This NCLEX review highlights the key players in adrenal crisis (adrenal cortex, pituitary gland, and cortisol), causes of adrenal crisis, signs and symptoms of Addisonian Crisis, and nursing management of adrenal crisis. Adrenal crisis is when there is extremely low levels of cortisol in the body which leads the body into vascular collapse and is life threatening.
