@@BlasphemousVerses its fuzzy, Possessed and Death (Manta at the time) both released a demo in 1984, one called Death Metal and the other called Death By Metal respectively. The only objective answer is that Possessed came out with the first death metal-esque record and Death came out with the first pure death metal record.
@@Cosmic_Cretin If the so-called creator of death metal, Chuck Schuldiner himself said that Possessed were the first. You really can't deny it. I personally think that Possessed were Death Thrash at best. However people also considered Venom black metal at the time when now it most certainly is not.
Gooooooooooooood...chicken *evilgrin* If want you want to experience more Death (MUHAHAHA!) my suggestions: - Crystal Mountain and - Flesh and the Power it Holds & Voice of the Soul
Definitely an anti-drug message with this one. Death had a lot of positive messages in their music, coated in a harsh dose of brutal reality. Awesome video, man.
Evil Dead 2 came out March 13, 1987 and Scream Bloody Gore's Evil Dead song came out with the Album May 25th, 1987. Do Evil Dead too and the Scream Bloody Gore later on.
I clicked instantly. One of my favorite bands hands down. Scream Bloody Gore is an awesome album. I love how melodic and thrashy it is. But if you go on checking out more from this band, you'll likely be very impressed by some of their later albums, which had a lot more melody and finesse to them. They are the pioneers of both Death Metal as well as Progressive Death Metal. That band Blood Incantation I had mentioned has a bit of later-era Death in them for sure. Good stuff.
I love how the band Onslaught from the UK was the first to describe them self as Death Metal on their music (beating Possessed by couple months) but was at the time just like Venom's Black Metal
You get it. You hit the nail on the head when you said it's like a fun horror movie. People on the outside looking in just can't grasp that for some reason. I also like that you pointed out the thrash elements. You're a pro at this already haha. By the way Death is fucking awesome. After the first couple albums the production gets way better and the subject matter of the songs gets more philosophical and serious while still maintaining the technical brutality and melodic riffing. Musicianship gets better as well. Do "Flesh and the Power it Holds" or "Without Judgment" next!
Bro I wonder that why do you have so less subs I mean your reactions are 1000 times more better than most youtubers with more than 300k subs....... And I am also glad that you looked into the lyrics as well because the lyrics is the major part of each DEATH song that makes them one of the most influential and in my opinion unique band ever lived...
appreciated my dude, thank you \m/ For me I feel like what I can contribute most to these reaction style videos is a breakdown of the lyrics, because my knowledge of actual music theory and history isn't really that advanced.
great insight into the song! really enjoy your reactions. would be cool to hear what you think of Beneath the Massacre - Society's Disposable Son / Psycroptic - Skin Coffin
@@JuniioMusic it's just cool to see someone that puts their own representation of a song through a video. People put "reactions" but I don't feel like I get enough feedback. Metal specifically goes to you man.
If you want a video that will blow the fuck up, I've noticed that just about anything from MAXIMUM THE HORMONE usually winds up with tens of thousands of views no matter the amount of followers. They are frickin awesome and deserve a vid from you anyway. Zetsoubu Billy is my fav. They have a new album in the works after like 5 years so mad people are searching them on you tube every day.
Not the best representative of Death, but its a thematic pick so its cool. No such thing as a bad Death song really. But they changed a ton as time went on. If you revisit them again try Spirit Crusher from their last album. I see you have no reacted to Ne Obliviscaris. There is simply no excuse for this! All kidding aside they are a must. Everyone recommends Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope and I get that. But Personally I think Of Petrichor Weaves Black Noise or Devour Me, Colossus (Part 1: Blackholes) is a better choice. Also a revisit to Vektor for the song "Forests of Legend" would blow you away. Tetrastructural Minds is a great song but nowhere near their best.
This band is reason why this genre is called Death metal. You have to Check out their albums, cause they change their sound so much.
Love Metal true
Actually Possessed coined the term Death Metal with their demo
Acid Fuzz but the firts pioner and the first influenced by all next death metal bands is death

Chuck played all the guitars in this album.
And even the bass I think

Ah yes the first metal album i bought when i was 14 thanks mom for telling me about this amazing band 🤟

You need to react to Trapped in a Corner by Death. Andy LaRoque and Chuck play the most badass guitar solos of all time! 🤘

The father of death metal
Some new bands to be on the lookout for is Skeletal Remains and BARN who are bringing back the old-school Obituary and Death sound.
A good song is
Don't burn the witch - Venom
