Hello Jimmi Vaughan..Happy Birthday to Stevie Ray Vaughan..
I was a neighbor to the Vaughan boys, and remember going to SRV's house i day to watch him play guitar. I had my own little band, but i was blown away watching SRV ! At 13 years old, he was amazing! A natural talent! Jimmie and I went to Stockard together, but in the 9th grade he got kicked out for growing his hair too long. So his parents put him in private school. I remember before he got kicked out, his band played a sock hop in the gym, and they were awesome! I grduated from Kimball High School in May 1969.
THOSE CRAZY VAUGHAN BOYS & THEIR LONG HAIR! AND THEIR INCREDIBLE TALENT..... IT WAS UNSTOPPABLE!!.....🎸🎸🎤🎤....THANK GOD!!!❤
Great story! God bless!
Met Jimmy, nice man! Love Stevie too!
Very sweet. This is what it's all about.

Why is great stuff like this not bigger news ? Jimmie and Stevie will always be great in my book !
It Will Be, Now!!!
Much love to Jimmie and the people of Oak Cliff. And of course to Stevie on the other side.
From a long-time fan in Kentucky.

When Jimmie Had Everyone Sing ""Happy Birthday" To Stevie, I Just LOST IT😢😭!! He Was, & IS SO Loved Him & I STILL Feel His Presence....People Have Trouble w/This Spiritual Level - (Stevie Didn't) But I Believe He Is Still "With Us"......🙏 Its Been Reall Healing To Listen To, & REALLY HEAR "Life Without YOU", Especially In Live Performance....Stevie REALLY Got It, Bless Him!❤❤❤

Great to see everybody coming together for the Lengends of music.
Glad that you posted this, for those of us who couldn't be there in person. I've been friends with Jimmie for many years, and have been following this project, hoping I could come to the dedication. I live in Houston, Texas and unfortunately couldn't get up there.
Jimmie isn't a natural public speaker, but that just makes him more honest and real; he's a great guy and friend.
Thank you again for a wonderful story. I met Jimmy in 2012 I think at a gig in Santa Cruz. After the show he did a meet and greet. I brought a record for him to sign and I gave him a 1957 Thunderbird diecast model. And when I handed it to him he's trying to figure out where he should sign the box. And I said to him, that's for you. He looks down at the red thunderbird and says to me in a most sincere voice. I will cherish this. I got to see Stevie Ray with tilt a wheel band in San Francisco at the blues festival in Golden gate Park. But I didn't get a chance to meet him. But what I love most is the comment that Jimmy made about his brother not too long ago. I taught Stevie how to play guitar, but Stevie taught me how to live. Even though I never met Stevie my heart feels as though I knew him. I guess many people feel that way. And I'm such a lucky guy to have at least met Jimmy too. What I love about Stevie is that when he became clean and sober he would help people wherever he went. He would help persons on their road to recovery. Thank you for leaving a wonderful comment. Please be well, and God bless.
Thanks for posting this for us that could not be there.
It was such a great day and was so glad we were able to be there in person.
So gutted I had to work and miss this today
Is that Jimmie speaking?
yes!
Rafael Espinoza... why does your name sound so familiar?
Speaking of their uncles recruiting the brothers into playing guitar, didn't Stevie Ray recruit HIS nephew, Tyrone? I read he started giving him guitars by the age of five.
