prob make a drawer type pull out for it to sit on now that I think about it) set the angle I need and use it as normal. Bob’s your uncle!
👍👍
I got myself the small one, but regret a bit didn't get the bigger one for a bit more.
I miss the dept gauge for doing partial cuts.
for the rest, I love it
The 10" is still a good saw Pieter 👍 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
After watching this video countless times I've finally found the courage to purchase this saw!!! ( upgrading from a Ryobi )
Along with many other promotions running at the moment I was able to pick the saw + stand + additional free circular saw promotion from DeWalt for $1290, Quite expensive but from what I hear it's a great bit of kit that should last the " average brain dead DIY guy like me " a life time .
Again I've watched this video ( and others of yours ) numerous times
Thanks for putting it together & sharing your well educated opinion.
Hope all is well with you !
Fun times ahead 😌 🤛👊🤜🇬🇧
Good luck with it Rich! It's a beast of a machine and thanks for all of those RUclips watches 👍😁🇦🇺
@@diyforknuckleheads Haha .. Thanks for not just putting the videos together but sharing your skill set, it helps people greatly with projects, ideas , techniques and how- to's . You are clearly very experienced tradie with lots of knowledge Nice one . Keep it all coming ( & the dad jokes 😂)
One thing do you find connecting the saw to the stand via the dewalt brackets difficult?
It's not easy that's for sure ! May be I'm just totally goofy & handling it incorrectly , I can't help but find the supplied stand brackets a nightmare to click and engage the miter stand it self, while trying desperately not to drop the saw 🤯😲
Just wondering if you've had any difficulties with this ? ...
@@rich-garland Mate....connecting the saw to the bench takes a bit of trial and error. Once you get the hang of it it's ok 👍

I hope so 🙏!!! Thanks 👍
Is this suitable for cutting some aluminum tubes by replacing an appropriate disc? Compliments for the excellent demonstration.
G'day Peter and yes you can insert a metal cutting blade 👍 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
@@diyforknuckleheads Thanks Guru.
Caution that the link in your description is to the DWS779 which has several features lacking over the DWS780 model you reviewed, such as the light guide and bevel detents.
Thanks for alerting me to that Oliver....not quite sure how that happened 🤔 It has now been changed 👍
few years ago I bought the DWS799 on sale for $279, change the handle and add the light from 780 for $50. It's the same saw.
👍
Another great video Uncle Knackers! Agree with power Vs batteries 100%. Whilst it looks like an awesome saw with lots of features, I would be interested to hear from you in 6 months as to how many you actually use. I have a 10" non sliding compound mitre saw that does everything I want and takes up half the space. On the rare occasion I cut something wider than 120mm (saw capacity), I simply cut then flip and finish the cut. For me space is pretty important. Cheers
Thanks Rowey.....like you l've had a non slider for many years....even though l loved it, there were times when l wish l had the extra cutting width and height. This was particularly so when l was out on site. Have a good one mate and thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
How do you compare this to Makita LS1219L?
