Have the original lp of the land of grey and pink .I hope when I pass on, someone will discover this in the midst of my various belongings and appreciate what they have found.
They really enjoy playing their music, you can see how they smile. Greetings from a 25 yo italian fan
Still listening to both Caravan and Camel regularly - live in the 1970’s at Fairfield Halls, Croydon many times. Real musical influencers my entire life - and 'if I could do it al over again .......’ :)
Oh yes and Steve/John Hackett and their mum June ....who I used to work with at Mercury Comms... ended up in the bar with them, one weird Sunday night.
Absolutely wonderful. I so miss the quality of musicianship guys like these offer. Contemporary bands: please look, listen and learn from the masters!…..
My Dad did some sound work with a couple of ex Caravan band members back in the 80s when we were living in Canterbury, I was a kid and can't remember the details or to what extent, remember a gig in Toddler's Cove for the community, Dad doesn't talk about it, but it introduced me to this great band. You just don't hear music like this anymore, real shame, evokes so many emotions
I saw Caravan live in 1970 soon after buying the album which I still have....side B of the album totally trippy....if you know what I mean..aceeeeeeeedddd :)..far out man! great band.....
It's not Caravan. It's only Pey Hastings. The Original with Richard Sinclair on the Video "Caravan live 1990" is so match better. Oh my God and his Version of Golf Girl is horrible. This are Richard's Sinclairs Songs. Hastings can not handle it
Great show, though I wouldn't have mind the Golf girl to stroll just 10 % slower in the Land of Grey and Pink. There's no hurry, no last bus to catch home... So, no need to speed up things a bit, just relax, and do it, when you want to do it.
They are my all-time favourite band. seen them so many times. First time at The Catacombs in Wolverhampton, when drummer, late Richard Coughlan played a cheap Olympic kit, but the sound was awesome. As a by-the-by, the current drummer is frighteningly too smiley. A bit weird.
He was an all time Caravan fan. He was brought in when Richard Coughlan's health was failing. Mark Walker is a great guy and keeps Richard's legacy going.
@@thehilligan Caravan at Catacombs show on a Monday night about 1970, around the same time Black Sabbath played a couple of times there just before they hit the big time with 'Paranoid'
Is it really "..on a land of warm and green"? I have been puzzled by this line since buying the album in 1973. That's what the lyrics sites say. Could it be ".. on a landing, warm and green"? At least then both "warm" and "green" would be adjectives, which makes a little more sense. Or "..on a land of warming green"?

I agree with you in the main, no doubt Richard's voice is stronger in general, but there is something very affecting about Pye's delivery on Golf Girl that I really like. I have heard several recordings of him singing it live and have come to actually prefer the way he handles it. I'm just glad we have both.
Why so accelerate?? It's a relax song, I know that it's a live but it is a relax song, I don't know what think the people but I think that was more relax and more slowly to cap the attention of the people!!! :/
Never in my life have I seen a bunch of gentlemen having such a good time. Love you Caravan and thanks for good memories.
This album is my favourite of all time. Never met anyone who didn't like it. Wonderfully upbeat. Some nice twists to this version.
Hard to put into perspective how erudite they were.
King Crimson was by far my favorite band, but in the land of grey and pink was by far my favorite album ever! Especially side 2!
One of the best bands to grace this planet
Planet Caravan.
Planet caravan is another great song by Black sabbath and Pantera
Pye is a terribly bad singer
@@joachimschreiner9675 True but he's a good Guitarist 😊
This still rocks in 2023! What a talented band……..

They still sound excellent! Such a very underrated band!
Born in 1972, but wish I was about 21 at that time to catch the '69 onwards early era. I'd be 73 now, but it'd be worth it!
you would be 52 now???
me too. I am 52 now.
Wow, 50 years ago.... real music ✌

When you are a real musician , age doesn't matter
FINALLY getting to see them LIVE in October this year last at HRH Prog in Gt Yarmouth! just Cant wait!!!

Fairfield! Saw Man there in 70s and Simon Reeve do a talk not long ago. Not to forget the Greyhound, of course...
Oh yes and Steve/John Hackett and their mum June ....who I used to work with at Mercury Comms... ended up in the bar with them, one weird Sunday night.
Thanks for the great music gentlemen!
Great job!I allready enjoyed this when I was 20 years old(1970)

A GEM no other word !! Caravan was so underestimated loved them then , still love them today , their music still so fresh and unique .

Do you know who are the original members involved here ? Probably the first concert I went to on my own....
i love this band

Brilliant musicians, beautiful memories, wow! 'The land of grey and pink' 💞
My favourite record ever.

Thanks for the update, still quite a good rendition though, I never felt the band were given the recognition they deserved, their music was beautiful.
Awesome!!! Amazing band...Great Caravan!!
Superb! Fresher than ever...!❤❤❤
Thank you! It was about time. Happy to hear this masterpiece again!
Lovely teenage memories 😔🥲
A lovely time was had by all.

Caravan and Camel should cross the sea to Baltimore Md. Rams Head in Annapolis would welcome you.
This is brilliant I had no idea that they were still going !!!
Simply fantastic ... do these Musicians are the components of the original Caravan line-up?
Pye Hastings is the only original member here followed by Geoff Richardson a few years later. Viva Italia!

Better with Sinclair, but still great to see them going
I agree.
Going to see them in March . Can't wait
Where has this been?
amazing song
Pure class
The Land of Grey and Pink - where Max goes when he’s a little older and where The Wild Things have become proficient horticulturalists.
❤Masterpiece
Great music! But I miss there the very special way of singing of Richard Sinclair
Grey and pink are very complementary colors

Drummer is enjoying the music....why not smile if it makes him and us happy!!!!! Dont be so bloody boring man....
Agree but perhaps he's making up for the miserable Bass player...

when was that? I worked with Andy Gilson @ Bubble but think I missed that one..

Richard Sinclair much better voice
His voice definitely fits the song better.

:(you still geat

Be sure not to use that word incorrectly especially if you're a Democrat
They have got the music totally wrong! There are mistakes all over that. Wrong notes, wrong timing, wrong key. They have murdered it.
