Although I am a Yankee fan the way Cal Ripkin Jr honored Lou Gehrig the day Cal broke his streak record was in such good taste and memory of Lou made me proud
Manning's retirement speech was the best. Always had a lot of respect for him. It may have been painful to watch him lumber along (I am slower than molasses but could probably beat him in a 40) and he may have had a "wet noodle" arm but he brought a level of intellect to the game that was amazing to watch. My friend surprised me with tickets to his first game in Indy as a Bronco. It was her first time at an NFL game and while i have been to many, it was my first time at a game of that caliber. It was so loud in the stadium when he received a standing ovation my ears rang for 3 days. He always appeared rather stoic but that night you could clearly see he was choked up and appreciated the fan's response.
Kerri Strug sticking the landing with two snapped tendons in her ankle to win gold in the 1992 Olympics in Atlanta. Still gives me pride and chills to this day.
J. H yes, michael waltrip was in first, jr in second, and sr was in 3rd on the last lap, dale tried to block sterling marlin on the inside and they made contact, sending sr up the track head on into the wall where he died, kevin harvick filled the seat of the 3, but in the newly retired (until 2014) 3 car out of respect for dale sr, and in harvicks 3rd race, he won, and when they went back to daytona that july, dale srs son, jr, won, using moves his father would’ve used, such an emotional story
I still cry when I see Mohammed Ali lighting the torch at the 1996 Olympic games in Atlanta. The man was so much more than sports. He transcended sports and politics as he went around the world to fight. I think only a select few even knew he was the one to light the torch. So when he came out, the reaction from Bob Costas was absolutely genuine. The choices you made for this list are great. Yet, I just think this one needed to be included.

After Dale Earnhardt's death, there were 3 quite emotional wins later in 2001: 1. The week after the Daytona 500 when Steve Park, driving a car owned by Dale, won at Rockingham 2. 3 weeks after the 500, when Kevin Harvick, who took over in Dale's car (renumbered to 29 and recolored white), won at Atlanta in a photofinish (same way Dale won the same race the previous year) 3. Dale Jr winning the Pepsi 400 at Daytona that July
Dale Jr's win at Daytona in the Pepsi 400 with Michael Waltrip coming in 2nd, the reverse order in which they finished in the 500, is still one of the most emotional moments in Nascar history in my opinion. David Wright walking off for the last time. I'm not a New York fan, but having watched him for several years, that brought tears to my eyes.

mariano rivera coming off the mound for the last time
David Ortiz speech after the Boston marathon bombings as well as the playoffs that year and the parade after winning the World Series. The trophy and the jersey at the finish line was something to never forget
In clip 1:42, I find the team having the best members. They deserve to be the winning team because they really did their best to win the game.

I have so many sports moments
we not gonna talk about how soothing Justin's voice is?
Not sure if anyone else said, but Thurman Munson dying and Bobby Mercer's follow up game.
How was the Miracle On Ice not on this list? Maybe the greatest sports moment ever.
You talking about that hockey shit?
Paul Pierce’s final shot at the TD. He’s forever a Celtic.
John McDonald's home run on Father's Day after his dad passed. Truly a touching moment.
My God. When the Cubs won the the World Series my friend and I ran out to the streets and cried. What a moment.
It was actually the 2001 Daytona 500 that Dale Earnhardt passed away.
Yeah that or the 2001 Pepsi 400!
Man you see the crash an it doesn’t look as horrible as some I’ve seen before. But if their going at a speed of over a 100mph an then slam into a wall at that speed. Heartbreaking for his family to be there an to witness that! 😢 An am I right in thinking that JR was also racing in that race that day? Not an big race follower but use to watch with my husband on the weekends when he did his online racing game.
Carrie Ogdon Dayton is a super speedway (2 1/2 miles track). He was going appropriately 180mph according to reports.
Carrie Ogdon Jr. was in 2nd Sr. Did I block so his best friend a son (who are teammates) could battle for first
@@jcbogdon Waltrip won that race with Earnhardt Jr finishing second (those two cars were owned by Earnhardt Sr) If you want to see an emotional win when they returned to Daytona for the summer race (Pepsi 400) it was won won by JR and Waltrip in second. Waltrip had nothing to celebrate after the Daytona 500 so they both celebrated there 1-2 Finish paying respect to the late SR in July.

What made me cry was the time the Cleveland Sports Drought ended when the Cavs won the NBA Championship for the first time ever and the 2012 Baltimore Ravens season
I agree Simarbir. That was a really great moment.
that superbowl with the ravens is easily a top 10 superbowl. such a great game.
It was especially emotional for me because my grandfather got to see them (the Ravens) win one the month before he died of pancreatic cancer.
Simarbir Gill both were against bay area sports team
growing up as a Andrew Agassi fan, his final words at the US Open in 2006 gave me tears.
Thank you for such a beautiful video. Your voice is beautiful too.
The softball player who tore her acl after hitting a HR & the opposing team had to carry her around the bases...
I liked when Rudy finally played for Notre Dame and when Roy Hobbes hit the game winner for the New York Knights. I also loved it when Jimmy hit the final basketball to make Hickory the Indiana High School State Champs.
Yes! That was one of the best. Mallory Holtman and Liz Wallace were the names of the opposing players who carried her. Here's the story. ruclips.net/video/xVlKtI7yd_s/видео.html
