I rescued a female and male guinea pig 3 weeks ago and the mumma had 2 babies 2 weeks ago.They are so damn cute but mumma won't be having anymore as she is only a baby herself. I recently found your channel and have learnt so much from you all.I now have 7 piggies and love them all so much.Much love from Australia
Guinea pig birth is often a very quick thing, which astounded me when I witnessed it.
Ugh I know how this goes right now. I took in a rescue of eight, that has turned into 17 so far and counting. Four week old girls pregnant..so far three have given birth, and they did fine. It’s not always the case. They are painfully thin after they give birth at 3.5 months old. They can’t grow as they should. All the babies take everything from mom. Our number are going to climb with more babies coming..please guys check the genders of your piggies. Pet stores are notorious for getting it wrong..the family that needed m6 help started with two pigs and it quickly got out of control..babies should not be having babies.

Wonderful! As sad as it is, that she got pregnant so young, I‘m so happy they’re all healthy! I was lucky enough to walk right in on Cupcake, when she started giving birth to her five babies!
So interesting on the last baby when it came out it's little claws were capped at the ends like how horses hooves are to prevent scratching during birth. Looked a little freaky!
I love how the babies come out pre-assembled and ready to go! Looking forward to bbcam!
They look like baby rabbits with those big feet and ears! 3 little cuties. Mama looked so young, but she knew what to do. I think she was tired by the time number 3 came. Good thing you were there to help her out. Thank you for sharing.

Witnessing this in person is absolutely magical. It is so cool to watch. My girl 4 years ago gave birth unexpectedly (I had no knowledge of the pet shops not knowing enough info on piggies) and I revived 1 onf 3 and she and her mother are still with me today. Another one of the 3 we're adopted and the last one adopted by a family member. Seeing a guinea pig birth is so amazing. 😭
Even though you'd shown us the three babies at the beginning of the video that third one not breathing had me so worried! I'm so happy you were there to help him - and momma - out, Saskia!

Takes me back to when I had bought a female and it turned out she was pregnant and I was lucky enough to be able to watch the birth. I missed a day of work which displeased my mom but hey, watching the birth was more important!
How many babies? How are they now? My piggy girl is pregnant now, I'm excited but just nervous. I pray everything goes well and she has a smooth delivery 🙏

Adorable, We'll get to see them on baby cam tomorrow?! I will be on tomorrow after all. Me and my piggies made it through the hurricane 🌀and I got the power restored. My pigs were so scared when that happened. I gave them CBD but they were still scared ( they're okay now ). I was lucky, but many people here weren't so lucky. Anyway I look forward to seeing you on tomorrows live.🐹🐹

@@sandraoaks7887 Thank You. I felt so helpless because despite the CBD my pigs were still scared. The wind was roaring all the frogs and other wildlife were so loud. My pigs knew something is going on even if they don't know what it is. Luckily my laptop was fully charged so all I could think to do was play music that I saved on my hard drive to keep some sense of normality. I think that helped a little. My heart goes out to all the people who lost their homes and those without power. 🌻
I remember my mothers cousin, when she was a child and had guineapigs. One of them gave birth. Her dad yelled out “IT HAS FUR AND EVERYTHING??” 😂
It amazes me how the Guinea Pig babies come out ready to go. Most of the small pet babies aren't born with all their fur and eyes opened and able to run and eat solid foods aside of nursing. It's just amazing. They're so darling. 💗

She’s got a little twin there it looks like. They’re all so cute and the fact that they’re standing and walking within minutes of being born is amazing. I know it’s because they’re prey animals and it’s for their survival but it’s still fascinatingly awesome! Congrats to you, mommy pig and baby piggies that everyone is healthy and doing well! ☺️💕
I don't think it has to do with being prey animals, that they are born fully furred and ready to run. The pups can also eat solid food the minute they are born. If you look at other members of the rodent family? Such as mice and rats? They are prey animals, but are born hairless and not able to run the minute they are born. Mod Karalee
My Guinea pig just had 3 pups! I was literally SHAKING from fear & excitement. I was worried I'd sleep through her birthing but no! 🤩🤩😳 they're all so cute! Ones white, the black one looks like mom & the other like dad! So cute!

Like how you showed you helping the baby breathe. My guinea pigs about 2 years old and is most likely having her first litter, she's pretty far along I think, so we're preparing for her litter.

@@CocoBabe777 my first one had a smooth birth but later died (not due to birthing issues), turns out another of mine was pregnant and only had one which didn't make it but the mom was okay. The other litter all survived though. But if you have a litter of more than one they'll most likely be okay
@@Myloux I think there's 2 babies, she she lives with her 2 sisters in the same cage. I'm planning on keeping them together if they're all girls.

These precious fur babies are such good pets to have and love. It's a shame that human beings can't be kinder and give them the proper care that they need. I have 2 females they are my babies so spoiled but I wouldn't have it any other way. I have hamsters and they are loved and spoiled to.. Those babies are huge in relation to her body size.
She was so diligent in her care for the first two and then seemed to not care much about the third. Is that normal?
I do believe that it’s because they are getting pregnant way to young and seams like some of them that are born last the mother has to be so tired and wore out and the last little one needs to get it’s air and and there is still a layer that is needed to cleared out of the noise and mouth so it can get enuff air so I doesn’t struggle breathing im so happy that they all lived and are healthy , i don’t remember if i had told Saskia about the one RUclips video of a pregnant mom that was hard time with giving birth it was like 5 or 6 and one right after the outer, and before she could finish the next one was born and started to clean the next one that is when the guy picked up the one and used the thing that sucks out the mucus saved the baby guinea pigs life

out easy one video i seen were the people that were raising them had put the mother that had just given birth about a day old layed a pall of grass out side on the grond right out in the wide open space and babies were cuddled up to mom side i see that she was in a panic can’t get her babies to safety the pile of grass has gaps that the babies can fall through and the oner can’t figure out why the mother is acting the way she is because it’s billit in the mother eagle, Hulk and Predators on the ground was making her go crazy so the her babies was scared to so the perfect was picking babies up trying to get them to nurse from a panicked attack mom started to push them away, had they learned about pray animals they would have known not to put a mother out side in the open with her babies , or put a hide over her she could bring down her heart beat down and doesn’t have a Stroke or even a Heart attack sorry about the long comment

@@hollycondict7920. I found that if the Mumma knows a pup will not survive? Her instincts kick in to look after the 'healthier' pups. A lot of the animals in the world are like that. They concentrate more on the healthier members. With Guinea Pigs? It also could be due to the Mumma having only 2 teats. So bigger litters have to 'fight' to get their fair share of Mumma's milk. If a pup doesn't 'fight' to get their share of milk? They 'fail to thrive' (starve to death). Mod Karalee

Yes….just had to deliver a baby piggie myself and get the membrane off and breathing! It’s scary.
Our Sarah and Tiffany are 3 now. That should be old enough? It's only the two of them, sisters, so we are either getting 2 more young ones or we are getting 1 male and then we have him fixed after birth.
