There are so many African stories that need to told: queer ones, coming of age, finding oneself in your 80s, dealing with death. Its so sad that the stories being told on South Africa on netflix are still about women in distress who need a man to complete them- or some variation of that. Its 2024 my gosh!
Dude you literally just outed yourself. Clearly you have been a participant in the gay agenda. I beg you please speak for yourself, and stop trying to shove those alternative activities down everyone's throat. It's bad enough to have to see these African women, parading around with terrible weaves and wigs on their head.
If we actually paid attention, there is some shows/movies with these exact aforementioned themes. There is literally "Blood and Water", "Miseducation", "Classified" and others that are coming of age shows . It's weird that people don't even realise this because their eyes are only fixated on the romcoms. Plus this is a spin-off of an old movie that is loved by many people. It's not something that was just made out of nowhere. Maybe they need to stop milking it, lol? We also had that horror movie called "8", also known as "The Soul Collector", and you can check out the trailer right here on RUclips. There was another one called "Office Invasion". Oh, and a nice horror series called "Dead Places" right here on Netflix but people do not know of these productions. 🙂 However, variety is important and I would like more horror, fantasy and sci-fi produced in South Africa. I don't know but that's my preference. I like cheesy romcoms too and a bit of soap operas but oh well. There is another recent series on Prime Video, and it's called "In Your Dreams" which has Jesse Suntele as part of the cast - the guy who played Phila in Savage Beauty. Go check them out! :) ❤
If they were in the ghettos you would be complaining about the poverty porn as well. You people are just always complaining and can never be satisfied with anything.
You people can never be satisfied with anything. You're literally always complaining. Luxury aesthetics are now a problem too? If they put them in the ghettos you would still talk about how you're tired of the poverty porn and stereotypes of poor Africans. Seriously??? What is it that can actually please you???
I like the look and the setting. Seems like the type of story everyone all over the world is telling these days. It’s a safe bet it’ll find a ready made audience worldwide but I have to agree with others South African movies and shows could do with some variety. Where are the thrillers, sci fi, horror? Perhaps as another commenter mentioned LGBTQIA+, coming of age or a setting where the characters are not so well off but still fun and interesting? SA is a beautiful country it’d be nice to see more of it.

Ugh Netflix and these tired and played out tropes. Surely SA female characters have other stories to tell in 2024? Just telling the saaaame story and giving it a different title. We have left the 90’s!
Does South Africa have a shortage of actors ?? Why Netflix always giving these people shows. They boring. So many good actors in the Eastern cape and KZN they could’ve used who are not overly exposed like these people

Same as American at times. They only see one view of us 😩

I've seen this in South African movies soo many times 😢
It's tedious
I love this, and will never get tired of seeing the beautiful Renate Stuurman on my screen 😍
Gail Mabalane is booked and busy on Netflix yoh!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lmao at this point it feels like more than half the projects Netflix does in SA have Gail Mabalane in them 😂😂
Renate & her dimples 😍
The leading lady has the prettiest dimples I've ever seen. I've always enjoyed watching her, since Isidingo.
Totally here for more SA entertainment 👏🏾🇯🇲👏🏾🇯🇲
I miss the original cast. Where is Mmabatho and Khanyi? What about the original men cast? They only kept Princess and Leo.
Please tell me the name of the original movie?

Thank you Sibusiso.

Ain't no way these people were able to squeeze a part 3 out of the storyline.
Luxury aesthetics, good looking people and the same tired storyline. I'm over SA productions. I'll miss this one.
💬 same equation I came 2~

This one is a spinoff, not even a sequel
What was the original show or movie please?
@@Denise-vq8ym Happiness is a Four Letter Word
We are still going to watch it.
What happened to the other girls?
My question too
They are gone that’s how it works in the industry not everyone comes back! Whoever is available and wants to film commits! 😂😂😂
@MayaDTV it's a shame ,I wonder how Hollywood does it to keep their casts in tact for years

I agreee
I loved the first movie. ❤
Well i enjoyed this movie...
Playing it safe with storylines "lets do something that previously worked." lol.
South African Netflix productions have the same faces. It’s off putting, unearth new talent or give others a chance.
Yhoo ayibhori ayibhori ayibhori nkos yam, everything about it felt so faked, unbelievable, and childish😩
Parece que es la continuación de la película Happiness ever after
I just want to find the soundtrack list
I love this 🎉
Yesss
what happened to Khanyi
She's recovering from her surgery in Dubi
