This is why we're so upset as fans today. Because this... this is our legacy. This is who we were, who we were raised with. Classy, hard working, selfless teammates. It really doesn't get any better than this team.
@@chrisbentley8997 oof... yeah... that's rough. I'm sorry.
I get it man greetings from Buffalo New York
Amen brother
I was 12 the Last time they won it crazy now we're the laughing stock of the league
Always Redskin¡¡¡
So im watching this in 2025 and we in the playoffs im praying for our team 🙏💪
I'm praying with you 🙏 ❤️
NFC Championship!!
Bout to do it again
I AM A DIE HARD WASHINGTON REDSKINS FAN SINCE THE '60S AND A NATIVE AMERICAN APACHE INDIAN .... THIS IS A TEAM THAT GAVE MORE THAN A 100% .... THE BEST FANS THE CHEERS THE TEARS THE BAND AND THE CHANT ..... " HAIL TO THE REDSKINS "
You're not Apache. If you were, you wouldn't have mentioned it the way you did. You're a white Republican.
How great has this year been my friend? I haven't had a lot to smile about in the last year but this team has given us all some incredible moments that remind us of the glory days. Even if they lose tonight this season has been a massive success. The best is yet to come, Hail to the Redskins!!
Need to change their name back to the REDSKINS!!
Hope lives in Washington once again...
This is the team that made me a fan.
Me too!!
Been suffering since 1992.
@@jfalconredskinshey!! 14 mins ago! I hope yall win!
@@jfalconredskins Two years ago I left that comment and look at us now... New owner, AP, DQ and JD5. About to play for a chance to go to the NFC Championship. LETS GO!!!!
I first saw the Washington Redskins on Channel 4 in 1984 here in Scotland, I just fell in love with the Burgundy/White & Gold and I was allowed to stay up till 3am in 1988 as a 14 yr old boy, I got to watch the greatest 15 minutes ever in NFL History and then the 91/92 team came along, what a team and even till now, my love for the Washington Redskins will always be there despite the state of the organisation under Snyder, so, the 2nd of Feb 2022 will be the day my mind will be made up if I want to follow the "New" team depending on it's name.
My greatest moment was getting to see the 'Skins play the Bengals at Wembley in London, a lifetime dream achieved.
This post is awesome! A fan from Scotland, seen the play in London!! Hail Victory!
I'm now 45, and I was so lucky to get to experience watching my team win the Super Bowl in '87 and '91. I can only hope, in the future, that my son gets to experience a similar love and passion that I had following this team as a kid.
As long as Snyder is around, that will never happen
That is a great thing for you to whish for, Buddy. But I am sorry to say.... It won't ever happen. Not in our lifetimes.... unless we can find a way to get rid of the circus-clown that runs this pathetic organization. I'm 51, and I got to see 82/87/and 91. I got to see the entire era. So sad to see what this garbage organization has turned into.
The team is not around
Well said!!
Your kid will never get the chance to be a Redskins fan, so that's highly unlikely
Joe Gibbs saying, "I can't let them [fans] down." Literally a sentence never once thought of by our pathetic disgrace of an owner who's let us down for 20+ years. Comment by Gary Clark about Joe Gibbs: "You wanted to win FOR him." Literally a sentence never once said about our pathetic disgrace of an owner.
Btw, can't the official team at least afford to license some of this background music to avoid the pop-up ads? Lol. Bush league.
Standby to be let down again on 2/2/2022. Why else pimp the nostalgia so hard right now?
The Daniel Snyder nightmare is finally over! New ownership took over few days ago (8/26/23 is today's date)
"pathetic disgrace of an owner". whatever. aren't you being a bit too kind?
Hands down….the single greatest season. The Redskins were as unstoppable as it could get that season. As a lifelong fan, it was a magical season.
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS. Bring back that winning spirit, and bring back the name! Go Skins!
HTTR
HTTR! GO SKINS!

Cowboys fan here but I do miss the name
HailYeah!
pains me how far we've fallen from these days
Made me want to tear up
I did tear up
how about now boys
It only makes the climb more glorious
@@whiterabbit6575how are you feeling now? Even if Detroit wins by 20 this has been an incredible season
This is a painful reminder of just how bad this franchise has become. To think it's been 30 years is heartbreaking. As a fan for 40+ years, I'm embarrassed.
It is painful, but how do you think Jets fans feel? They have to go all the way back to Broadway Joe, Don Maynard and Weeb Ewbank coaching the team.
Nostalgia won't save them if they refused to listen to fans about the new name.
@@Surftiva yeah but who wants to use the Jet's as the benchmark. Btw, even the Jet's won a championship game at least in the last 30 years.
@@PawleyWalnuts You're right. I knew you would probably write back and say that and it's true. lol
BTW , I was AT the "Seat Cushion" Game with Atlanta and chanted "JEERRRRYY" repeatedly with the Rest of the Stadium !!....and flung my Cushion onto the Field along with Thousands of other Fans !!
I was also at the NFC Title Game with Detroit......IT WAS GREAT !!!!!
The Detroit QB's "Mom" , was seated in our Section , she left early.....ha ha .
I’m 26 years old man I wish I could have been a part for history Hail To The Redskins
Don't give up. We'll be great again.
same here brotha. Sadly, it will only happen once Mr. Snyder is out of town... hopefully soon.
I'm 39 and this is the first season I can remember sitting and watching all the games with my dad.... I thought to myself, this is great, we always win! Boy have I been wrong for the past 30 years.
Football team
It was a lot of fun, Brother! A TON of fun. It's a real shame you younger guys couldn't have been there to see what we once were. This is now the most pathetic organization in all of Pro Sports - by a mile and a half. I am truly sorry you and your generation have never gotten the opportunity to see what we used to be.
Here’s why this is the greatest team ever.
* Broke the record for pt differential in the SB era
* Still #6 all-time (#3 SB era, ‘07 Pats, ‘99 Rams) (Others are ‘42 Bears, ‘61 Oilers, ‘62 Pack)
* Won reg seas by 16 pt/gm (avg 30-14)
* Won playoffs by 20 pt/gm (avg 34-14)
* Woulda been 25 pt/gm if they didn’t allow 2 TDs to Buffalo while celebrating, up 37-10 (woulda avg 34-9). Throw in Monk’s TD (reversed by inches), it’s 27 pts, and that’s what the games were played like. All finished by mid 3rd qtr.
* All this while 8 of 16 games were against playoff or 10-win teams
* Dominated 6 playoff teams, 7 10-win teams, 8-1 vs playoff teams, 9-2 against 10-win teams (about same avg scores)
* Included ‘91 Eagles, beat them 23-0, an all-time great D (Buddy Ryan, Reggie White)
* 5 pts from undefeated, Cowboys threw the kitchen sink knowing it was their only chance. Risky 4th downs, fake punts, long bombs, onside at half, etc, pulled it out by 3. Then Eagles by 2 last gm w starters benched. Started 11-0.
* 3 shutouts in first 6 games
* #1 Offense, #2 D, 13 pts from #1, when they rarely had starters in 4th qtrs
* Scored 30+ 8 games, 40+ 4x, 50+ 1x
* Only got sacked 9 times all year (2 in last game w no starters, 2 cheapies, really 5.)
* Never trailed in playoffs (last team to do that)
* Beat SB winner from yr before and yr after
* Bills called this the best team they faced
* The NFC 13-yr reign produced some of the great teams of all time: ‘84 & ‘89 49ers, ‘85 Bears, ‘86 Giants, ‘92 Cowboys, ‘96 Packers, ‘91 Redskins. Skins scored more than any of these teams, and allowed less than any of them but the ‘85 Bears. Against this stiff competition!
This 🔥
91 Skins: "We're the best team ever!"
'89 Niners: "Hold My Lombardi..."
AGREE. CHARLIE EAKINS
The 1989 49ers are. Period!
My senior year of high school, knowing I was going to boot camp after graduation. To have that season be the last one where I would watch every game with my father and for it to be that special. Oh how magical it was. I remember XVII and XXII as clear as day, but XXVI.... thinking about that season still gives me goosebumps. Best team in Washington sports history by a landslide. Best single season TEAM in NFL history for that matter!
One of the best. I am a packers fan and the 96 packers were just as dominant that year as the redskins of 91. Even the 62 packers were extremely dominant that year
When a football team can bring a city together it means something! #HAILTOTHEREDSKINS
Love this team!! Miss it! Nice to hear the players and coaches say Redskins.
Yeah. I don’t have a problem with them changing the name, but intentionally refusing to say/write the old name when speaking of the old teams…that’s just stupid.
We're coming back to this...
Man I love Joe Gibbs...such an awesome guy. I miss those days of having the utmost confidence that your coach will figure it out and win!
Best coach ever
Been a fan since 1967. Our family had season tickets up till 2002. Went to almost every home game at RFK stadium with my dad till 1976. Was at super bowl 17. I feel sad for the generations of fans that have never experienced the magic of the Washington Redskins
I'm a proud Pittsburgh Steelers fan, but this is the most underrated team in NFL history bar none. Why isn't Wilbur Marshall in the Hall of Fame?
At 31 years of age, I didn't think I would still be waiting on a 4th Superbowl 32 years later. I thought we would have had 3 or 4 more superbowls the way were going.
I'm 69, and I love this video. Brings back so many wonderful memories. Tears of pride and joy for my Redskins. HTTR
This is so much more enjoyable to watch with the promise of new ownership, management, coaches bringing a winning approach for the players.
I remember watching the Redskins vs the Broncos Super Bowl and that lit something in me, but in 1991-1992 season I was 14 in middle school and that was the most magical year because I finally understood what love and passion meant because that’s what I felt watching every game I could that season on tv being from upstate NY. I’ve made it to fed ex field once for fan appreciation day when I was stationed with my wife in Norfolk. I remember when my family got our first computer and I signed up for season tickets and then many many years later I finally got a letter from the redskins while on deployment in support of operation enduring freedom. That letter said I finally got my season tickets, one of the best days of my life. I was never able to purchase more than that one season and not able to attend a game that year because I was stationed in San Diego, the redskins happily told me that they would hold my position on my tickets until I was discharged from my military service. I thank they so much for that. I am now disabled due to my service and can no longer afford the season ticket because my only income is my military disability. This video mean so much to me thank you HTTR R.I.P 21 🇺🇸
🙏🏾❤💯 #HTTR 4LIFE
Lol.
Thank you for your service bro.
@@DarrylBarnes hank you Brother! ITs feeling like 1991 all over again! HAIL

Saw the RFK stands rocking and just brought tears to my eyes, went to both playoff games at RFK that year the"Seat Cushion" demolish of the Falcons and destroying Barry Sanders and the Lions. Destiny, sad its been 30 years, the love, respect and player to fan base is basically gone.....One guy did that Synder, until he goes we are doomed!!!!
I am 20. It breaks my heart that all I’ve known this team for is mediocrity.
Well the day has come, DANNY BOY IS LEAVING!!
Joe Gibbs winning 3 Super Bowls with 3 different QB's is the most impressive thing in NFL history ever.
I still have that superbowl on vhs 😢
People sometimes forget that the NFC East was the powerhouse of the NFL. Giants won the SB the year before, Cowboys would win the next two, and the Eagles were a tough competitor during those years. Makes the success of this team even more impressive.
The Owner, The Coach, The Posse, The Hogs, National Defense and that team was simply amazing!
As a Viking fan I miss this team✌💜
As Packers fan this great documentary
Lifelong Redskins fan since the late 70s. Growing up it was such a great feeling as a fan in that city. Such a great energy in the air that I’ll never forget. I never gave up during the dark times and now in 2025 after 30 long years I finally have real hope that we are on our way back to being a great franchise. New ownership new GM new coaches and franchise QB. The foundation has been set. I would love to put a new stadium back in DC and bring the Redskins name and logo back. Redskins forever!
I was 10 and it was amazing! Watching games with my Dad. I went to the DC parade too after the SB win. Great time.
The Patriots Dynasty was something else to witness during my childhood (born ‘96). But winning 3 super bowls with 3 different Quarterbacks will most likely never be duplicated.
Green Bay? Rodgers , Favre and Starr
Also the Giants manning, simms and hostetler
@@DaveTookOver that has nothing to do with this comment, neither of those franchises won 3 Superbowls with 3 different qbs in a 10 year span..
@@KBarron43 well now you are adding 10 year span. That wasn’t mentioned in the original comment.
@ my guy, if you watched the video you would’ve understood. Regardless none of those teams you mentioned will top the Redskins Dynasty lol
As a die hard Raider fan of 40 years, I've always had a respect from afar for the Skins. Too bad our franchises havent been relevant for 30 plus years. Hopefully we will both get their again, it seems this new regime in Washington has them on the right track now. Unfortunately Mark Davis isnt selling anytime soon
Aw man, I remember the Redskins, what an awesome era for DC. The Defenders and the Commanders will never even come close to capturing that.
I attended Art Monks football camp in 88. An amazing athlete and gentleman, like many others on that team. Joe Gibbs knew how to coach in all facets of the process. Golden Era in Washington Football.
I remember being an O Lineman in HS/JC and loved watching the Redskins O Line. My favorite, who should be in the HOF was Jim Lachey 79!!!!!
English Washington fan amazing video
BEST TEAM EVER!!
We'll be back
I cannot lie I miss them days I also missed the Hogs and Joe Gibbs that team was one of the best
Gary Clark was and still is my all time favorite football player!!
He's a great guy, too!
Being English and support washington over 40 years and watching this video reminding how great this franchise was, but I see light end of the tunnel now with ron riviera just need a great QB and I will be back up there as a top team
Jayden Daniels will restore this franchise to its former GLORY ! HTTR/HTTC FOREVER !
The woke brigade think they've taken the Redskins away, but videos like this keep the name and our memories alive. We will always be the Redskins !
This the content I need
My Favorite Team And made me Love Football and Always Remember watching this season and Super Bowl with my Dad. He was a Die Hard Redskins Fan. And made me one. My 2 Favorite players Art Monk and Darrel Green. Miss the Glory Days. And hate we Changed the Name. Hail To The Redskins!!!!!!
Go Redskins
Hey, old guys! Time to look to the future, it's gonna be bright, I truly believe that in my heart 💯
When you look at the stats this teams defense was on par with the famed 85 Bears 46 defense. This team is ALWAYS overlooked when it comes to the conversation of best teams.
This is probably the greatest team in nfl history
It's hard saying with rypien as qb
🔥
Things are sure different these days. I was born in Washington D.C. end of 1955. The Redskins, and Washington Senators were just a part of daily life. The Senators left for Texas. The Redskins stayed, and made us all proud! Strange didn't know them personally. But, somehow we all were still a small part of it all. Even when I moved from Washington I remained a big time Redskin fan.
The Washington Commanders playing in Maryland ain't rocking ole RFK STADIUM IN THE DISTRICT. And, the owner...
Fine memories though.
I arrived in Virginia from Europe in the summer of 1982 and soon enough, I learned about the NFL and the Redskins. I was lucky to follow and love the team during the Joe Gibbs era. In fact, I met Joe and his sons in a restaurant in Williamsburg where JD was attending William & Mary. I worked in that restaurant and Joe would come often in the off-season to visit. he was still the coach of the Redskins, so he probably never attended any college games. It is so sad that both of his sons (JD and Coy) died so young in the their late 40s.
Yet I have so much respect for the man and the teams he built over the years. The Redskins of that era was a dynasty. I am still a big fan of the team and hoping that this kid Jayden will lead us to the Super Bowl this coming Sunday against the Eagles.
My dad is 49 and his first ever game he watched was the Super Bowl against the raiders when they lost and has been a fan of them ever since and now I am too
I was a Washington Redskins fan for many years, since 1981, but the spirit of that team, of that institution, no longer exists. All teams, throughout history, have successful cycles and mediocre periods, but what has happened with Washington goes much further. They have taken the soul from that institution and turned it into something else entirely, something that neither attracts me nor interests me.
I was at the Falcon playoff game that year. It was a blowout! I remember throwing my yellow cushion from the upper stands of RFK and watching it land on the 20-yard line. I was 13 years old. It's probably my favorite childhood memory.
I love the Washington Redskins/Commanders!!! My first love!! This team was fun to watch!! They dominated the league that year!!
What made that Redskins' teams so special for me was we, the fans, knew all of the player's names, and the coaches' names also. So it WAS like family. And I was at that "seat cushion' game and it was the most fun I have ever had at any game (I kept my seat cushion and proudly displayed it on my wall for years.
It was so much fun to be a fan of our team back then.
We can get it all back TOGETHER. There can't be a split between the fans, media and the team. Either your in or out...Let's reload the bandwagon and return to glory. It's just that simple...winning cures all ails. Salute to the Commander Kingdom!
Greatest team ever
Stumbled across this video for the first time while being retired in the Philippines.
Lived all my life in N. Virginia and had been a 'Skins fan when they went to the SB in '72.
The '91-'92 Skins were incredible... and then free agency came along. It was really sad to see players from this team go elsewhere.
We will be back, keep the faith....
I've been a fan since I was 8. Everyone here seems to be mourning the past instead of realizing the power players that are already on the team. The guys we have now are special, they just need that next level of encouragement. If you want to change the culture, that's how you do it. Nature vs Nurture dictates the coaching staff is like a team of surrogate parents. We all know it's not forever, but it's the little things that add up to a mass amount. It boils down to if you think the issues can be correctable or not. The war was lost for want of a horseshoe, so work out the kinks. It's not just about records, or playoffs - I look at each game, each player individually. If you have players with big flashes and issues to work out - you work them out. It's that simple. Leaders aren't born, they're developed - some just develop themselves, others need more focus because they didn't have the same opportunities that others had. But anyone can be trained to be a master with the right focus. I'm sick and tired of the attitudes of people, especially fans, these days. It's time to change the mental game first and foremost, everything else flows from there. As long as players have a heart to play, then the rest is history.
Hail to the Washington Redskins!!!
Year of the "Scab" in regards too the Redskins I remember the most.
That 91 Redskins team is criminally underrated. They didn't have the biggest names, but they just had zero weaknesses.
What great memories! HTTR! What a place to watch a game RFK Stadium. Wow.
Pues yo sigo siendo fan de los REDSKINS!!!
Saludos desde el Bajío Mexicano
The greatest Redskins season ever! I was 19 years old and it makes me tear up just thinking about how fun it was. Makes me sad that the team is such a joke now. I am dreading the name reveal next week. If it’s any of the names I’ve heard it will be embarrassing. Hail to Joe Gibbs! Hail to Mark Rypien! Hail to Darrell Green! Hail to the Redskins!!!🏈
Go Redskins
Who is here in 2025, while we are getting ready for the Wild Card round?
Snyder is gone, time is now
I was so privileged to have seen and watched all three Super Bowls. Now in my 40s, I seriously doubt this organization will ever return to this level of reputation and play. I thought we'd go to the Super Bowl every year, and I regret taking '91 for granted. I was a senior in high school and most of the games I just assumed we'd win. We did for the most part, but a lot of them I didn't watch all the way through, I was more interested in girls. I should've savored it more. I should've appreciated it more. I took all of it for granted. I miss that team and those days. Its just so painful to watch them now, and it doesn't even hurt when they lose, it's more surprising that they win actually. Godspeed to the '91 team!
Washington Redskins… what an unbelievable 1991 season🎉 HTTR🏆🏆🏆
I was 8 years old enough to remember this I'm greatful for that
For these men, nothing was unfullfilled. There were no insignificant roles. They weren't a combat unit, but they could have been. It was a great time to be a fan.
Why did our team get cursed, we have NEVER been the same since that spectacular season. This was a proud and winning organization that was nearly ran out of the NFL, I just don’t understand it!!!
We're back!
Snyder
The Team can reach this Level again if we can just remove Snyder.
He needs to go man.
Hell yeah!! D. Snyder selling the team. A new renaissance will begin!! Hail to the Redskins!!
Team looking bright so far with Jayden Daniels at QB, all that's missing is giving them back the Redskins name.
Redskins for life... This is our legacy. This is what our team was built on 💪🏽
A very underrated superbowl winning team that had balance on both sides of the ball.
They had three straight home game shutouts to start the season.
I remember those years 🥺
HTTR4EVER!!
My first year watching the superbowl was the 82 championship year. Yeah that next season was quite a letdown for 6 y/o me, but my childhood was filled with excellence between the 80s and early 90s. If I knew then that it would be all downhill from there I would have chosen another team probably lol
I missed all the glory years due to my age but I was still a fan through all the bad. We need to go ahead and bring this iconic team back.
Native Americans who don’t sit around complaining about everything were fans of this team. I know it from first hand experience.
My uncle Danny Copeland played for Redskins and I met all these guys went too Charles Mann house love it.
We have to get that back that fire that passion!!!💥💥
91 skins were a juggernaut. No one was stopping them that year. Poor Buffalo 💩
All talk
When to showed the metro it made me slight teary because I use it every day
I remember watching the 91 redskins win the Superbowl that year and been a fan ever since
Watching this brings a tear to my eye because it reminds me what a group of people with a common goal can accomplish. What’s happened to us?
A great example of how the team ethic worked in D.c. was Gerald Riggs . He had been an all star all-pro featured back in Atlanta . He accepted a short yardage role in The offence and scored a bunch of goal line TDs. Think he retired after that season, the skins missed him.
I think everyone misses John Riggins more he was the real deal hogs line. Also due respect to Larry Brown MVP for 1972
Excellent post thanks for the update ❤revisted May 8 2024 ❤❤❤❤❤❤Dobie Wan Kanobie ❤❤❤❤❤❤
This video was BEAUTIFULLY done. Took me back to my childhood when the name "Washington Redskins" held so much prestigious integrity and honor. Loved seeing my football HEROS of yesteryear speak & reflect on moments in time that they all left their fingerprint on. Back when DC was DC and all us REDSKIN fans would walk with our head held high. I can still hear the voice of Frank Herzog from my memory saying "TOUCHDOWN, Washington Redskins!" I love my city, and will 4ever love my TEAM! Hail To The REDSKINS, Hail Victory, Braves on the Warpath....FIGHT 4 ole DC! ❤🤞🏾💪🏾💯
It's so sad to see this team today , but I'm a lifelong fan til the end ,I will always be a redskins fan
We need the glory days back we need this mentality back.
I was at that Atlanta game, it was a great memory.
I believe that was the early 90s even definitely the best coach they ever had and I’ll agree. They were one of the best franchises Redskins.
This fire even as Packers fan
As a Washington Redskins fan i would love to see the Redskins go back to that style of dominance.
Thank goodness Snyder left.
Free agency was designed to prevent such dominance.
Nostalgic even as heartbroken Packers fan lol
I’m 23 years old . I’m trying to know what that feels like 💀
2023 is the first time I’ve been excited since RG3 rookie season ❤️💛
I'm a 40 yr. old, die-hard fan. My middle school team colors were the same (Burgundy/Gold). I LOVE the Skins' history, and I was alive during ALL the championships. I will Never root for another team, even if the current owner can't stay out of the way...and Coach Joe Gibbs...Literally one of the Best Coaches of ALL TIME! HAIL!
This is history of our franchise...I have nothing bad to say but we need to win now...I remember all of the 90's and a little of the 80's I had the opportunity to experience seeing two superbowls...I need dat back ASAP...
Times like these will never happen again the 80s won’t ever happen again and that’s the sad part to me
I'll always think that Brad Edwards should have been the MVP of that game. And while they're no longer called the Redskins (sorry but I refuse to use the new name), I'm so happy for the kids who are too young to have seen what we saw, to be able to see a winner again in Washington. Hail to the Redskins!!!
