Was diagnosed 18 years ago. My thyroid would change from hyper to hypo to hyper. I was in and out of hospitals. This video is by far the best explanation of what has been going on in my body for almost two decades. Thank you!
Thank you very much! Im a medical student from Indonesia and your video is very helpfull for me to survive this semester. Also your explanation is very clear plus your drawing skill so incredible.
Thank you for posting this video & raising awareness for a condition that is often missed/overlooked in sick patients. Your video was clear, concise, easy to interpret & fun to watch because of your AMAZING visuals. Keep up the awesome work for helping inform medical professionals & patients alike. Thanks again! I say this because I experienced misdiagnosis after misdiagnosis, until finally I received the primary adrenal insufficiency/Addison’s Disease due to being in a crisis. I had heart failure, SVT, bowel paralysis, intractable vomiting, malnourishment, dehydration, major electrolyte imbalances, delirium, anxiety & severe pain. After spending a month in the hospital, I was deemed “stable” enough to transition back home under the eyes of my home health care RN & primary care physician. After experiencing what I did, I’m very passionate about sharing my Addison’s story to help raise awareness about it. I’ve loved reading below at all of the comments to fellow Addy’s patients. 🦋 If you are ever looking for a patient perspective, I’ve posted a handful of videos sharing my story in more detail as well as other videos showing how this diagnosis has changed my life & the way I live day to day. . . . *Side note, I do have a handful of other autoimmune conditions & diagnosis related to my PAI. My uploads do include my cares for my other “rare” medical issues.*

Greetings. One of the things you did not mention is that addison's can manifest together with the symptoms you mentioned, with abnormal salt cravings. Another thing, Addison's can manifest itself in children as well as adults, although these often go undetected for long periods of time due to the relative rarity to the disease and few cases. Just some non-vital extras.
I am trying to get my Dr to get me tested for this, I was born Intersex, for a long time now I've had low blood pressure,, osteoporosis which has got worse, no libido, salt cravings, no energy, I often faint, I also have low immune deficiency, I'm ill most of the time. I've been tested for Thyroid, Diabetes, liver function, kidneys, everything is normal. I seriously think I have Addinsons, I'm tired of being ill all the time.

Can you have Cushing syndrome ( since it is not genetic) while going through some metabolic crisis and also Addison disease with other autoimmune diseases such Hashimoto and celiac disease ?
Did a doctor diagnose you because the symptoms are much worse than just being tired. A person will die if they don’t replace the lost cortisol. Not to mention the extreme weight loss and painful muscle problems. I almost died from it because so many different doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong. It’s extremely rare and mostly affects men.
Leia’s World that’s what’s confusing me as well, I have so many symptoms and am just starting to have tests, but the fact I haven’t lost weight has made me doubt myself, I suppose everyone is different though and this video is very helpful!
Sian Pursglov I Was diagnosed 11 years ago. I did not loose weight, for the contrary I was gaining weight, mostly because an other secondary effect of addison could be depression (and I eat when I am depressed). Not all symptoms are present in all cases. I have hiperpigmentation in my nails an in side my lips, fatigue, depression... In fact I was miss diagnosed initially because a Ph.d student from the Caribbean in US who is down and tired, usually is diagnosed with seasonal depression. When I returned to my country my doctor figurated what i had, because she new that in my family runs autoimmune diseases.

I think I have Addison's, but no doctor wants to test for it, so I just started paying out of pocket for testing. I have vitiligo, Hashimoto's, low blood pressure, hypoglycemia, fatigue (not always), and irritability, I haven't lost or gained weight.
I woke up with abdominal pain and tried going to the bathroom. All of a sudden I felt dizzy, lightheaded, weak, hearing went dim and buzzing sound, and my vision was real weird.. I felt my heart beating faster and blood rushing to my hands and feet. Thought I was going to pass out and die. I also have times where my heart starts beating and i start to sweat and then I eat a whole bunch of cereal. First time it happened, I was 18 or 19. Uncontrollable heart rate, rapid sweating. Almost went to the ER. I am 29 now. I was just told it was a panic attacks. I have had blood tests and only thing that came up was low vitamin D. I had high blood pressure at one point and now it is considered good. My resting pulse is usually all over the place. Sometimes 70, sometimes 110. I feel chronically fatigued. But is there a chance it could still be Addisons disease? I am sick of dealing with this.

+Armando Hasudungan I got confused.....At 2:23 you mentioned that mineralocorticoid is released after ACTH stimulation of adrenal cortex.....But isnt it so that aldosterone secretion is stimulated by Angiotensin II & increase in serum K+ level.....Ofcourse ACTH stimulates cholesterol desmolase which is the first enzyme required in the pathway of production of aldosterone but is it appropriate to say that ACTH stimulates aldosterone secretion.....Could you please make it clear to me?
